Review: Definatly have to see the first one first. Once you understand the plot you have to see it! Wrestler "The Rock" did a magnificantly divine job and Brendan Fraser was absoulutly amazing. Mixed with suspense, action, and a taste of laughter, you've got to see it!

Summary: good acion movie!
Review: This movie is practically overflowing with swashbuckling action! If you are looking for a good summer movie this is your movie! Its about basically the Scorpion King(the Rock)trying to take over the world(or destroy it!)and he has two obstacles in his destructive path O'Connel family and Impotempt(not sure if this is the right way to spell his name!)!Of course like most swashbuckling action adventure movies its very entertaining with practically no plot! But I LOVED it!When this baby gets out on DVD I'm getting it!It was a great combination of action and comedy(your typical summer blockbuster!).So if your looking for a great blockbuster to go to,or just want to see one before Pearl Harbor comes out, this your movie!(I'm really 14!)

Summary: Great if you like nothing but action...
Review: Thinking this movie would be a good one, I went to go see it, and turned out that it wasn't all I expected.

Throughout the movie, there was nothing but action. At first I enjoyed it, but then when I noticed there was almost no dialouge, I began to have second thoughts. It would've been nice if they actually talked for more then five or ten minutes.

Even at thier home the action began. Then the wife was kidnapped. Then Right after they rescue the wife, the son is kidnapped. INSTANTLY after. That was kind of stupid.

Throughout the entire movie, there was only about 20 minutes of dialouge, and then a lot of action. Though it does throw in comedy, I just didn't laugh all that much when it was followed up by another action sequence, or when it was just after an action sequence.

Then there were some things that just weren't explained. I never saw the first one, and they bring out this box with a curse. They didn't explain it, nothing about it. Then they just tossed it aside like it was nothing. From what I heard it was in the first mummy movie, but I never saw it! So what the hell was the purpose of bringing the box up in the first place!

It was good, but I don't like to see nothing but action. I want to see them actually talk like normal people. I want to see them do something other then fight all the time. I want them to actually talk for a moment.

Those who went to go see The Rock would be disappointed. (I don't watch wrestling, it just looked good.) Being that he's only in the movie twice. At the beginning and at the end.

He was the scorpian king, and only said three words in egyptian. At the end he wasn't even real. He was just a computer generated image. It was nothing but action.

Go see it, but see the first one before hand. You'll get it more.

Summary: The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.
Review: Basically the Mummy Returns has some good and some bad points to it.

The Good; The cast of actors did a very good job with their roles. Specially Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz and Freddie Boath as Rick, Eve, and Alex O'Connell. They played a family pretty effectively and it was fun to watch them to do in every scene.

The Bad; This movie was rushed into production and you can see this in many of the CGI effects. Most look fake and needed more work, but due to budget and release date up-coming, they clearly were working on a tight timetable and thus the finished effects do not look good in many places.

The Ugly; This film has no script and Stephen Sommers needs to work more on getting the screenplay to be a better story.

End result; You have an entertaining movie, but it really is no where near the quality that we see in the Indiana Jones films, and maybe it was never ment to be.

Summary: Makes the first movie make a lot more sense
Review: Of course the movie was totally cheesy, but so was the first one. The second movie answers some questions brought about after the first movie. And if anyone is wondering about Rick's tattoo on his right arm, it very well could have been there in the first movie, because he was wearing a leather wrist band for the entire movie.

Anyway, I thought The Mummy Returns was a decent sequel, although a little disappointing that the Rock did not appear in the movie for more than 10 minutes. Aside from that the story gave the audience much more background information and tied up the loose ends. Now of course this movie seems much more far fetched than the first, isn't that the point?

If you liked the first Mummy, then you will enjoy The Mummy Returns. The best part is all the original characters reprised their roles, so there was no need for introductions (minus the Scorpion King). My advice to all - sit back relax, and enjoy the loud, thundering, soundtrack and amazing special effects and you will completely forget about the little corny cliches. All around a good family flick and an enjoyable movie night experience.
