Summary: The Car Carries Over Into A New Millenium
Review: In tradition of thriller movies with cars with no drivers, "The Car" is probably and most notably the best. In most other movies involving cars possessed, they are vulnerable to their adversaries crunches with their own vehicles. We do not see this in The Car. The car withstands bullets, a deadly head on collision and etc. I also believe that "The Car" was the inspiration for the USA network made for television movie "Wheels of Terror". We can see similar traits that both films possessed , even in the style of the car and its origin from the desert. I give this film a high rating and recommed others to watch it.

Summary: Spooky movie
Review: Like some of the other reveiwers, I saw this first when I was young and loved it. Every once in a while I would catch it halfway over on TBS and always stopped what I was doing to watch it. I can't give it 5 stars but it is a great horror movie, with plenty of scary music (the Dies Irae from the requiem mass, mostly) and creepy shots of the Car's front tire rolling over body parts and french horns. When the Car kill's Brolin's girlfriend is by far the scariest part of the movie. If I heard that horn right now...

Summary: THE CAR is boss!
Review: There are those that think this film is actually a satire of JAWS. So whether it is unintentionally silly or intentionally silly is a matter of some debate. Of this I am certain, if Ulitmate Evil ever came to earth as a car in the seventies IT WOULD LOOK LIKE THIS! Watching The Car doing its thing always brings smile to my face (Everett Creach's stunt driving is nothing short of spectacular here) and my rear to the edge of the seat.

I am just glad the goshdarned thing FINALLY came out on video, and letterboxed to boot. Anchor Bay has done a wonderful job with this delightfuly odd little horror movie. Now if only the soundtrack music was released so I would have something to listen to while I drive.

Summary: Best Car / road movie I can think of! All time FAVE ! B-)
Review: The best, this is the best, my fave for all time! Wanna see the most astonishing car-crash special effects sequence in movie history? Wanna see better car-chase scenes than Bullit? THIS IS IT! Old Nick on a Sunday drive - whatta smashing (pardon the pun!) premise! The "Car" of the title does everything the average motorist can only fantasize about doing to other road-users, pedestrians etc. No doubt an exlpoitation movie, but WHATTA RIDE (no pun, this)! Goferrit!

Summary: The Car - The Scariest Movie I Ever Saw
Review: I watched this movie in the mid seventies with my three children huddled on the couch with me. Each of them had a blanket that they would hide under. They were seven years old, six and five. I was a forty five year old man. Before "The Car" was over, I was under a blanket too. This is the scariest movie I have ever seen.

Summary: An entertaining ride.
Review: Before Christine, there was The Car, an old fashion thriller about mysterious car drive to the town of new mexico and the car start hunting people down. The Town People think is it, somebody driving the car or the car itself.

Good Performances From James Brolin and Ronny Cox. A well acted and fine direction from Elliot Silverstien. Grade:B+. Panavision.

Summary: The Car
Review: Wow! I cannot believe I found this movie. For the past 10 years, I have not seen it and have been looking for it all over--video stores, online, searches. This was THE scariest movie for me as a child as I remember watching it on Saturday late-night TV from 11:30-1:00am. I went to bed terrified and hiding under the sheets. I was 12 or 13 when I watched this and now at 29 I'm sure I'll have flashbacks from the first time I saw it. Can't wait to buy it!
