Summary: a trash
Review: this "movie" is a story of a proud marine commander of United State of America who sweeped of the Yemen savages to protect american citizens... well, what do you expect? one more thing, what makes you more angry is, this "movie" doesn't EVEN have a plot!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wow! Action-pacted, fun, and exciting. I loved it!
Review: My high expections for this film were more than surpasseed. I gained a new respected for the armed services as well as Samuel L. Jackson's amazing acting ability. You might not love this DVD as much as I did, but you'll enjoy it.

Summary: Great War Drama
Review: I am so angry that I had to wait until Sunday to see this movie because my mom had a headache and dragged me into Return to Me, which bored me more, and I'm only 13, so everypme has a right to be surprised I understood and liked this. It has great camera looking, and a deep, rich storyline, in which Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones fight the courts about the murders of nearly 90 Iraqis. Highly recommended.

Summary: Outstanding Movie
Review: As a Desert Storm Marine veteran I find this movie to be true to life. The enemies of the United States are taught from a young age that to kill an American is an honor; to kill a US Marine is worthy of a seat with Allah. The movies portrayal of a political miscreant attempting to conceal, destroy and silence evidence in order to make the military look bad is not at all out of character considering the climate of lying under oath so prevalent today.

Summary: Technically excellent but politically wrong
Review: The movie was technically wonderful, the actors were excellent. The problem was, seldom people would like the movie, Americans cannot accept that they have massacred so many civilians. Arabians don't like to be described as terrorists. Many people would not believe what described in the movie can happen.

However, may be what most people do not believe is reality. I thought the movie was based on the diasater in Mogadishu in 1993. G.I.s was shot and civilians were masscred. I don't want to say who is wrong or who is right, what I want to say is that I thought the movie was close to reality. The movie make me think of the Tianmen Square Event, the bombing of Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia, and the bombing of American embassies in Africa.

Summary: Finally, something from the military point of view
Review: I saw this movie last weekend and enjoyed it thoroughly. The Vietnam scenes in the beginning were believable enough. I'm a Vietnam combat vet, and I could nitpick all of the combat scenes but I'm not going to. The storyline involves what appears (in the beginning) to be a poor decision by a Marine Colonel (who would have been a Captain or a Major in real life), who is then hung out to dry and charged with murder by patronage types in Washington. Most of the movie concerns preparing for the trial, flashbacks, courtroom drama, and emotional scenes between courtroom drama as we approach the ending, which actually surprised me a little. It was refreshing to see a movie delivered from the point of view of career military people who have to deal with so much nonsense in today's world, i.e., corrupt, opportunistic politicians; a corporate media machine peddling its own agenda; a gullible and uniformed public, etc. I thought the acting was above average - both Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson delivered the goods. Also, the actor who played the prosecuting attorney gave an excellent, very believable performance. This was definitely not your typical brain dead Hollywood action formula flick with the usual suspects and the usual attitudes. If you're in the military or concerned about today's military, see this film.

Summary: Could've been better
Review: I thought the "slaughter" was in very bad taste. And what bothers me is that the whole movie centers around that scene from that point in the movie on. When i first saw this movie i thought there were going to me a lot of Arab people upset to this portrayal of their people. I really don't understand why Americans continue to make these kinds of movies. They are just making things worse. If you can look past that scene the movie isn't half bad, but that pretty much ruined it for me.

Summary: P.C. GARBAGE!
Review: As a former Marine rifleman, I have some insights for this film. It is very inaccurate on many fronts. One of the films many faults was the scene involving the slaughter - 84 killed, and over 100 wounded. This was accomplished with about twelve seconds of heavy fire. There were about 6 - 7 Marines firing M-16s, and S.A.W.s. I don't care how good at shooting they are, not even half of those people would've been shot. Also, Most of the hits were in the upper torso and there were many head shots. I've fired under some pretty stressful conditions, and most of the time, with all of your gear on, the sweat in your eyes, you don't hit much other than the ground or the sky. Also, why were there women out in public??? Women are nothing but property in that part of the middle east, and they would've been at home being housewives, or out shopping in large groups of women. Point being, women aren't so-called "empowered" in the middle east, they are kept out of public. Also, what the hell was a full bird Colenol doing on a combat mission? In reality he would've been buried behind 10 miles of desks in Camp Lejune. Another inaccuracy was the race of the top two guys on the mission. 6 percent of the officers in the Marines are black, yet the Colenol and the Captain in charge of the MEU were both black? Come on, how about some realism. The vast majority of infantry officers are white, and they are leutinants. The acting by the two main guys, Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel Jackson were poor, and held no true emotions. The only good acting in the movie was done by the prosecuting attorny, who in fact did a marvelous job at portraying a snotty young Marine lawyer, and you just want to beat his head in by the end of the film. The biggest crime in this film was the lack of true emotion from Jones and Jackson - fake tears, fake voices. They were just going through the motions for the film. The bottom line here is don't waste your money on this film. It's a slap in the face to the Corps

Summary: It's awesome
Review: This is just like the general's daughter. Not very exciting. Very boring, no action or adventure. A very boring film.
