Summary: Great concept, just too violent
Review: I wish amazon.com had half stars because I would give this movie 3 and 1/2 stars. Anyhow, overall, this is not a bad movie. It has a great plot, good acting, a decent script, great sets, lots of action, and great special effects for 1990. The only thing I had a problem with was the excessive violence. If you can see past that, which I couldn't, you should enjoy this film. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Review: let's face it.terminator 2 is arnold's best movie.after that he lacked the same energy he had in the past(last action hero was ok as was true lies)if terminator 2 was never done total recall would be arnold's best movie.i got this when it first came to video(around xmas 1990-it was also priced to own at that time too)and have watched it millions of times since.arnold is one of my fav. actors(up there with pacino,deniro,and nichelson)this is a classic sci-fi film.one of the best futuristic movies in a long time and the best sci-fi film of the 90's.-jason

Review: This movie is a FANTASTIC sci/fi blockbuster.Paul verehoven has done a fantastic job.It was one of the most expensive movies of it's time costing around $60 million{shown in 1990}and every single dollar was worth it.Total Recall is set in the future{where planetary travel is possible}it follows Douglas Quaid{arnie}in a journey to get he's original mind back.In this journey he travels to mars where some GREAT scenes occour like in the airport where ricktor shoots out the window and the air-vaccum sucks all into it{well 3 soldiers to be exact}all in all it has BLOOD,aliens{mutants},futurestic scenery & technology AND MORE.If possible I reccomend watching it on DVD or the R18+ version{uncut} to enjoy the blood and guts of the BRILLIANT movie.C IT NOW 5 stars!!

Summary: What a disappointment!
Review: I heard a lot of praise on this movie so I decided to watch it. It was one of the most disappointing movies I've seen lately. I thought the plot was dumb and characters had no depth. I didn't like anything except perhaps music. Total Recall is probably destined to be a film which I will never enjoy. I'm giving it 3 stars because I can see some honest effort there. But I really think it deserves 2 stars.

Summary: Awesome!!! A Sci-Fi Classic!!!
Review: Nobody does action films better than Arnold Schwarzeneggar (although Jackie Chan is coming awfully close!), and this is one of Arnold's best! It's just a super-fun story of a man on the run in an all-around enjoyable action-thriller, which takes place mostly on Mars! I really liked this one the first time, and have since watched it again and again. It's a winner!

Review: As a fan of Paul Verhoeven I like this movie.I like the violence because I think it is very funny.I particularly liked the scene where Quaid shoots the doctor in the forehead making his brains explode out the back of his head and splatter all over the wall.And where he jams that metal rod through that guys face at the end.A great Sci-fi movie for fans of Sci-fi,Verhoeven,And Arnold.

Review: Total recall is one of these movies which become better and better year after year. Verhoeven's obsessions are already there : TV's manipulations, bloodily detailed hyper-violence, different economic and ethnic worlds clearly separated (In Total recall, the mutants are parked in Venusland), etc... Special effects are, it must be admitted, well integrated in the story and Schwarzenegger is perfect for the role. A DVD to buy. NB : Note, in the initial credits, the error in the spelling of the name of the sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick. They wrote Phillip !!! Shame on them !
