Summary: Great Film - One Problem...
Review: Anyone notice how the in a few scenes the image would freeze for a split second before it cut to the next scene? Otherwise, an amazing job.

Summary: The best movie to be created!!!!
Review: This is probably the best movie that will ever be created, (unless there is an alien 5) but still, the special edition is awsome! The visual effect are superb and because it is THX masted it sounds like you are in the the theatures! (sorry, i can't spell) Anyone who is a true alien fan must purchase this awsome video!

Summary: Everything in this film is first-rate
Review: From characters to special effects (Oscar winning) to storyline to actors (Weaver an Academy Award nominee), this film rises above the other Alien movies, and shatters that pesky "sequels suck" rule. Not the case. "Aliens" finds Weaver at her best, fighting hundreds of the pesky creatures and the Alien queen in this scifi-action fest! A little overlong, but the special edition is definitely worth checking out, with details on Ripley's deceased daughter as well as scenes of the active colony. Interesting. I would say that this one is dueling with Resurrection for the top spot in the series, but either way, the story is unique and interesting, and Weaver turns in a marvelous performance. I hope they make a fifth.

Summary: A roller coaster ride of a movie
Review: The suspense continues to build from the beginning. All the elements you'd expect in an action/sci-fi flick are here. An underdog heroine you root for in Ripley, tough enemies in the aliens, and my favorite character, that soldier that loses his toughness after encountering the aliens.

Summary: Aliens Special Edition Rocks!!
Review: After viewing Alien DVD, I viewed its sequel Aliens. Although this disc does appear to be a transfered version of the Special Edition Laserdisc released a few years back, it is still a great addition to any DVD collector's archive. Some of the benefits given on this Special Edition are the interview with Cameron and the simple fact that you don't have to switch discs every 30-45 minutes. Overall, Aliens DVD is another great addition to the Fox DVD library--Now how about some Star Wars DVDs!!

Summary: Alien ala Rambo
Review: I LOVED the first Alien film however the second one, "ALIENS" was weird. I never understood how in a time of suspended animation we need to send marines dweebs with bullets. It just doesn't make sense!

Summary: The Best of all Aliens
Review: Aliens was and is the best of the series and with the release of Cameron's uncut version he shows even more reasons why this is so. Unlike Alien Resurection whichwas a complete insult to all Aliens fans, this movie captured the Alien as Ridley did in the first, a menacing, predatory creature that could not be reasoned with, and that like all animals it lived to hunt and procreate and continue the survival of it's species. Just like in his uncut version of the Abyss we see that we missed out on some very choice scenes that had to be cut in order to be seen in theaters. There are scenes added here that helped fill in plot gaps that could have explained certain scenes more in depth. The way Cameron shows how and why the mother/ daughter relationship between Newt and Ripley came about only strengthens the notion that this movie was more than a shoot out, testosterone fest. Aliens also set a precedent for women in action film, how many actresses do you know beside Weaver who pulled this move off sucessfully? In closing, Aliens was already a great movie beforeJames' Director's Cut, this just helps prove it once and for all. Hopefully the next director who directs the next Alien sequel might try doing his homework and study this film, and not end up in the same category as some of the other poser Alien directors

Summary: See LV-426 Full of Life!!!
Review: To see LV-426 teeming with life, before the Alien is introduced and wipes-out the "shake-and-bake" colony, is worth the price of the new Aliens: Special Edition. Hats off to Cameron and Fox for including the 17 minutes of additional footage to what I consider the finest sci-fi movie ever made. Also, the additional set-up with what happened to Ripley's 66-year-old daughter Amanda adds a crucial element to why she defends Newt with such determination and force. The disc is a must-have for all fans of the Alien series. Go out and buy that DVD player now!

Summary: The extra footage is great, the transfer is a bit odd
Review: The good news is the extra 17 minutes is interesting, and fleshes out what happens with the colonists. The only unfortunate thing is the transfer seems less clear than the one on the previous widescreen VHS version with the plastic cover. It's like watching an old movie on tv rather than being crisp and clear like The Fifth Element or a great DVD. I gave away my VHS copy in anticipation of this, unfortunately. Still it's such a great film it can be ignored.
