Summary: Stylistic animation limits appeal, + disney politics =yuck
Review: Disney again shows it's disdain for white male authority figures. In this case, they get the pleasure of demonizing the
military as well. As soon as the captain of the submarine is introduced I had a sneaking suspicion that by the end of the film he would be screaming his fool head off in a maniacal tangent. Boy, was I right. Disney movies seem to love taking pot shots at any character that shows physical prowess, is in the army, or shows proficiency with a rifle. Sooner or later, you can expect this character to burst out and reveal his dangerous, destructive motives. Think Tarzan with the hunter character, or Beauty and the Beast with the hunter character, or Pocahontas with the...HUNTER CHARACTER. These are the same lantern jawed power seekers repeated through the Disney archives.
I have a theory that the Disney writers and animators were themselves the pencil necked wannabees in high school and college who lived in envy of those who played football and got all the glory.
This is their own form of payback, to turn the world against men with strength and skill and ambition, one cartoon movie at a time.
I did like the action and the comic book style of the animation, but my kid and the kids in the neighborhood didn't like it. ... the movie didn't register.

Summary: Utterly Disappointing
Review: When I think of Disney, I do NOT think of an un-even film that depends upon horrible animation and an even poorer plot...yet this is exactly what I received with 'Atlantis'. As for the use of a mythical and historically unproven (as yet) hypothesis as a story line, I think it's time to go back to the drawing board.

Summary: blah
Review: If Disney wants to do anime they should hire people who know how to do anime. They gave it a good shot but completely missed their target. I really don't like this mixture of CGI and animation. It should either be all CGI or all animation. Mixing them looks weird and out of place. If you want to see a good movie buy Akira.

Summary: Great Animation . . . . a little dry story wise.....
Review: If those of you who have seen Atlantis and thought that it was great. Then you should
GO WATCH Hayao Miyazaki's (aka Walt Disney of the East) anime "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" (1986 ), and THEN will you understand what a REAL search-for-lost-city animation is all about. The story in that is by far FAR FAR more original than Atlantis's story.
Remember this name HAYAO MIYAZAKI. HAYAO MIYAZAKI IS GOD OF ANIMATION. MHaa HAHAHAHAHA.....

Any how.Enough of my nonsense. ive enjoyed Allantis, Get the DVD, its still an eye-candy animation of last year's.

PS (Atlantis is SURPRISINGLY similar to an anime called Nadia: Secret of blue water, which was made 10 year ago.....)

Summary: A change did Disney good!
Review: None of the characters sings, and there ain't too many cute characters, that's what's so good about Disney's 'Atlantis - The Lost Empire', it's a story about a crew that takes on a marvellous journey to Atlantis, but some of the crew members can't be trusted...
This is the perfect Disney cartoon for the elder fans of this genre, and also Michael J. Fox fans.

Summary: Have I Seen This Before? Feeling A Little Disappointed
Review: I found Disney's newest work "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" a little disappointing though as a whole it was not as bad as some people say.

However, the flaw is too visible; though the image and design are both perfect, the story and character are too weak to make the film totally a absorbing one like other Disney films. For example, too many characters are introduced. Milo the protagonist encounters THREE female characters. This is one too many, and consequently each character is given too short screen time -- most notably Helga and Audrey -- and this is much to be regretted because they both could have added something fresh to the story with their strong-willed characterizations.

But, most of all, what was on my mind while I was watching "Atlantis," is that there is unmistakable similarity between this movie and Hayao Miyazaki's 1986 masterpiece "Castle in the Sky (Tenku no Shiro Rapyuta)." If you have seen the latter animation film, you never fail to notice it: the crystal stone floating in the air, the hero who believes in the existence of the lost land, and whose father (or grandfather) were ridiculed because of their belief, the budding love between the hero and the heroin who happens to be the descendant of the royal family, and the wicked military trying to get the power of the crystal.... The resemblance itself is okay, but if there is a masterpiece before us, we expect something new and original should be coming after that, and the company I am talking about is Disney, one of the most respected filmmakers. I know I demand too much; but I know Disney can surprise us with the next project.

Summary: Disney rekindles thier status
Review: Atlantis is the reason why I love Disney's cartoons so much. I really appreciated the fact that it was shot in cinemascope and that the musical was replaced by a tremendous score by James Newton Howard.

Summary: Atlantis - The Lost Christmas Gift
Review: This movie was so amazing, according to my 6 years old, that we went to see it four times during the summer! My son could not wait until Christmas, so he could find it under the tree. What a surprisse that this great adventure will not be released for this holiday season!

Summary: Milo Thatch IS Dr. Daniel Jackson!
Review: If you love Stargate, Stargate SG-1 and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, THIS is the perfect Disney full-length animated feature film for you. This film is a fast-paced magical fantasy with stunning colors and visual effects. And true Daniel Jackson fans will notice the many similarities between he and Milo. Besides the obvious bangs and glasses, consider also that they both meet a beautiful native who is the daughter of the leader of the community, fall in love with her and stay behind to help her people. Hmmmmmmm....Now GO BUY IT!

Summary: Bigschoey at the pictures
Review: In real life this could have been the next Indiana Jones movie. As it is Spielberg has been out Spielberged by a fast-moving cartoon.

Gone are the days when it wasn't hip to admit to watching Speedy Gonzales, The Pink Panther and Tom&Jerry. Now if you don't admit to liking cartoons and computer generated flics you are cast aside like a leper - no offence to lepers and all that.

This movie has it all - sentiment, a feeble lead, a groovy chick - who doesn't look that dissimilar to Britney Spears (I always thought this was a verb) - a villain and the inevitable do they don't they nerve jangler when poor Milo is left to his destiny by the evil mercianary, Rourke. Add the class of the graphics, the skill of the artists and the special effects then you have 90 minutes of escapism, a happy ending and a thoroughly thrilling movie experience.

Do you reckon you could get me a date with the Kida chick?
