Summary: Rocky 2
Review: This is the most special of the rocky series, as it was the first one I saw. I found it absolutely breathtaking, an amazing performance by the entire cast - It drew me into the entire quintology.

It retains the gripping story of the first (loved by millions) and is a perfect sequel. A great credit to Sylvester Stallone with the script, capturing your emotions throughout the film.

Deffinately on par with Rocky 1. The rest of the sequels take a different view of the champion, but still maintain an excellent storyline, with Rocky 5, being a top finale.

Rocky 2 is simply a must if you enjoyed the first of the series.

Summary: The Rematch Of The Century
Review: This movie had just as much heart as the original. It was just as realistic, just as heartset, and just as expected. A true hero, Rocky follows his true calling, and defends his honor as initiative for this fight, as opposed to winning the title. The film was incredibly emotional through Rocky's eyes, because we see him try to support his family other ways, try to be a good worker, but he knows that his true calling belongs in the ring. The result is what I think to be the most realistic, greatest fight of the series.

Summary: YO ADRIAN!!!........
Review: This review refers to the MGM/UA VHS edition of "Rocky II".....

Sylvester Stallone, who wrote and directed once again, brings us another feel good story in this first of four sequels to "Rocky". Even if you don't like boxing(and yes there are some of us that could do without it), you gotta like these Rocky flicks. This one, with the entire cast reuniting, is nearly as good as the first.

"Rocky II" picks up where "Rocky" left off. Apollo Creed(Carl Weathers) and Rocky(Sylvester Stallone) have beaten each other to a pulp. Apollo, on a split decision, has been declared the champ once again. Poor Rock's injuries are so bad that the Doctors strongly advise him not to fight anymore. He and Adrian(Talia Shire) marry and decide to live a normal life. The Rock tries his hand at acting in commercials, this doesn't work out(not a big surprise there), can't get hired at an office job, and finally ends up working at a meat packing plant where he is promptly laid off. The pregnant Adrian becomes the bread winner and Rocky is feeling very unmanly.

Creed, wanting a re-match, taunts Rocky out into the public and Rocky takes the challenge, against the wishes of Adrian, of course. Mickey(Burgess Meredith), after much coaxing decides to train him, but alas, The Rock's heart is not in it. What will it take for him to be the old Rocky we know and love?

Of course there are the wonderful scenes of Rocky training and getting pumped up for the fight, with all the great "Rocky" music that goes along with it. The intense bout with Creed is outstanding. Can Rocky go the distance this time...well...you know.....

The lines are priceless...after Rocky gets out of the hospital, a reporter asks.." Hey Rocky, did ya get any brain damage?", and Rocky's answer..."Yo, I don't see any.." There's a ton of those. Oh and don't forget the irrepressible Pauly(Burt Young), he's back too and in rare form!

Now I know, most everybody has seen this, and I didnt really need to tell you what it's about. It's just a little refresher on how good these movies make us feel. I watch them often and always find myself smiling. It's a series to be enjoyed by the whole family(if you haven't seen"Rocky V", don't stress over it) and for future generations to come.

The VHS is a a pretty good picture and the sound is in Dolby Surround(stereo), and also fairly decent.

"Yo Adrian...I DID IT!"(Rocky)......Laurie

Summary: Sylvester Stallone's Rocky II
Review: This was a great sequel to the original Rocky. It starts when Rocky(Sylvester Stallone) and Apollo Creed(Carl Weathers) are rushed to the hospital and Rocky is challenged to a rematch. After the surgery, Rocky asks Adrian(Talia Shire) to marry him. So Rocky and Adrian get married and Rocky plans to settle down and retire. But when Apollo starts taunting him on telivision, Rocky accepts the challenge, so Rocky asks Mickey(Burgess Merideth) to train him. This was problably the second or thrid best in the series.

Summary: Just a poor remake
Review: To see Rocky doing the same things again is just plain boring. And how come Stallone didn't seem his usual self in this film. It should have been titled :Rocky 2 How to ruin a good film

Summary: The Wrath of Apollo Strikes Back
Review: Well, it ain't like it's much of a spoiler, but... Rocky™ wins in the end, though it took the kinda gimmicky both-men-down-for-the-count ploy to add to the suspense. After all, do you think there'd have been a Rocky™ III, IV, V, and (it is rumored) VI if our beloved pugilist underdog choked? Of course not! And as you'd expect, Mickey™ is still as cantankerous as ever, Paulie™'s still a sponging, alcoholic slob, Apollo™ still has his pride, and there's the obligatory moment of domestic strife between the hero & the Missus that always seems to flare up whenever there's a lull in the drama. Throw in the usual training montage with the Gonna Fly Now © song playing throughout followed by the highly choreographed match at the climax, and you've got yourself the usual formula that the subsequent sequels would follow...

Summary: Rocky II (1979)
Review: Well, it had to be made. Rocky has to win the title, right? Of course! As I've said before, I'm not a fan of sequels although I do make exceptions and this is one of them. When you have such a good screenplay and character depth with a movie, a sequel can be great. (i.e., The Godfather Part II) Rocky II is a very good movie in it's own right despite having the familiar title of "Rocky" in it. Unlike Rocky II, far too many sequels have you thinking back to the original instead of thinking about what's ahead and for this reason they fail.

Summary: Best sequel of the series
Review: While I think that the original film Rocky stands on it's own because of it's beautiful simplicity, the sequels givbe us more of teh characters we fell in love with. In this film , the character reaches a new kind of low because he learned that proving himself once isn't going to solve all his problems. Some of the saddest moments of the series(Adrian's coma, Rocky's rejection from various jobs) and the most memorable(Rocky running with the kids up the steps, "Adrian I did it!"). It had the best choreographed fight of the series , an intense battle in every sense of the word. My only complaint is that the movie sometimes comes off as too sentimental to the point where it feels corny and Rocky's character becomes something of a joke--in the first one he was a little dim , in this sequel he seems comedically retarded. However , these points do not take away from the overall enjoyment of the film.
