Summary: Lucas does it again!
Review: If you are looking for a movie filled with drugs, violence, sex, foul language or the break down of the american family then you need to keep looking, but if a movie where the clash good & evil is an every day occurance and the fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance as one young boy learns of his true potential then this video is for you.

Lucas has outdone himself with just the right mixture of action, intrigue, special effects, music, and character development as well as setting the stage for the events to come. I found myself looking for every possible plot twist or hidden meaning that was expounded upon or left us hanging (Was Darth Vader really Luke's father?).

Though critics may scoff and belittle this movie, I for one feel it was worth the wait. No I didn't stand in line 3 weeks, but did catch it the first day it opened nationally. Most of us realize movies are simply a form of entertainment that allow us a moment of reprieve from our otherwise hectic lives. I admit Jar Jar may not be my farvorite, but my young son perks right up everytime he's on. To each his own.

Summary: Okay film, BUT THIS IS STAR WARS WER TALKIN ABOUT
Review: I hate Jar Jar Binks. I Hate Jar Jar Binks. I hate Jar Jar Binks. I could say this forever and ever. This movie had some of the best special effects that I have ever seen. The Story wasn't half bad. But the acting, well it was just pure carp (haha). Jar Jar Binks was annoying. This might have been the most over hyped movie, but it was nothing compared to Princess Mononoke ( the best movie of the year). It still had this Star Wars feel to it, though, and that is a plus. Obiwan and Qui Gon were awsome. I also liked looking for all these little spoofs in it (a hidden race of ET's, Indiana Jones and such). But why did they have to add laughter? Jar Jar Binks made me cry he was so bad (well, not cry, BUT HE STUNK). I hate Jar Jar Binks. I hate Jar Jar Binks.

Summary: From a 20 year Star Wars collector
Review: The film was great, but it is the least favorite of the four. Why? Jar Jar Binks! I have no idea what George was thinking on that one. We needed more Darth Maul. George, DO NOT bring Jar Jar back for episode 2.

Summary: One of the best film events since the originals!
Review: Unlike some of the reviewers, I must say that I quite enjoyed this film. I wasn't alive at the time of the original three, so I don't know about hype statistics, (E1 probably wins). I applaud George Lucas in his ability to surprise us with a handful of somewhat fresh young faces. In a way, it's better, because this isn't their only great film, ( like Mark Hammil). I was surprised at Naboo's diversity. I was also dissapointed that Qui-Gon Jin, ( the long awaited mentor of Obi-Wan) could not make it to E2. I think that Episode One is another film in the great line of George Lucas' masterpiece's, and that instead of slandering it for not being like the original, praise it for being a fresh new start to an old myth!

Summary: Remember Episode IV was a first too...
Review: Okay, there are people who are bashing this movie because of lack of character developement, unresolved plot (maybe that one is just me), annoying characters. The other camp says "But this is the first of three, of course there are unresolved issues...." My personal take is that this point does not, in any way, mitigate the first group's arguments. Episode IV was conceived to be the first of three as well but was constructed to be complete in and of itself. There were very few unresolved issues. Of course with a built in fan base Lucas can take his time and give us a more cohesive whole. I predict that it is going to be a very frustrating time until all of these movies are finally released.

That aside, I found that this movie grew on me and I was able to ignore jar-jar after the third time through. Some special effects (i.e. the battle droids) were a bit articial and failed to sate my blood thirst (I'm sorry but stormtroopers were much better targets). The light sabre scenes were by far the best aspect of this movie. I think when the trilogy is complete I'll probably have a better opinion, but for now I think this is a pretty weak beginning.

Summary: The BEST
Review: This is the best movie ever! I believe this is the best star wars movie out yet. It is action packed and super graphical! If you don't want to waste your day, April 4th rent this bad boy out!

Summary: Wonderful flick
Review: I am just writing this in case only the most recent reviews of the movie are shown. Once again, a classic was released, and it is not surprising that many shallow individuals have failed to recognize it as such. Very rarely is such great work recognized in its own time. Those of us whom thought the best character was Darth Maul, missed the movie entirely. I am willing to bet that most only enjoyed the originals because it was part of life growing up. Now with this new release may have been waiting for something that would make them laugh, cry and pee their pants. I'm rambling, but to summarize, I am ashamed of anyone with any sense, Star Wars fan or not, that dogs on this flick. Great characters, great action, great animations, great emotions -- Hats off.

Summary: why do so many people feel the need to hate this movie?
Review: It amazes me how many people feel the need to bash this movie! it was, and is, at its heart, classic movie making! a type of film making we dont see and is missed in this day and age of Independence days, men in black and wild wild west's! Good story telling and innocence! things that dont exsist in much entertainment these days!

this movie could never and would never meet the hype or the expectations of the original or empire strikes back(the best so far)!

this is just the beginnng so all you nay sayers stop being such jaded adults and sit back and enjoy! if not go watch independence day zzzzzzz zzzzzzzz, oh sorry just thinking about that pile of goo made me fall asleep!

Summary: Great first chapter of the Star Wars Saga.
Review: This movie sets up the Star Wars saga beautifully. Some people fail to realize that this is only part one of a six-part saga, and there is much more to come. The main focus of this film was to show how Palpatine came to power, which it did. When viewing this film, you should not look at it as a stand-alone movie, because it is not. Most of the really good stuff is still to come (the rise and fall of Anaking Skywalker). This is what most people want to see, but they will just have to be patient, it's coming. The whole point of The Phantom Menace was to set everything in motion. Also, the reason it may seem more youth-oriented is because it is told through the eyes of a innocent nine year old boy. This was done on purpose, so that the transformation into Vader will be even more drastic. How could such a good little boy turn into the essence of evil? These things will all come together nicely, and in the end, we will have one hell of a six-part saga. It would have been alot easier for George to cater this movie to the public, but he is more concerned with the story as a whole. And I am very glad that he is.

Summary: An Awesome Prequel - A Must Have.
Review: Like all those before it, this Episode of Star Wars is action packed from the opening bell. Filled with many new characters, and they are charachters, and a few old faces, this movie brought the Jedi to a new level. It for the first time answers the question, "Why would anyone carry a Light Saber when they could have a Blaster?". The Jedi fighting is awesome, fast paced, and fearsome to their enemies. A must have! A Great Family Film.
