Summary: Please, can we have a directors cut?
Review: Hollywood can really ruin some movies sometimes. I would like to see the original ending. I am sure that it would gain the other two stars. In this movie there are a number of intellectual points which seem to have escaped the published reviewers like Leonard Maltin. There was also a great deal of foreshadowing that just fell off to nowhere with the relining at the end. The filmotography gets all screwed up when the camera goes from glorious widescreen images to looking up the actors noses for a couple of the lines when it hadn't before. The ending got ruined by hollywood not Costner. This is a five star film with a one star ending which nets three stars. I watch it again and again, but when it comes to the ending I just turn it off and imagine what it should be.

Summary: Great Movie - Don't believe the trash talk
Review: I never understood the bad ratings this movie got. I thought it was very good. Maybe its because I saw it on DVD and not in the theater but this is one I watch over and over. Give it a try - you'll probably like it!

Summary: An Outstanding Film
Review: See the widescreen version to fully appreciate the scope of this movie. It's an epic, through and through. James Newton Howard did the score, and it's a beauty. Hearing the sound over surround sound speakers is the coolest. This movie is a classic that will please a lot of people, just not the cynics(and there are a lot of you out there I see)

Summary: .
Review: It isn't THAT terrible, as many critics and viewers have often said. The epic scope and attention to gritty and compelling detail are still here, left over from Dances With Wolves. But it doesn't rise much above that. The story is interesting but is handled clumsily, and some of the direction is painfully pretentious and silly. The performances aren't entirely lackluster (some of the secondary characters are fairly good, as in Dances With Wolves), but Costner is no more of a treat to watch than usual, still playing the same laid-back, good liberal with his typical hazy disregard of endowing the character he plays with anything other than his own aspiration to appear as a subtle, noble, romantic hero and love interest. There were a couple points where the film was really beginning to pull me in a bit, but this was almost unfailingly ruined by something silly and poorly done. On the whole, it's lukewarm at best.

Summary: The worst movie ever
Review: This is absolutely, beyond a doubt, the worst movie I have ever seen. I shook my head in disbelief that they could actually make something so terrible.

Summary: One of the greatest movies of all time
Review: I believe that this may be the best movie I have ever seen. It is very profound. Taking place in a world ravaged by nuclear war, one man dares to stand up against tyranny and oppression and be counted for something he believes in, even though he stumbles across his belief quite by accident. This film is about what we can become, united by a common good, as a nation, to put aside all petty differences, and fight for what is right even in the face of death and impossible odds. Freedom is never cheap, and must always be paid for in blood, which makes it that much more precious. Once again the critics have failed to see, understand, and comprehend the significance of this film. It is not about what we as a nation are, but what we can become.

This movie has a tremendous plot, and will draw you in with its truth, and leave you stunned, in awe. The acting is great, and it has some incredible cinematography. It clocks in at just under three hours long, on one video cassette, but I promise you will not be disappointed. It transpires the original novel by David Brin, which it follows only loosly, and encapsulates the human race. In short, just a really good flick.

Summary: EXCELLENT MOVIE! AUSGEZEICHNET!
Review: I can't BELIEVE the critics dissed this movie; "The Postman" certifiably rocks! It's my third favourite movie of all time (right after Titanic and Before Sunrise...Kate Winslet and Julie Deply rule!) It's a really patriotic and moving film; I was enthralled from start to finish. Don't believe the critics! We believe in you, Kevin Costner!

Summary: Real Americanism
Review: This film dares to challenge the naysayers of our age, the corporate despots, the get-rich-quick salesmen, the plantation mythologists, the white supremacists, the so-called "Freemen", and all those other members of the Confederacy of Dunces who strive to tear down our sacred community, America. I predict that the following for this moving film will grow and convert the nation to a new hope, based not on military prowess or bullyism, but on respect for others and cherished regard for the institutions ~which we create together~. It is for all those who are sick of the politics of division and hate, who want national unity based on respect for one's fellow humans.

Summary: Costner's Vastly Underrated Classic
Review: This movie is fantastic. It's great. It's a big Hollywood movie that is about something great. It's nothing like you've ever seen before. Costner has a great vision. His girlfriend in this movie is hot, hot, hot! Will Patton is one nasty bad guy, but I kept remembering him from No Way Out and snickered a bit. All in all, screw the critics and see it for yourself. If you've already got your mind made up from listening to the critics, forget it. Go in with an open mind.

Summary: A Movie for Everyone
Review: This is a fantastic movie for absolutely anyone. If you like romance, the story includes a beautiful storyline for the romantic in all of us. If it is action you seek, the bold battle scenes will leave you clinching your pillow. It's got drama, suspense, action, romance, and yes, comedy as well. This movie is a must-see for people of all ages, male AND female. SEE IT, YOU WON'T BE SORRY! Cheers to Costner for this truly spectacular performance.
