Summary: Overrated Movie
Review: This is a good story but there's much that doesn't make sense. There is strange moments and sometimes I have to look scenes again that I would totally understand what's happening. Of course, there's good scenes that is great to see again. There's good effects and some moments are brilliant. The actors are very good but the film could have been much better!

Summary: A MUST-OWN!
Review: This is a great DVD for the collection! Not only do you get the film that is, in my opinion, the best ever made, but you also get hours of in-depth special features! Cannot wait to get the Deluxe Edition DVD in November! Movie/DVD Grade: A+

Summary: The Best Ever
Review: This is a great DVD! It is worth every penny! There are so many things to explore. And you learn a lot on how the movie was made. The Bag-End Set Scene is a must see! And also the Audio Commentary with the cast. That was excellent! Two words: BUY THIS! You can't go wrong.

Summary: Much better then the theatrical release
Review: This is a great DVD. The extended and new scenes bring the movie much closer to the book. Unfortunately some things from the book never made it into the movie. This was a highly entertaining DVD. I'm looking forward to The Two Towers.

Summary: Great Movie, great release
Review: This is a great movie, and a great release. Harkening back to the sprawling epics of the 50's and 60's, here we have a summer (or rather, winter) blockbuster with a plot, and not only a plot, but a good one!
About the DVD release: true, it is amazing. And true, the expanded edition of the film is better. but there are tons of extras, which is generally a good thing, but I doubt the vast majority of those who buy this set will ever watch all of the extras. So if you are concerned about the monetary expense, it might be better not to splurge and instead by the cheaper version, which is also pretty good. Personally, I own both releases, even as there is no doubt the more expensive one is superior. If you were enchanted by the books, or even if you just saw the movie and liked it, you should definitely consider buying one of the DVD versions.

Review: This is a great movie, and an even better movie to show off your home theater sound. what are you waiting for?

Summary: The book is still better but...
Review: This is a great movie. I wasn't surpised that Jackson decided to leave out a few minor characters and the parts where they stop to sing every 150 meters, that gets a little old in the books. The problem with a movie is that it can never equal the readers imagined world. However, it is difficult to imagine any movie ever coming closer than this one.

I thought the special effects were better than the latest star wars installment, especially the balrog and all the tricks they do with Gandalf and the Hobbits height. The theme of the story is well presented in the movie, they don't insult your intelligence with beating you over the head with it 10 times, (Like Fight Club did, but I like that movie too.) They only reason I would give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I am far too picky about movies for my own good and this movie didn't have quite enough of an impact on me to elevate it to 5 star status. I would give it 4 and a half if I could.

Summary: Great movie!
Review: This is a great movie. This movie has great acting, great special effects and lot's of action. The thing that really suprised me was that even under all the pressure that the characters go through in the movie they don't cuss once, and I respect that. This movie is rated PG-13 for violence, but it is still a great movie. Some of the images may be scary for ages 1 -11. Her's a little advice don't read the books after you've seen the movie, (like me) you will get things mixed up.
