Summary: Great movie but DVD has problems.
Review: Delta Force is one of the better of the handfull of anti-terrorist films that came out in the 1980's. Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin are a great combo. My only complaint is with MGM's production of the DVD. First, it's in standard full frame format. No widescreen version. Second, and more annoying is that MGM left out the English subtitles when the Arabs are speaking. My laser disc version of the film had them, so I know it's a mistake on the DVD. The only subtitles available are French and Spanish.

Summary: Me soooo love mindless fun!
Review: Let's face it. Chuck Norris is a guy who should stick to his current day job of "Walker, Texas Ranger" (If he plays the back end of the money part just right, he won't need a retirement plan!)

But anyway, this one tries to be a decent movie...

Aww hell, forget everything I've said, because I like some of the work of William Shatner! (Yes I need a shrink! Bad! )

Summary: A Very Exciting Movie!
Review: This was an exciting movie from beginning to end. An airliner is hijacked by Arab terrorists. Chuck Norris was outstanding in this movie. His character was well complimented by the Lee Marvin role. This movie had nonstop action as the Delta Force commandoes pursue the terrorists and their hostages. When the Delta Force people finally catch up with the terrorists it is well worth watching. This movie closely resembles the actual rescue of the hostages in Entebbe by Isreali commandoes. It turns into an exciting rescue sequence. You should watch this movie. It is good.

Summary: One of my favorite movies
Review: Great action packed flick about a highjacked airliner and the successful attempt to rescue the hostages. This movie has almost non-stop action, especially in the last half. The music is really good too and goes well with the movie. The movie box is funny also because of the way Marvin and Norris look on it, and the fact that they are so obviously superimposed on it. Hehe I thought I'd point that out. Overall a great movie you'll want to see again and again. One of Chuck's best and Marvin's last.

Summary: ICEBERG NORRIS
Review: Whatever merits this picture has (one of them being the presence of Lee MArvin) it is destroyed by Norris'usual lack of acting...

Summary: a fine film -- consider content, not form
Review: it is ridiculous to believe that an action film featuring Chuck Norris is not worthy of the same artistic respect as any other film... this movie takes you through a range of emotions, from laughter to tears, is an example of fine cinematography, great special effects, excellent characterization (ex: the german stewardess), and some downright good fun! recommended to all

Summary: A good Chuck Norris-flick!
Review: I have seen Delta Force atleast two times, the second time was quite recently. This is what I think of it: The scene with the two terrorists on the plane is too long. They should have shortened that part. The action is good, but there's too little of it, especially the hand-to-hand combats are too few. But the final fight between Chuck and the terrorist leader is very good! I must say, it's one of the best Chuck Norris films I've seen! (I've seen about ten)

Summary: I hate this movie
Review: and yet I cannot help but feel that it is somehow a great movie. An impeccable plot and involving characters are all it took to get me going.

Summary: A Gem
Review: How the TWA hijacking in the summer of '85 *should* have been handled, but wasn't.

It is not wholly unflawed -- bad guys are one-dimensional (but not as bad as "Entebbe"), and there are a lot of impressive military "toys." Anti-terrorist units (if not ours, for sure the Israelis -- and those folks *do* know how to deal with terrorists) were experimenting with those and similar toys in real life at the time.

This marked a turning point for Chuck Norris -- it's his first film with "serious" co-stars from outside the martial-arts genre, and along with "Code of Silence" shows that he has the potential to do more than karate-flicks. George Kennedy turned in an outstanding performance, and Lee Marvin was at his very tough-guy best in his last appearance.

For the " gotta whine about something" crowd, the anti-Arab sentiment reflected very accurately the mood of a country fed up with the Ayatollah Khomeini and his spawn -- and you may not like to remember it, but the bad guys hijacking aircraft and cruise ships in the heyday of air piracy *were* Arabs of one disaffected stripe or another. Best scene:Khomeini poster shredded by Arabs' machine guns during chase through town Worst scene:Get off the XL600 and on the Hercules home already!

Summary: A REAL STORY
Review: This movie is based on the TWA flight 847 hijacking in 1985. The events on the plane are true and many of the characters are real. The movie takes this real life terrorist event and combines it with exciting action packed patriotic excitement. The music is great and some of the best theme music ever made. The characters are well developed and there are very funny moments and sad moments in this movie. Overall I whole heartedly recommend that people watch this movie because it is a fun two hours of action and excitement.
