Summary: continuing a great tradition, excellent!
Review: a movie you can watch over & over again, and find something new every time.

Summary: Don't waste your time with this one!
Review: The only good thing about this movie was the trailer. The trailer leads you to believe you'll be horrified and well entertained. The movie is actually a horrible comedy and does not even come close to being interesting or entertaining. Filled with numerous Egyptian landscape errors, the sets look contrived and the effects are lackluster, save for the wind storm. What ever happened to using little models anyway? Computer generated effects just don't give the sense of realism as models. If you like poor acting, lame scripts and don't care about accuracy in depicting the setting you might, just might like the movie.

Review: The Best Movie I've Ever Seen ! best Special Effects Ever

Summary: Waste of time and money
Review: I cannot believe I was sucked into watching the movie by their attention-grabbing trailer! I saw all of these special effects and the Mummy- hey, I'm into ancient civilizations, so why not? After twenty minutes of this shallow plot, I couldn't even squeeze a chuckle out of me. Good grief, what an insult to my intelligence! I guess I can watch this if I have nothing better to do or if I wanted "who-cares-if-it's-stupid-I-just-want-to-be-entertained movie", but I'm a busy person. What a waste of those great special effects over a dumb plot! I felt conned, like an idiot: those stereo-types they did, sheesh, hello?! It could've been better. I should have taken my money to the other show: the Matrix, I saw that on video and would have been cool to have seen in it on a cinema. Oh, well....

Summary: A great action packed, with thrills and chills, great acting
Review: I loved it. The first time I wasn't sure, but the second time I saw it, I loved it. In the tradition of the good old fashion action adventures, like the indiana jones films. Great suspense that keeps you at the edge of your seat until the end. I was never disapointed at the least. Sure it's not a great movie, but it was fun. Brendan Fraiser was excellent as the indiana jones type character. So just enjoy the movie. Also the music was in the type of grand scale like indiana jones, star wars and lawrence of arbia.

Summary: Just falls flat.
Review: This movie had potential for being good, however the desire to make money ruined that potential. What we're left with is the generic tale of a mummy out for revenge.

Summary: Not a scream, but certainly a hoot
Review: I didn't think I'd like The Mummy, but I watched it anyway. I loved it. The effects were wonderful, and I liked the re-creation of the Egyptian rooms and buildings (although I don't know why the pyramids had their gold capstones, yet were lacking their smooth limestone exteriors).

As has been noted, The Mummy isn't a horror, but a horror comedy. I laughed out loud time and time again. I do wish they had been more consistent with casting, however. Some of the actors were top-notch while others were clearly sub-par. The narrator whom we heard at the beginning of the movie gave a particularly amateurish voice-over, and although this movie takes place in 1924, Brendan Fraser acted and sounded like he just came from a 1999 L.A. surfer's convention. Rachel Weisz, however, was outstanding as the librarian. Her delivery and her sense of comic timing were excellent (the guy who played her brother was also good, as were several of the supporting characters).

If you are looking for something to send chills up your spine, forget about The Mummy. This is a camp horror/adventure spoof that doesn't pretend to be anything other than mind candy. It isn't scary, but it is wonderfully entertaining.

Summary: Best movie I have EVER seen
Review: I saw this movie 4 times in the theatre, yeah i know im strange but I loved the Indiana Jones series, and the movie was even better then those movies so why wouldn't I want to see it over and over. I recommend it for everyone.

Summary: Great Action with a twist of humor
Review: This movie is pretty cool. The special effects are amazing and there's even a hint of humor in a couple places. I recommend this movie and even more so on DVD
