Summary: Terrible!
Review: This was the stupidest movie I have ever seen! Awful acting! Vin Diesel made guys like Arnold Swartzenagger look like Oscar material. Samual L Jackson was awful in this movie too, and he's usually a great actor. The one liners that were supposed to be funny weren't, the action scences made you laugh. Like the part where he jump over the house on a motorbike and is able to shoot some guy in mid-air. I would give this 0 starts if I could.

Summary: Don't buy this crap
Review: If you want a real spy thriller movie go see "Die Another Day" and watch it on DVD. I saw this when it came out to the theatres and trust me it's a big ripoff. Everything in it is Diesel's 007 impersonation. He's jealous for one thing: he's not Bond, James Bond.

Summary: Ultimate Popcorn Movie, and As Such It Works Well
Review: [Actually, my rating is 3.5 though I liked it pretty much.]

Contrary to many reviewers, I went to see "XXX" just to see Asia Argento, daughter of famous horror maestro Dario. Of course, I knew Vin Diesel and Sam Jackson, and a greta fan of the latter. Also, I have seen Vin's great sci-fi thriller "Pitch Black," but to me, she is the one to see.

Anyway, "XXX" proved two following things; Vin Diesel is the action star of the next generation (another candidate is, probably, the Rock), and his name will be much more famous than he is now. (Actually while I was watching Serie A games, Italian football games on cable TV, his name was shown extensively in the ads on the ground.) He deserves much attention from us, and his metoric rise of career surely comes from his charisma, which can be easily seen in this otherwise OK action film.

The plot of "XXX" about the instant-made spy with 'I-am-BAAAAAD' attitude is not new. Sam Jackson's role as a reluctant boss handling the most desperate case of international terrorism (and this hopeless novice spy) seems, or is, too clithed. But Vin Diesel fits so well in the key role of Xander Cage, most daredevil extreme sports expert, that no one cares many plot holes there, or the stunts and explosions obviously helped greatly by CGIs.

The other thing "XXX" shows is that, like many other James Bond films, the female parts are less effectively used. Asia Argento, herself already having made a long career as an actress and even a director (this part of career she and Vin Diesel both share), plays Yelena, a mystrious girl from Russia, standing next to the mastermind of the secret organization 'Anarchy 99" which contemplates something, but you soon realize the truth about her and her identity. Like any 'Bond Girl' you pick, she is there to help and love the hero, and maybe she should be so. But I wanted more from her part, just all right as it is.

Hyper-actions galore (on the rousing chase scenes on the river, on the snow-capped mountains, and even on the stairs of Prague ... the last one using some unique thing for skateboard), "XXX" delivers as much as any action flick fans expect. However, it is not the Bond-like gimmicks or action scenes that attract you most. It is Vin Diesel, whose unexpectedly soft eyes betray that this guy cannot be really evil. And the film finally proves that. That is what we call predictable, but in this case, Vin's presence barely makes you forget the fact.

Summary: Speechless.....
Review: What can I say? Oh WOW. I thought the movie was FANTASTIC!! Vin Diesel did a superb job as the "scum of the earth" punk guy: "I like anything fast enough to do something stupid in." (I love his "Kiss my [...] Scarface" attitude -- it's absolutely insolent and rude... it really fits the basic character at first.)

There were definitely some good one-liners -- there were a... few.... suggestive scenes, but those overlooked, I was amazed at the great preformances and nonstop action. I found myself crying with Elina, laughing with Xander (Vin Diesel), and getting very close to diving under the couch when he blows up half the gang with his band-aid bombs. Let me tell you -- explosions get LOUD.

Unfortunately, not everyone agreed with my 5 star rating -- my parents were pretty bored with the constant guns 'n bombs attitude -- "finished your pop, finished your snack, finished your dinner finished your tea... have they finished fighting yet?"

The plot was okay. It was pretty easy: Xander was yanked out of his comfortable punk life and tested several times by the NSA (a secret agent group). He was then sent into the "real" fight. He has to infiltrate a Czek terrorist group called "Anarchy '99" on the pretences of wanting 10 cars for an anonymous company. He does that well, and gets the info -- then the tricky part comes: Going deeper, and figuring out what they're doing without being caught and killed.

He makes friends there, especially the lovely Eilana, the "woman" of the leader of the gang.

One of my many favorite scenes is at the end when Samuel L. Jackson rings up on Xander's computer phone and says that he passed the "test". I laughed so hard! I take that as a good sign, as perhaps there'll be a sequel.

"Xander.... Xander, I know you're there -- our GPS picked you up... Good news! You passed the test!"

I'll leave the rest to you -- BUY it and WATCH IT!!

"You're in the Xander zone now..."

Summary: xxxtreme action & stunts
Review: When I first seen this movie in theaters back in August, at first I thought it was gonna [be bad], but it turned out to really good action picture. Can't wait for the sequel when that's released. Vin Diesel (Fast and the Furious) does wonderful job as extreme sports star-turned secret agent Xander Cage, and Samuel L. Jackson does a [great] job as a wisecracking NSA agent who recruits him to stop an evildoer. Rob Cohen does a good job directing an action picture like this and is writting the script for the sequel ... . It's kinda like James Bond on steroids, but it's pretty enjoyable

Summary: X-treme, X-citing, X-cellent
Review: "XXX" is one of those movies you shouldn't take seriously at all, but just sit for the ride. So that means stiff board movie critics shouldn't waste anybody's time by bitching about how bad this movie is. It's just entertainment. Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) sporting his best Mr. Clean, has just been recruited by the National Security Agency and he has to stop a crazy man who wants to do something bad to Prague. Immoral man. A Russian agent (Asia Argento) foils Cage's plans. The stunts are out-of-this-world. I mean, I USED to ride motorcycles over rooftops while they were caving into fire. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who can do that. "Witches come." What a great line that was. Rob Cohen directed this jumbled insta-classic. "I live for this stuff!"

Summary: xXx is amazing
Review: I just went to see this film at the cinema over in the UK and i though it was a great film. The reason for this is because i could not believe how much of a good film this was and that i loved it, the way it was action from start to finish and there was not that many scenes of girls like what a normal action thriller would have? They kept it low key!! As my fave actor is Vin Diesel i thought he was great in this film he really took the charactor to the limit.

I would give it more than 5 stars but as i cant ill give it 5 anyway!!!!

Summary: Dumb but not as much fun
Review: Continuing the dumb but "fun" formula started with THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS, the hotshot duo of director Rob Cohen and star Vin Diesel have combined their efforts to bring another silly, plot-lite action-fest to the screen. I saw XXX (Or Triple X) in the cinema with my expectations set somewhere between Fast and the Furious and James Bond, and I wasn't that impressed. Ok, don't get me wrong, I like brainless movies. After all, I think CON AIR is fantastic entertainment. But there is a standard rule: If the movie is dumb, then it has to be fun. This is not. Billed as competition for the James Bond franchise, it falls far short of such heights. Lacking both the wit, panache and subtlety of Bond and the fun silly action of Bruckheimer, it's going to have to set it's sights a bit lower. Oh, and what's with Vinny himself? the incredible hunk was good in PITCH BLACK and TFATF, but he looks like he's just sleepwalking through this jumbled mess. I actually give the film 2 1/2 stars but there are some good action set-pieces and Samuel L. Jackson is always cool. XXX is much more satisfying if you just want to watch endless stunts and fall asleep in the talky bits. But if the team of Mr. Cohen and Mr. Deisel are going to continue making movies together, how about letting Mr. Script join in?
