Summary: Superb
Review: Scarface is a great movie! Pacino at his best. This is one of his best roles along with Scent of a Woman and the Godfather movies! If you are a Pacino fan, you can't ignore this film. The movie is 2 hrs and 50 minutes but it seems short because it is so dam entertaining! However, there are scenes that are shown on broadcast TV that are not included in the VHS version like the scene where Montana is trying to call his sister on the telephone and another where he and and Steven Bauer watch a old Humphrey Bogart flick. This puzzles me

Summary: Al Pacino is Awesome!!!!!
Review: Buy this movie if you're a Pacino Fan. He gives an awesome performance as "Scarface". I would rank this as one of his best movies ever. It's got some good one-liners.

Summary: Still looks good after 15 years
Review: How I remember watching this film in a Chicago movie theater in 1984. The audience actually cheered when Tony Montana turned the tables on the chainsaw-wielding Colombians to such grisly effect early in the action. For those days it was an exceptionally brutal movie, but the reason why it still looks good after 15 years is not because of the violence but because it is a genuine morality tale about immigration, the American dream, nothing succeeding and failing like excess, and too many guns chasing too much coke. Whoever described it as an allegory of impotence also had a point (so to speak). It doesn't quite deserve a five-star rating because 1) it's too long and 2) the attempt to portray Montana as motivated partly by a deranged possessiveness toward his sister is never very convincing. But Al Pacino carries the day - a wonderful performance.

Summary: The famous saying, "Bo knows sports, Al knows gangsters"
Review: This is Al's best movie since The Godfather movies. Al can play a Cuban and Italian gangster, a cop in Heat, a loving bank robber in Dog Day Afternoon, a good-looking ex-convict cook in Frankie & Johnnie, a lawyer in In Justice For All, satan in The Devil Adovocate and play a Shakespearean character in Looking For Richard. Al has played it all. What role has he not played. Scarface is his movie ever. He should had won an Oscar for this movie.

Summary: sensational
Review: Simply a masterpiece. The trials and tribulations of Tony Montana have inspired both young and old throughout the world. A violent yet moving epic of a refugee's attempt to suceed in a harsh new world.

Summary: "Say Hello To My Little Friend"
Review: Fantastic movie. Fast paced and riveting, non-stop action packed which I am having trouble getting hold of in a VHS Australian format. Can anyone help?? (jlm@anzsec.com.au)

Summary: NOT Pacino's Finest
Review: I guess that I am going to disagree with everyone else who reviewed the movie. This movie was NOT THAT GOOD. I guess that if I had seen this movie when it first came out, I might think of it as a "classic". Also, at that time, I wouldn't have been comparing it to Pacino's performances in Carlito's Way, Donnie Brasco and Scent Of A Woman. However, since I DID see how great Pacino could be in those other movies first, Scarface just seemed overly long, contrived and - in the end - just plain stupid.

I know that I won't change any of your minds, but maybe someone who has read all of your rave reviews will read mine and think twice before plunking down the cash to see "Pacino's greatest performance ever". Get the other movies I mentioned first.

I would be giving this movie 2 stars, but I DO really like Pacino's accent in this movie - so he gets another star.

Jeremy
