Summary: The King, Sin City and the attitude of Clint on steroids
Review: One hell, I repeat one hell of a rollercoaster ride. BUY THIS MOVIE. Fun is an understatement. Not since HEAT has any movie shown crime to be this much fun. I will never sell this DVD. Nuff said you gotta watch this, you will scream, yell laugh and sit on the edge of your seat (carefull don't slide off, the floor is hard).

Summary: Why?
Review: Why do so many film directors these days feel obligated to follow the MTV music video style of direction? Why do so many films these days have chaotic music scores that have no central theme? Why do so many films these days have incomprehensible plots? Why do so many films these days waste good money and special effects on CGI titles that have nothing to do with the film? Why do aging actors like Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner feel that violent films that glorify criminal activity somehow guarantee boxoffice success? And last but not least, why does Courtney Cox think she can act?

Summary: Wasted potential
Review: I love violent road movies; which why 3000 Miles to Graceland was such a let down. The first bad omen was the fact that another video director was given a script. And how typical that the filmmakers reduce the film to a witless action piece that's proud of its apathy towards quality. The film isn't merely ruined -- it's destroyed. Lichtenstein seems desperate to prove that MTV frenetic edits are more compelling than narrative, far bolder than ideas.........Typical, indeed. The story? It doesn't matter. The huge gaps in the tale does nothing but tell us how often the filmmakers drop the ball on story telling fundamentals. Two career criminals, pragmatic Michael (Kurt Russell) and psychopathic Murphy (Kevin Costner), meet in prison and work out details for a Las Vegas casino heist to be executed upon their release. We don't see any of that, instead entering the story on the eve of what becomes a glamerous music video of gun violence that's taken straight from The Matrix.

Murphy and Michael are both illegitimate sons of Elvis, a Cain and Abel determined to get their due but diverging over how far to go to get it. It's an original idea fat with potential, an idea that could have been made both tragic and funny. But you would have needed irony, conflict and poetry. Things no one involved seemed to care about. There is nothing dramatic here. No romance, no excitement, no laughs. It's dull, plain and simple. And worst of all....It never seems to end.

Summary: This movie is feels like 3000 minutes!
Review: OK..this is the worst movie I've seen since Sand Lot. This is the last time my husband is allowed to pick a movie it was so bad :-) I really hated it! It was completely needlessley violent and appeared to be completely out of plot, so "let's shoot our way through 2 hours and show blood flying everywhere!" Also what it says is, it's OK to kill, steal, cheet,& lie and feel really good about it sailing off in the sunset. It really...! Don't buy it! In fact, don't even rent it or waste your time even if it's free ou on HBO.

Summary: What a Night It Was, It Really Was
Review: Movie Summary: Michael has just gotten out of the big house and he's ready to play. He meets up with his old buddy Murphy outside Las Vegas to pull off a big heist. After the heist Michael plans to take off on his boat and retire. But things are never as easy as they sound. It turns out that Murphy is a little less sane than Michael remembers and things soon get out of hand big time. Michael is thrown into a "kill or be killed" world where he has to decide who to trust and what is really important.

My Opinion: This is a dark over the top action movie that I enjoyed. I wasn't expecting it to be so action packed or so dark, but then I try not to watch the trailer or read plot descriptions before hand so that nothing gets spoiled for me. Both Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner are excellent in this film. They play "bad guy badder guy" and this worked for me. Even though Russell plays a criminal, he's not as bad as the rest of them and we end up rooting for him. Courtney Cox is very different as the very annoying Cybil who just won't shut up. There is an Elvis theme that runs through the entire movie, hence the tittle. It's easy to miss if you are not watching closely. The scorpion from the opening credits also shows up again, so watch closely. There is a good amount of dark tongue in cheek humor, so you have to be able to catch on to this because there is no laugh track. If you fail to catch on to this, the movie won't be as enjoyable and you may end up not liking it at all.

DVD Quality: Widescreen Anamorphic 2.35:1, DD5.1. The only extras are the trailer and a brief cast and crew list. This is a pretty sparse DVD release.

What You Should Do: See it if you are into dark action packed crime movies. It's extremely violent and tongue in cheek at times but it's an enjoyable ride for fans of the genre.

Summary: John Woo it's not
Review: I've seen a lot of people say this is like a John Woo movie. More like a very poor John Woo ripoff. This this is a sub standard action movie with little or no story but it was kind of funny watching Elvis impersonators running around shooting everything up. Ok for a rental, but avoid buying it. For some good action movies, I would recommend The Replacement Killers, Ronin, or Payback.

Summary: Great Action!
Review: This movie starts with a computer generated scorpions fighting, and in the duration of this movie, you will notice that Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner are both wearing rings with scorpions on them. Costner even has a huge scorpion belt buckle. Soon there is a casino heist with bullets flying all over the place, but none of that matters, what matters is the midget Elvis impersonator, he gets killed and I'm sure that I found that much funnier than I should have. Then after Costner kills everyone except Russell (don't act suprised, they're the only 2 on the box.) the flick turns into a road trip action movie. What they never really say is the 2 bastard sons on Elvis. They say 73/75 of the claims to be his son were fake and Russell said his dad left him his boat, he said it while holding a gold record on a boat named Graceland. And Costner has gotta be the other because it makes for a cool plot. The greatest thing is when all the dastardly villains are in their hideout eating peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches, ooohh they're bad! Watch this movie. It's great and you won't regret it, unless you have something against violence, Elvis, Heavy Metal, Techno, or Sideburns, and Costner's got some MEAN sideburns.

Summary: Elvis has left the building, but he is not down.
Review: I was really surprised by this movie. It was definately not what I was expecting. It was much better than I thought it would be. Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell and Courtney Cox are the only reason to watch this movie anyway. Their characters seemed to be well developed and played out very well. I do have one question, is it possible that Kurt Russell is the other potential child of Elvis. 73 out of 75, left me wondering. All in all a great movie. Alot of action, much more than I expected from an Elvis impersonator movie.
