Summary: Oh My God
Review: Yes, i've heard endless moaning about the whole orgy/zion/sex thing and that people were laughing in the movie theater. I swear it didn't happen to me, but i guess certain individuals felt otherwise. Every great movie comes with at least one thing reviewers gripe about, so whatever. It's like 5 awkward minutes out of a 2 hour film. The movie kicks off hard and explosive, and i'm glad they slowed down the beginning of the movie to take the time to explain the philosophy of the matrix and the irony of Zion's existence, because otherwise the audience would be absolutely clueless for the next hour and 40 minutes. And yes, there's certain people that can't understand the movie at all, and their intelligence isn't to blame, it's just that this is a movie that pushes an audience's reaction where you get those moments of epiphany. After that though, the movie speeds up and refuses to slow down. Fight scene after fight scene. Insane special effects that would make ILM fall to it's knees. 100 Agent Smiths against Neo, good god. The Freeway Chase has to be seen to be believed. And there's about 3 dozen more incidents where my jaw just dropped to the floor. This is a Middle Film, and it's only right that it ends with a huge cliffhanger to make us curse and beg for 6 months till the final installment. This is one of the Classic Movie Trilogies of all time, and whether you like it or not, you're probably going to view the next one. Don't understand what the Matrix is? Then watch Reloaded. Wanna see the massive scale of Zion? Watch Reloaded. Critics aren't very good movie judges, so take my advice, you won't regret it.

Summary: Birilliant Piece
Review: First off, I have to say that those who scoff at the movie aren't showing any intelligence. With that said, this film beautifully combines "Alagory of The Cave" and Albert Camus' "Myth of Sisyphus" and writings on existentialism. Neo is perfectly portrayed as the absurd hero, who has beaten the odds against despair, although he is doomed to die. Without going into detail, one should study these writings and then re-evaluate the film. This film is very brilliantly done, if you are willing to take the time and make the effort to study it philosophically (in which case, most ignorant people could care less because they're lazy).

Summary: How to enjoy Matrix Reloaded
Review: I've heard many complaints about the length of particular scenes over and over again since I saw it in theater when it was on screen. It is no doubt that some of the scenes are long, but everyone of them holds certain function in the movie. Remember, the original idea of the Matrix is ONE 10 hr long film! so try to pay attention to the relevency of this to Matrix 1 rather than to the length of a single scene in a logically 1/3 of the film. Some of the scenes which receive most criticism is the Zion dance, Neo VS Agent Smiths and those involves Neo's superman thing. For the Zion dance, please pay attention to the atmosphere and the number of people present there in the cave, then refer to the news that "Zion is to be destroyed", notice the impact, notice the death of so many innocent people. How can you notice the hugh number of people in Zion if they only show you a room or two or just the hovercraft lot. For the fighting scene, please listen to the background music, it is just like a dance!! It also needs a lot of skills to make a scene like that with all those variety of moves and directions. For the superman things, if I'm not much mistaken Neo have only used it 4 times in the whole film: beginning, after the Smith fight, from the mountain, and rushing to save Trinity. It helps in distinguishing Neo from others a lot and everytime he used it, it is an urgent situation or for safety.

One of the most attractive feature of the Matrix Trilogy is that there are so many quotes from scriptures and history! So if you spend some time in researching for these quotes, just like I did, it would be a lot more fun. P.S. Once you've got the DVD, try to pay attention on small stuffs, you will definitely find a lot more from it.

Summary: What's wrong with these people ? Why the bad rap ?
Review: I still can't figure out why people have labelled this flick as AWFUL.It's far from it,far from boring. It's a real improvement over the first one.Great battles, action scenes, effects, music, photography to name a few.I've watched the first installment(which is a must) 6 or 7 times - I do have the DVD loaded with extras - still some effects are aging, for instance,in the beginning Trinity is being hunted by the agents and leaps from the top of a building - at some point you can make out it's fake.Anyway it's a great movie- a classic in all aspects. This second part never shows you anything like that.Every effect is carefully produced.People complain about the Zion part, the "rave" ,the "Sodom & Gomorrah" scenes - but they forget the K Bros were trying to show us what it is like to live in a hellish place - living under threat with very few reasons to feel it's great to be alive.I didn't enjoy these passages, but I didn't frown on them.As to the "confusing inconsistent" plot, people forget this is SCI-FI = FANTASY - thus things can be interpreted differently - it's like reading a book - the last part will certainly put everything together. As for not revolutionalizing anything, showing nothing new seems to be an understatement because, like T3 it displays an array of wonderful effects, flawless choreography, great design and wardrobe. It may not be perfect but gets close. It is good as part one - if not better.

Summary: Worst Sequel since Speed 2-Cruise Control
Review: This movie fails on every level. It lacks the story, action, and effects that made the first one such a classic. It pays to wait till the second weekend to see movies!

Summary: I thought it was good enough for a sequel
Review: There were aspects of this film that I was not wowed by, most people already stated the pointless Zion scene. What I won't say is that I didn't enjoy it, because I did. I'm a Matrix fan, and I'm still enthralled by the idea this movie tries to portray. So with that said, I thought it was good for what it was, the middle of a trilogy. The only thing I hope to see in the next one, which I may not, is more humanity in the characters, they were extremely wooden, and overly stoic(?)in this film. I wanted to see more animation in their expressions. The best characters were the French guy and Persimone, because they had simply - character. I still liked the movie though.

Summary: Awful
Review: Although I enjoyed the first Matrix, I did think it was slightly silly and pretentious, especially all that ridiculous shiny black leather thing. But I could suspend my disbelief for a couple of hours and just enjoy it. But not this abomination. Firstly the plot was idiotic, the dialogue, as another reviewer so correctly put it, was just a bunch of "meaningless, pretentious, pseudo-philosophic mumbo-jumbo" masquerading as some form of post-modern mysticism. I got seriously tired of listening to Fishburne, whom I have never rated and was always at his best playing a NY mugger in Death Wish, spouting some crap about "prophecy" and his "beliefs". Then there was Zion, ZION for God's sake, which appeared to be some sort of high-tech industrial nightmare, that strangely contained people dressed in rags like paupers (what, all this high technology and they can't make clothes?). The bizarre rave/orgy scene was insufferable and seemed like it would never end. And what is with the black/white ratio in this film. 75% of the people in the film are black. When they meet the Council of Zion, there is only 1 white person on the entire council, everone else is black. What is with that? The fight scenes seemed boring and contrived to me and lacked the energy they had in the first. They seemed more like choreographed dance moves than fighting, which I'm sure they were. The music was a disappointment and failed to provide the correct ambience that was present in the first film. Agent Smith was good as always, but 100 of him, that just got tiresome. The speech by the architect was techno-babble crap, and why has Neo now become Superman. They literally have him flying around with his arm extended like Clarke Kent himself. All he needed was his underpants outside his cool leather garb and the image would have been complete. He literally saves Trinity like Superman swooping in and grabbing Lois Lane who has just fallen of a skyscraper. Pathetic. The only people who could possibly like this garbage are children. The worst thing about this film is that it actually takes itself seriously. If it had been a spoof, or tongue-in-cheek I could have laughed at it. But no, these idiots are for real. And finally I have saved my most venomous comments for the character I hate the most. That Carrie-Ann whatever the hell her name is who plays Trinity. What planet is that fool living on? She is the one who takes herself the most seriously of all. Does she have any idea how ridiculous she looks in that shiny leather outfit. She looks like she's literally come straight from the set of some sado-masochism porno film. All she needs is a pink ball-gag in her mouth and some nipple-clamps. I saw her being interviewed once and she was droning on about how she loved playing Trinity because she was so tough and strong. It was obvious that she actually thought she WAS Trinity, in real life. Er, it's only pretend Carrie, not real. I could understand a 15yo girl falling for that delusion, but not a woman in her mid-30's. Basically a stupid film with flash computer graphics for kids, which after all is what the Wachowski Brothers are - big kids who never grew up. Personally I think the Wachowski brothers went from impressing the World with their first movie The Matrix, to committing movie suicide with this garbage.

Summary: Understanding it requires numerous reloading
Review: The movie was alright. The special effects and sounds were amazing. Some of the fight scenes were also awesome. The story was difficult to grasp though, but if you watch this and then watch the first one, the first one begins to make more sense. I admit, some scenes were CORNY. I couldn't help but laugh, especially at that one rave/orgy scene. Now what was that about? That lasted for minutes..just like that one sex scene from 8 mile..but we won't get into that. Complicated plots are great...SOMETIMES..but I wasn't asking for numerous word problems and riddles..it's not what i'm looking forward to watching after a long day of school. Hopefully, the next movie will answer any unanswered questions that we all have, and hopefully, it will be much better.

Summary: Incredible.... but in it's own right.
Review: OK, I am aware of all the negative reviews this movie received when it was released. It certainly seemed as if the movie fell flat of many people's expectations. I must say, however, this movie more then met my expectations. Let me try to explain why this, deep down, is really a fantastic movie. First of all, I think I know why many people had a problem with this movie. It's the second part of a trilogy, therefore, I doubt anybody went to see this movie without expecting it to be very similar to the first movie. However, this one is very different than the first movie. I think after seeing that, many people did not view it as it's "own" movie. If you view this movie as it's "own" movie, you may really enjoy it. It has every element needed. It has a fantastic story-line (very complex towards the ending), amazing action, and a killer cliffhanger ending. Yes, I will admit, there are one or two scenes that could have hit the cutting room floor, but come on! Almost every movie in creation has scenes like that. I am also confused as to why there was so much complaint over the length of the fight scenes. They are nearly the same style as the ones in the first movie. If people loved those so much, wouldn't it be better if we got to see more of them like we do in this movie??? Well, if there's one thing I would like anyone who reads this review to take away from it, I want it to be for everyone to see this movie with a very open mind. View it as a movie on it's own right and terms, and remember... it's science fiction!!! Don't expect "Gone With the Wind". So, buy this DVD when it is released, and just HAVE A GOOD TIME!!!
