Summary: Please stay away from this movie!
Review: I was hoping that I'd find more negative reviews for this movie here on Amazon. Hopefully, I can aid in the effort to set everyone straight.
This was a horrible movie. I rented 'Dungeons & Dragons'(2000) the week before and ejected the DVD from my player and returned it to the rental store after only 20 minutes of view time. The only reason I watched this turkey was because I loved the first movie so much.
I'd like to point out one thing that I haven't seen anybody else say yet. At about the 30-minute mark in this movie, they started showing flashbacks. Now you'd think that with 3 previous films and six seasons of television episodes to pull from, they'd have plenty of good flashback material. And yet, in Highlander 4, we had to endure flashbacks of something we'd JUST SEEN 10 MINUTES AGO!!!!
Bottom line, it seemed like some writer's 9 year-old child came up with the idea for this movie, and after only a few rewrites, we were presented with this drivel.

Summary: Somebody better feel ashamed of themselves
Review: Is it possible to give negative stars? I felt violated after forcing myself to watch this movie. I knew it wasn't going to be any good before I sat down, but man; it was much worse than I thought. Afterwords, I had to pop in the first film just to remind myself that there was once something called Highlander, something that was good, something that had a bit of heart, that actually made me feel something and eventually take a pilgramage (probably not the best word) to the Scottish Highlands. The clips of the first movie in this one just made it all the more empty and revolting. What was the budget on this, one episode's worth. Check out the second to last scene of the film. Duncan standing in front of what appears to be a styrofoam gravestone with an obvious backdrop of the Highlands behind him. YOU CAN SEE THE LINE WHERE THE FLOOR SET MEETS THE BACKDROP. This doesn't exactly stir any notions of rugged romanticism about the highlands. Not only have the makers lost all integrity, but, I actually have to question Christopher Lambert on this one. I wishfully thought that playing a character as original and special as Conner might mean something to an actor. How could he agree to do this movie. Face morphing at the end? What the..? OK, I've said enough. If you are a fan of the real Highlander (that being the first film and not the series), maybe watch the third film, but in the name of all that is sacred, do not even acknowledge the existence of the 2nd film or this endgame, as I have unfortunately done to write this warning.. I mean review.
"Why does the sun come up. Or are stars just pinholes in the curtain of night? Who knows, Highlander, who knows?

Summary: Horrible film.. stay away!
Review: This movie is literally a slap in the face of all the fan's of both the original 3 films and the television series. The franchise seriously bilked the fan's on this one, and only put the film out to bring in some money and temporarily float an already sinking ship. The producers of Highlander, indeed all the staff (actors, writers, et al) who took part in this farce are all complete sell outs.

This movie does not fit with the series, it doesn't fit with any of the previous films. The second movie fits with one of the other films or series. The third movie is a cheap clone of the first movie and doesn't fit with the series either. Need I say more? It's only called Highlander because if the characters had different names and the title was changed, nobody would ever see this garbage. This is a horrible kick in the teeth to hardcore fan's who hoped and prayed that this film would be the ending we all deserved to 6 years of watching the series.

Shame on the producers for serving up this pile of filth in place of a real film. I hear rumors of a part V, but I hope that never materializes. The franchise has violated their fan's enough and I for one am still sore.

Stay away from this less-than-B movie and spend your money on something worthwhile.

Summary: Don't bother watching it unless you are a Highlander fan
Review: I am a big fan of Highlander TV series, and I like Highlander movie one and three. That didn't help at all, I still think End Game is a bad movie.

I can see why this did so bad in the box office. You need to know the movie and the TV shows very well, or you'll be confused. I wouldn't mind that if the overall movie is done well just for fans, unforturnately that's not the case. Relationships underdeveloped, scene of Duncan and Connor's fight too awkward emotionally, and the plot is not solid enough.

Despite that, there are still three reasons to watch this DVD- Cool action scenes (great sword fights), Connor & Duncan together (yeah!), and the extra features & earlier cut of the movie.

Summary: The theatrical version was better...
Review: Endgame is the best sequel ever made for the Highlander series. Highlander 2 Renegade Version was better than the theatrical, Highlander 3 has no hope (except for Debra Unger), Highlander Endgame was great....IN THEATERS! This DVD version screwed up the mood of the film. The added scenes are pointless and boring. The new ending was impossible and happy (with sad music)! The theatrical edit was the best thing to happen to this film, whoever did it should be commended (just look on disc 2 of the DVD on how bad this movie could have been!).
I enjoyed the theatrical version, and so far, you cannot purchase it. For those of you who never saw the movie in theatres, you will think this is a bad film. Trust me, it was better.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: Let me preface this by saying that if you aren't a fan of the TV Highlander, this movie won't make much sense to you. And even if you are (like me), the plot line was a little hard to follow. If it weren't for that, I would have given it all five stars, but unfortunately, the plot isn't very accessible to fans of the first movie or any of the other movies.

This is all made up for, however, by the fighting scenes which are really remarkable. That alone is worth seeing the movie for! I would really recommend it on that alone.

Summary: A low budget sequel that should have gone straight to video
Review: To anyone who hasn't bought this film or seen it yet, are not missing much. I'm a fan of action films of low grade but this one dissapointed me alot. This is the third sequel to the classic highlander film and was only slightly better then the highlander 2 and 3. The flashbacks were inconsistant and choppy. They were not fluiant with the story and the contrast between the Connor McCloud in films 1 and 4 were night and day again. Endgame was not written to anyone who hadn't watched the series or the first film and that hurts it appeal to anyone new to the story. Its not a wonder this filmed bombed at the box office and it only appeales to die hard highlander fans. I say save your money and only rent it if this film intrigues you because this film is not that great and not worth watching over and over. The main reason to rent it is to watch the torch being handed from Cristopher Lambert to Adrian Paul and informing you that there will be no more highlander films with Christopher Lambert starring in them.

Summary: Q: Is this a waste of time, or what?
Review: Q: What's an Immortal?
A: They are people who can't die.
Q: Are they real?
A: No, stupid, this is a movie. It's made up. Like the Easter Bunny.
Q: So they can't die?
A: Please clean the cabbage out of your ears, that's what I said.
Q: Then how come Immortals sometimes die?
A: Immortals can kill other Immortals.
Q: But you said they couldn't die! THEY said they couldn't die!
A: Will you get off the "die" questions already? Wait! You're supposed to ask the questions!
Q: How come all the Immortals are either hunks or models?
A: Nobody is going to buy a ticket to see Rosie O'Donnel as an Immortal. Wait. Her audience thinks she IS an Immortal. I may have something here for the next sequel: Highlander-RearEndGame.
Q: Why are all the Immortals always all bummed-out?
A: I guess living for 500 or so years, with the ability to acquire unlimited wealth, and keeping those hunk/model good looks is just a burden too much to bear.
Q: Why doesn't the movie make a shred of sense?
A: Now there's an intelligent question about a very non-intelligent movie that makes no sense. I only have one word as your answer: sequelitis.

Summary: LOVED IT!!!
Review: Well, to all you people who say that Endgame wasn't that good, you're all wrong!!! I've seen all the Highlander movies, including the series, and I have to say, Endgame was the best. I think that's because I have the biggest crush on Adrian Paul. He was great in this movie, and he worked well with Lambert. The chemistry was good. And the scenes on Duncan and Kate were good, too(I was extremely jealous of Lisa Babrucia!!!) If you like Adrian Paul, good fight scenes and good storyline, this is the movie for you!!!
