Review: Every aspect of this movie is enjoyable, most notably the two spectacular car chase scenes. The cast provides just the right amount of European intrigue and class that is required for their roles. The movie makes us want to know what is in the case so bad, but all in all it does not matter, it is the mission that matters. Please don't miss out on one of the most enjoyable films of the year.

Review: I saw this one in the theater as a grudging after-thought. Geez...little did I know this TAKES the cake as THE BEST ALL-TIME ACTION movie since DIE-HARD broke the genre way back when. True fans will realize that Ronin truly just raised the notch for the 90's!! Oh yeah, can I have an AUDI?

Summary: Never had this much fun watching a no-story action movie
Review: I'm a De Niro fan, I'll admit that, and maybe that makes me prejudice (although I hate Once Upon A Time In America) and seeing him in an action film like this is a rare treat for sure. It is slow at the beginning (although David Mamet's add ins to dialogue help pass the time) but once we get to that first shoot out and car chase, whammo, we're in for a ride!! Great car chases, action scenes and acting. So what if there's no story! So what if the suitcase is pointless (it's a MacGuffin, it doens't matter what it is , all you need to know is everyone wants it). Jean Reno is the perfect counterpart to De Niro, and is an actor still showing he has the right stuff.--wcg

Review: All I understand about the movie is a lot of car chasing which are surely commercials for Audi, Mercedes, Toyota, ... you name it. I couldn't even keep my eyes awake in the theater (except for the car chasing).

Review: It's a sort of james-bondish story, simplistic and formulaic. However, the car chases are unreal. Shot using european formula one drivers on french roads, I would rate the car chase footage as just short of Bullitt and slightly surpassing the French Connection. Best movie of all time? nahh. Worth buying on DVD? oh, yes.

Review: The car chases alone would be reason enough to watch this movie, but it is the little things that seperate this film from the typical Hollywood action genre. The dialogue and cinematography are brilliant, but it's the performances(DeNiro&Russo)and the directing that put it over the top. It's simply a thinking mans action movie. When my nails grow back I'll watch it again. Don't miss it!
