Summary: No End
Review: This one ends the same as the first two: With a cliff-hanger. Some questions get answered, but there still is no ending. And since it was made quite a few years ago, I doubt there will be any more.

Summary: Great series, worst menu ever
Review: This third season of the animated Spawn is more of the good stuff - its dark, compelling and interesting. The ending has obviously got a 4th season in mind, which is not going to happen as far as I know. I highly recommend all three seasons of Spawn.

Do be aware that the menu for this disc is the worst design ever in the history of ever. On my player (a PS II):
a) it defaults to the commentary, not the normal sound for the film. Fix this by scrolling through to "Languages", but note you have to do this every time you put the disc in the player.
b) the menu starts at "Play movie" and an arrow. Use the arrow to move to the next menu option. You then have to wait for the music to play, stop and then start again. Once its done that you can access that option or scroll through further.

Immense pain, terrible design. BUT its Spawn and its excellent content, so love the disc, hate the menu.

Summary: the best spawn yet
Review: this, in my opinion is the best spawn out of the three ive seen(1,2, and 3...are there more? i hope so..). it has the best plot, and a lot of doors are finally opened. the first spawn was very good, but left too many things unanswered(things that arent mentioned at all in the others, that is), and spawn 2 was somewhat boring, but still an ok film. now this is brilliant. gripping tale, great action, and even some good ol' emotion(heaven forbid!) that you would never expect in a series like this. however, see the other two first, then this. thats the only way you can totally appreciate it's genious.

Summary: Excellent, but probabely not for hardcore christians.
Review: To me, this video was made to make up for that ridiculous live-action movie. What makes the whole series so tight is that it gets better and better as it progresses. It is definately one of the most realistic horror, animated videos I've ever seen. I mean the characters act like real people and I alsolike the background music because it goes real well with the rest of the video. I remember a comment that Todd McFarlane made. It was that he'd rather have no cartoon at all than have one of those Saturday morning cartoons which are stereotypically made for children. I understand exactly howhe felt. I loved the X-Men but I hated when a character like Wolverine couldn't even use his claws to the fullest effect because it was a children's show. The only thing I don't really like about "Spawn" is that they made it as if the war between Heaven and Hell was merely a myth and to make it worse they made it where God would actually recruit that fiendish vampire-girl to destroy the Hell-Spawn(Like God's that desperate). I know I'm not a saint but, man, that seems a little bit too far. Overall, this is an excellent video and I can't wait for the fourth video of the series. Any comic book fan would definately have to like this. (In my opinion "Spawn" is not for kids because it has content for mature audiance AND I think it would be too boring to them anyway)

Summary: Awesome... But Something Wasn't Right
Review: Todd McFarlane did a great job with the first two seasons but it seams he took a completely different road in this one. The story and suspense were still great, better than the first two, but Spawn (the series not the character) went from very serious bringing out important details every know and then in the first two to being very um well...the emotional type, you'll really see what I mean when Spawn and Jade meet for the second time. It still retains that dark isolated feeling but it looks like they slacked off when it came to the animation of Spawns face w/o his mask. Either way it continues how the rest left off-beginning and ending with more unanswered questions than you can keep track of. What ever happened to Angela?

Summary: A Thrilling Conclusion.....
Review: Todd McFarlane is a Comic genius. He created one of the best Animated series' in history. This story is great, but it would take too long to tell you the story, there is no easy way to sum it up. The best advice I could give would simply be to NOT buy this until you have seen the 1st two, otherwise, you will hate it, and not understand it.
There is only 1 downfall to this show, it leaves you hanging in a place that makes you beg for more. I was quite upset about it, until I found out T-McFarlane will eventually start on Season 4 (thank God!!). But it is a good buy, and a good addition to all DVD collections (unless you dont have the first two). Dont ever buy the Spawn Live Action Movie!! EVER!!

Summary: American Animation Rarely Gets Better Than This!
Review: Until I first saw the first season of Spawn (and that's when the first tape just hit stores), I knew nothing of it. I saw the tape for Spawn I on the shelf at Best Buy, and it was labeled at "adult." That was a turn-on right there. I baught it, and I ended up loving it! When a second part came out, I fell in love with that. And then the thrid part came out -- even *more* exciting! Now, I am eagerly (and a bit impaciantly) waiting for the next part (IV).

Spawn by *no means* is for the weak-hearted or people turned off by graphic adult content. Be noted of that explicitly. But I like that stuff okay, but what's really grabbed me is how well the story is told. It's awesome! *Very* well done and mature. It's riviting, exciting, and deep. The animation is superb and high-quality, and the voice for Al Simmons (Spawn) (Keith David, who played Goliath for Disney's Gargoyles, another great show) is perfect! The length of each film -- each 130+ minutes -- is, for me, perfect, as I *love* long features, and they are not over-long; they are perfect for what they are showing and need to present.

Spawn is very dark and not very up-beat, but neither is Spawn's life and real life in general. I like dark, though. I find Spawn to be of a very high quality of entertainment and production. The writers are great, acting, everything. I wish America made more animated feautures of this quality and standard -- not necessarily this adult, but of the standards it has set for production, writing, ect., definately! Now if only America will get over this thing that animation is for young children and think like Japan that animation is an art for everyone, we'll be set! Live-action movies are made for all the audiences; so why can't animated features be so? I know they are made, but not in abundance, unfortunately.

I can't wait for the next part; I *gotta* know what's going to happen next! HBO *can't* stop now; not when the series is *this* far involved! I don't see why they should stop, if keeping the peoples' attention is a problem. I mean, there are nine Firday The 13th movies, and how many Land Before Time films have been made? Six, seven? They all just got dumb as each sequel was made. Spawn has retained a very high standard, and the story progresses with each part. I very honestly hope a fourth season is being made and will release soon. I really, really do!

If you are looking for high-qualilty animations with serious story lines and real, deep character development, this could very well be what you are looking for.

Please, HBO, don't stop production of this high-quality program! Keep it going, and keep Keith David doing the voice of Spawn!
