Summary: A guilty pleasure...but awful nonetheless
Review: What can I say about perhaps one of the worst sequels to an almost big-budget franchise(wait, there's Highlander 2, Exorcist 2...)without aggravating hardcore MK fans? I have always loved MK, believe me. The games were and are a rage-venting blessing from above, the characters unique and the visuals innovative. I loved the first movie, although it was disappointing that Anderson decided not to make a faithful adaptation by making the game's infamous fatalities come to life(I'm still praying for a Director's Cut). I saw one commercial for Annihilation and jumped up and down in excitement, but being 10 at the time I didn't stop to think why I wasn't hearing about a sequel already. I memorized the opening day, begged my parents to take me to the theater the next day...and they already stopped showing it!!!I cried and cried actually, driving my parents to then hunt for it in the city's smaller theaters. It was in one of these old, crappy two-movie theaters where they either showed movies which had come out two months ago or were so bad they could show it for the cheapest price possible. Overjoyed, having been a bratty 10 year-old who could cry constantly to get what he wanted, I embarked into the theater with my unfortunate sister. Was I ever embarrassed by such a travesty. No Christopher Lambert??? No Linden Ashby??? No Brigette Wilson??? My fragile, pre-adolescent brain was already cracking at the seams that day. With the first film Anderson managed to put Kitanna from the second game into the story. Here, this no-name director manages to take not one but at least thirty other characters from 2 and 3 combined and stuff them into the cheap action! He even uses Shinnok from MK4 for no apparent reason! When Raiden comes out, transformed, every skater and geek, including myself, muttered a collective "What the f***!" out loud in the theater! Let's just say when I walked out, drained, mind-raped, I had a better understanding of what movies were and knew that someday, when I got to be a filmmaker myself, I would always look at MK:ANNIHILATION and realize that what my imagination could churn out would be something better. For humanity, and for myself.

AHHHH!!!!!

Summary: If you like the video game, you'll like the movie.
Review: Mortal Kombat - Annihilation has a plot that is actually quite hard to follow at first. Ultimately, though, it is just a Martial Arts movie with quite high production values, so if you like that style of movie, then you are likely to like this one. I personally have neither seen the original Mortal Kombat or played the video game, so I may be at a slight disadvantage, but the movie does open with a potted summary of the conclusion of the first movie. All of this style of movie have the same plot, anyway - bad guy plans take-over of the world, good guy fights through many minions until the ultimate battle with the bad guy which the good guy always wins - and you really only look at them for the action.

Basically, Shao-Kahn (Brian Thompson) is the bad guy who lives in a place called the Otherworld. Shao-Kahn (or perhaps one of his underlings, I'm not quite clear on that point) was defeated in Mortal Kombat by Liu Kang (Robin Shou) which guaranteed that our world would be left alone for a generation. Shao-Kahn has other ideas, and has found a way to reopen the portal between the two worlds and is intent on taking over our world.

Lots and lots and lots of Martial Arts action follow both in this world and in the Otherworld. There are a bunch of really cool bad guys, bad girls and bad robots which need to be defeated on the way to the end sequence. The plot is really not worth describing much beyond this, so I won't bother, but in the end the good guys win (is there ever any doubt?) even though they look hugely outclassed in the final battles.

There isn't any character development, but the cinematography and special effects are quite nice, and there are lots of biffs, thuds and truckloads of way over-the-top Martial Arts to keep you amused.

Summary: The greatest story ever told
Review: The first time i saw this movie i tried to beat up my parents, Thats how insanely hard core it is. I cannot believe that some people dont like it, and wots even worse is that they breathe the same air as me!! To all you mortal kombat 2 haters, I hope you choke. Especially the ones who say the 4 arm guy looks fake, everytime someone sez this to me i just want to dragon kick them in the face!!! id normally just rent movies and never bring them back, but MK Annihilation deserved my money.

Bad bits
None (if you were expecting me to say anything bad about this movie, burn in hell)

Good bits
Any movie that has the guts to be called Annihilation deserves an oscar (Even Titanic 2: Annihilation, id buy it!)
This movie has the best fight scenes ever (a bit like the matrix 3 mixed with the matrix 2 and fight club, but way better)
The characters are so good. i think anyone in mortal kombat could beat Jean Claude van damme in a fight
why are you still readin this, buy the movie now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: ROUND TWO.....FIGHT!
Review: Mortal Kombat Annihilation is a fun ride. Many critics out there say this movie blows, which isn't true. People who havent played any of the games are confused at the story line and sorts. Sure the voice actin' could use a little work but who cares, the action is where its all about in kung fu flicks. I enjoyed both the 1st and 2nd film, there are tons of charaters from the games included in this movie, should please alot of the many gamers out there looking for there favorite charater appreances. There is also rumors of the next MK film in the works. I cant wait!

Out-standing...

Summary: MORTAL KOMBATTTTTT
Review: I don't know what the hell some people are talkin about when they say the movie sucked. I can't decide whether I like this one better or the first one. Sure the original Sonya or Raiden wasn't in it but Sandra Hess I think is the better Sonya since she is more tough in the movie. Hello anyone remember her scene with Cyrax or Mileena!!!! Sheeva and Motaro looked pretty cool,n Im glad they had more characters. The story line wasn't THAT BAD for goodness sake. The Mortal Kombat movies are the only games turned movies that try to stick to the storyline as much as possible (unlike Resident Evil to name one). All in all if ur a MK fan or not, the fight squences/martial arts should be enough for people to buy it or rent it;they're damn awesome. And of course for us ladies, looking at Jax's fine body is enough for us.

Summary: THE WORST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!
Review: BEFORE MORTAL KOMBAT ANNIHILATION, THE WORST FILMS I HAD SEEN WERE JAWS:THE REVENGE, AND THE CROW:CITY OF ANGELS.COMPARED TO THIS FILM,THOSE TWO LOOK ARTISTIC AND INTELLIGENT. CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT,LINDEN ASHBY, & BRIDGETTE WILSON WHO PLAYED RAYDEN,JOHNNY CAGE, AND SONYA BLADE HAVE BEEN REPLACED.THE ACTING IS JUST AWFUL,AND THE SCRIPT IS WORSE. THIS FILM HAD NO SENSE OF REALISM. AS EXTRAORDINARY AS THE PLOT WAS IN THE FIRST FILM (A GREAT MOVIE!!),THE CHARACTERS HAD A SENSE OF REALISM AND DEPTH.THIS ONE IS THE WORST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!! I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU THE ENDING, BECAUSE I DIDN'T MAKE IT THAT FAR! I AM NOW HEARING THAT MORTAL KOMBAT 3 IS IN THE WORKS,AND THAT CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT AND LINDEN ASHBY HAVE SIGNED ON.IT HAS ALSO BEEN CONFIRMED THAT THE DIRECTOR WILL BE RUSSELL MULACHY(HIGHLANDER).THIS GIVES ME HOPE THAT THIS 3RD INSTALLMENT WILL BE BETTER THAN THE DETESTABLE 2ND.I AGREE WITH ONE OF THE REVIEWERS ABOUT THIS MOVIE. THEY SAID THAT IF THEY COULD GIVE THIS MOVIE ZERO STARS,THEY WOULD. SO WOULD I!!!!!!!

Summary: Mortal Kombat!!
Review: Well I thought this movie was ok, but I didn't think it was as great as the first one. One thing that bothered me was that the original Rayden,Sonya, and Johnny didn't show up! But, I like the new Rayden and Sonya, they played their parts very well. Rayden actually gets to fight in this movie. I thought it sucked when Johnny was killed off in the 5 minutes of the film. Kitana fights in this movie too, which was pretty awsome becuase she used her fans! Sonya and Mileena fight in mud, so I bet the guys really loved that. My favirote character was Jax, he had a few lines that I thought were funny. My favirote line in this movie was when Sonya was talking to Lui Kane, "I can't believe you lost Kitana and then picked her up!" referring to Jade. If they plan on making a third film hopefully their special affects will be better in the next one. I give this film 3 stars.

Summary: It was cool but not the best
Review: I like this one alot but I like the first one better. I was sad it didn't have Kintaro and Kano. Rayden is still my favorite character but his voice bothered me. I thought Jax and Motaro were pretty cool but Motaro should be more monsterous.
