Summary: Garbage to explain more Garbage
Review: The movie is a mess of CGI images with cardboard characters played by actors who should know better. It's the kind of movie that should be downloaded on the Internet and shown as cyberjunk, and now we have a documentry on it, that explains it all. That people and movie standards have sunk to the range of a cheap video game.

Summary: The Matrix Overload
Review: The revolutionary sci fi action spectacular of 1999 gets the re-release treatment with a new disc complete with tons of extras. Once Warner Brothers are onto a good thing, they milk it for all it's got, and the Matrix is no exception. With an endless amount of special features, behind the scenes info and hidden features, this disc is impressive, yet sometimes screams "filler", with some useless featurettes; "The True Followers: fans describe their view of The Matrix" among others. Sure, it's a curio for fans, but how about a Director's Commentary or something more substantial than endlessly detailed "making of"s and so on. Most interesting, is the upcoming Matrix Anime project which looks very stylish and inventive. Apart from a few interesting bits of info however, this disc, while a must-have for the die-hard Matrix fans, is somewhat dissapointing. Some solid production details can't cover the disc's unsubstantial feel.

Summary: Cool Indeed (4 1/2 stars)
Review: The year is actually closer to 2199, and it seems Thomas, like most people, is a victim of The Matrix, a massive artificial intelligence system that has tapped into people's minds and created the illusion of a real world, while using their brains and bodies for energy, tossing them away like spent batteries when they're through. Morpheus, however, is convinced Neo is "The One" who can crack open The Matrix and bring his people to both physical and psychological freedom.

"What is The Matrix?" In the hands of writer-directors Andy Wachowski and Larry Wachowski, The Matrix (1999) proved to be an exhilarating comic book/Hong Kong/sci-fi treatise on the nature of reality for the Keanu Reeves crowd. With Sydney, Australia standing in for an ominously green-tinged Any City, the initiation of Reeves' ace hacker Neo into the Real World by Laurence Fishburne's super-cool Morpheus and Carrie-Anne Moss' patent leather-clad cyber babe Trinity sets off the ultimate conflict between man and malevolent machine.

Regardless of that conflict's philosophical bent, the real attraction became The Matrix's trailblazing special effects and bravura set pieces, including air-borne kung-fu, time-bending, bullet-dodging shootouts, and an ultra-stylized, slow-motion
lobby fusillade. A stunning, breathtaking slice of sci fi cool and a now benchmark movie, The Matrix has spawned two sequals and will continue to provoke debate and inspire countless imitations long after the follow-ups arrive in theatres.

Summary: Are you people DAFT???
Review: This is a documentary of the first matrix movie "The Matrix" not any subsequent releases. How can you be led to believe that this release is about the second film? If you actually watched it then you would know that it is about the first! so to the two of you that said it is a bad release because of bla bla about the second movie well that is BS.
this is a pretty good and extensive documentary!

Summary: A must have for Matrix fans
Review: This is a superbly informative and entertaining DVD to own for Matrix fans. It includes "practice" scenes from the two sequels, lots of interviews with the main characters, explanations of the stunt work and overall a great setup. It is definitely worth every penny and then some.

Summary: One of the Best "Behind the Scenes".
Review: This tape is a little over two hours and gives an in-depth behind the scenes look at the making of THE MATRIX. Everything from conception to pre-production to production and post-production is covered. The tape includes interviews with the four major actors; Joe Silver, the producer; and most importantly the Wachowski brothers. Explanations of the development of bullet time and an examination of the exhaustive training for the fight scenes are explored. A sneak peak of the upcoming Matrix sequels and a look at the Animatrix shorts to be released are also included. Be forewarned however, some of this stuff doesn't show up until after the credits have rolled and ended. Die hard fans and anyone interested in the movie-making process will benefit most from this video, but it's also interesting enough that anyone who liked THE MATRIX will probably enjoy.

Summary: The Matrix, does it need to be revisited?
Review: What is this? I loved to see how the movie came into existence, and I would have liked to see how the characters acted in real life, but Keanu pretending he likes philosophy? Come on. He was in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure for gods sake. What the hell were they thinking in casting a valley-girl? Whoops, I mean guy. Or do I? Carrie Anne Moss was more manly than him.

I bought this way before the sequel, and now what the people they interview say sounds like total B.S. In what part of The Matrix: Reloaded was there even the slightest bit of philosophy?! I majored in philosophy in college for God's sake! The most philosophical thing they had to say was... wait, this movie was purely action, unlike the first in the trilogy. I have seen cartoons more philosophical than this. Adam Sandler sounds like he is speaking the word of God compared to this psychotic drivel of a script. Jeezus. Andy and Larry really dropped the ball on the movies, and I hope they can pick it back up, but intelligence is a ball that, once dropped, is slippery and hard to get back.

All in all, it is a great documentary, and, no matter how much the movies sucked, makes up for a lot of lost faith.
