Summary: 2 hour homicide
Review: How could Harrison Ford do this to our expectations??? Ridiculously thin plot which ends where it begins. It challenges the audience's intelligence.

I gave it two stars because I felt that Josh Harnett's character profile was quite amusing. However, it falls prey to the poor script.

Watch it only if you are die hard fans of Harrison Ford and/or Josh Harnett.

Summary: Funny Concept, annoying execution
Review: "Hollywood Homicide" has a premise, but only so it can be called a movie, and allow the filmmakers to write bad jokes, and then let Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett spray them out.

The movie starts off with a rap group getting killed in a nightclub. Soon, Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett stumble onto the case to try and figure out this mystery. Master P plays the clubowner(They call this guy an actor!), who is also intrested in purchasing a house. This is convienent because Harrison Ford is a real-estate agent on the side.

The film then goes into cop-buddy formula, with the two wise-cracking at each other, etc... What gets so annoying about the film is that it jumps around to something new every five minutes. IT's like the filmmakers are afraid the audience might be getting board, so they throw in something new to try and wake us up. 9 times outa 10, it doesn't work.

The movie is just so goofy. I mean, it's not like silly joke comedy, the dialouge is boring mostly, and the actions characters take just make you want to scream at the "duh!"

However, Harrison Ford does do a pretty good job. He conjures the films only laughs, but even then it's not that funny. I think Ford probably looked at the script and thought he could make it work. He gave it his best shot, but this film falls nearly right out of the gate.

Summary: Not your average dectectives, but two with flair!
Review: This is a story about 'co-mingling.' At first, there was too much comingling to have a definite plot. It was slow-going as the characters' intermingled lives were explained. We have two detective, one young who has a lot to learn, who definitely are opposites in every way. Both are unsuccessful in their fields of endeavor and both are trying to juggle two jobs at the same time.

At the yoga class, there are real people with real feelings. You get the idea that, despite the age difference, these two individuals understand each other's hangups. One of the yoga positions reminded me of the geese standing on one foot with the other in the wings. Quite a balancing act!

The Rodeo Drive scene was artistically staged. In the car chase down Sunset Blvd, it was reminiscent of the OJ standoff with the flashing lights of police cars, only this one had crazy driving. The young detective couldn't drive any better than he could shoot. Along the way, Robert Wagner and Mickey Rooney are shown getting their stars on that magic thoroughfare.

It seems that movies today use the same subplot without ado. This time it is taken from the DAREDEVIL movie where the child sees his father murdered and sets out for revenge on the killer. This time the young guy takes out his pent up misery on his father's ex-cop partner who killed him. He expends his grief at target practice. This time Leroy is connected to revenge murders involving the rap music industry. But he ends up exactly where he belongs, in the Hollywood Waste bin.

It started off slow, but the ending is fast-paced and rewarding. Gladys Knoght and Frank Sinatra, Jr. made cameos as characters in the plot. Harrison Ford was delightful, but I kept remembering him as the Han Solo of STAR WARS on whom I had a crush.

The young star was more believable as an aspiring actor in an amateur performance of Tennessee Williams' "On the Waterfront." He was a cute fellow. The music was not of my choosing, with so much rap interspersed, but the MY GIRL recording (for whatever reason) used as the credits rolled at the end left everyone with smiles and a contented feeling --- like a movie should. Ford is a real pro.

Summary: Something New For the Old Cop Film
Review: First of all, Hollywood Homicide is one of those rare great films saddled with a truly horrible trailer. Based on the trailer I never would have seen this film, but seeing two thumbs up from Ebert and Reoper aroused my curiousity and I'm glad it did.

Hollywood Homicide is brilliant in a unique way. The characters are rounded, funny and very, very human. No one is a freak, but everyone is funny.

While I could have done without some of the slapstick in the too long chase scene near the end, the inventiveness of the film's dialogue, situations and premise is fantastic.

Unlike the Lethal Weapon series which began as a serious cop film and then tried to reinvent itself as a comedy series, this film introduces itself as a comedy and stays true throughout and I would love to see more films with these characters.

In other words, if you're looking for Lethal Weapon 1 you're in the wrong place. But, if you're looking for Lethal Weapon 4 or Stake Out, you're about to see a comedy cop film far better than both.

Summary: Another Disappointment
Review: After the anticipation to see this movie I found it a great disappointment. Harrison Ford is a good actor but due to poor direction he appeared to be a bit of a klutz. A few more takes on some of the scenes might have proven to improve them. Especially when the actors seemed to be acting so hard. It was difficult to follow the story line. The movie was more about the two detectives. The laughs would have come much more naturally if they had followed one story line and have the laughs come from that. The movie also went on much too long and the final action scene could have been cut at least 5 minutes and we wouldn't have missed it. Hopefully, Harrison's and Josh's next project will be better.

Summary: Hollywood's Comical Side of the LAPD
Review: I walked into the movie expecting a certain amount of action because of Harrison Ford's magnetic presence.
Considering the dual plots sewn throughout the movie, I found the movie to be very enjoyable to watch. I found myself laughing out loud at various times throughout the movie.
When I enter a movie, if I can jump in the movie and not find myself spending my time looking for flaws, but finding things that can keep me involved then I can enjoy the movie.
This was one of those movies. The only part that was kind of weak to me was the fact that Martin Landau and Master P's characters would continue to use the Harrison Ford character to buy the house. Even someone as gullible as I can be sometimes found that a little hard to believe.

Summary: Slow start good ending
Review: The title of this review says it all. The movie is snooz material for the first 45 minutes and then really picks up. The ending was worth the wait. Harrison Ford's performance was definitely not Indiana Jones caliber and Josh Hartnett should have gotten in the hot tub earlier in the movie.

Summary: Typical Harrison Ford Movie
Review: Hollywood Homicide is Harrison Ford's kind of movie, plenty of action with enough humor to make Ford shine. If you are expecting a movie that is strictly comedy, this movie is not for you. But if you are looking for a good entertainment and you are a Harrison Ford fan, this is the one.

Summary: Hollywood Homicide is AWESOME!!!
Review: I saw this movie on opening day with my husband and two girlfriends.(6-13)
It's got something for everyone. My husband enjoyed the action/chase scenes along with the whole cop/detective murder mystery and of course we ladies sat there with our eyes glued to Ford and Hartnett!!! But drool factor aside, we enjoyed the story line and the movie had great comic moments. Harrison Ford is very comedic in his own dry way and Hartnett was hysterical doing "Street Car". These actors have no problem poking fun at themselves or putting themselves in awkward positions in the name of comedy. I respect and appreciate that because it added so much to the production. I've read some pretty lousy reviews on this movie-I guess some people are just way too analytic or perhaps anal to just sit back-relax-and enjoy being entertained without looking for something to gripe about. I think some of these reviewers give [poor] reviews because they have envy issues!
Whatever-I've seen allot of boring/rotten movies in my day, but this isn't one of them. My husband fell asleep during "You've got mail", not before elbowing me several times saying "just shoot me". My husband hates chick flicks-I hate movies filled with nothing but pyro, and we both hate movies so boring that you fall asleep. This movie kept us all at attention with action-comedy-and what I thought was great chemistry between Ford and Hartnett on screen. They portrait a typical older cop/ younger cop relationship. The older cop sees in the younger cop things and situations in life that he once had but has perhaps lost with age. Which I believe was happening in real life, off screen! (Don't worry Harrison, we ladies were drooling over you just as much as Josh.......well almost anyway!) Two Hot guys, great action scenes, great comedy throughout, a fun movie worth seeing. The chase scenes around the canal were beautiful. Well Done! DON"T MISS IT! Go with a date/ your friends/ or your teens-they'll all enjoy it. Also, my favorite line; "If I take my ginko, I remember where I put my viagra"!!
6-19 update; I took my daughter and 5 of her friends to this movie last night. All 15 to 16 years old. I was curious to see if they would get it. They were totally into it. Thank God I took them to the last showing on a Wens. night. They were laughing at all the right moments, singing and groovin with the music and when we left they were all doing "The Sartane Run" in the parking lot (You have to see it!) Their only complaint....
the uniform SHOULD have come OFF before the hot tub! After seeing this movie a second time, I stand by my rating of "awesome". Even the music spanned generations-rap/hip hop/ Smokey Robinson! We are a movie/theatre family. We go on average once a week, sometimes twice a week in the winter and also to local college plays. I rate a movie "Awesome" if it's one I want to see more than once. Bottom line...we all have different tastes and thankfully there are all types of movies out there for us. This one, in my opinion, is a WINNER for everone 10 to 100!!! Hollywood Homicide is a movie that Ford and Hartnett should be proud of, I LOVE it!!!

Summary: A decent show
Review: This show was pretty good. It was entertaining and Harrison Ford as well as Josh Harnett did a really good job. This movie is a cops and robber movie. It is more of a comedy than action filled, I still liked that though. It's not the best movie in the world, but it is worth seeing at lest once in the theater!
