Rating: Summary: Funny, Funny, Funny Review: This is one of my favorite comedies of all time. I think the cast is so well established and connected that the movie just works in every way. Ron Liebman's "Estaban" is comic genius ("I have always expected people to be nicer than me, and never in my life, have I been disappointed"). Every line is crafted for a full funny effect. George Hamilton's follow-up genre movies never worked as as well as "Zorro, The Gay Blade." Granted, some people will have to be in the mood for some of the silliness to be funny; but this movie always puts me in a funny mode. I watch it just to get laughing again!
Rating: Summary: High Camp + Hi Jinks + Great Timing = Great Fun Review: First viewed at the theater, the audience laughed so hard that it kept drowning out the dialogue. People kept saying, "What did he say, what did he say." Thank goodness for video and the rewind feature because the throw away lines are incredible. The first half could stand alone as one of the all time funniest movies ever made. The second half, with Hamilton as Bunnie Wigglesworth the gay twin lags a bit. I've bought it twice and lent it out to friends, who lend it to their friends. et all and I never get it back. Will buy it again. We are still quoting lines from it 18 years later. Hamilton is marvelous in the role and Brenda Vaccarro and Ron Liebman and all the supporting cast perfect. Do yourself a favor and buy this video. You won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: Zorro, is to much Review: If you enjoy George Hamilton trying to talk in a spanish accent and playing a dual role as zorro's gay brother, you will not stop laughing.
Rating: Summary: A MOVIE PARODY THAT MEL BROOKS WILL PROUD OF. Review: Peter Medak directs this HILARIOUS film about the masked 'ROBIN HOOD' of early California. After his AMAZING success of spoofing 'DRACULA' in "LOVE AT FIRST BITE", George Hamilton returned to portray Johnston McCulley's masked hero. Hamilton plays "DON DIEGO VEGA" the son of the original 'ZORRO'. He also plays "RAMON VEGA/BUNNY WIGGLESWORTH" Diego's homosexual long lost twin brother. After an accidentally fall which gives him a swollen ankle,Diego persuades his brother to take over the role of Zorro, which Diego has adopted from their father, until he heals. George Hamilton is HILARIOUS in his dual role, Ron Liebmann is EQUALLY HILARIOUS in his role of Diego's arch rival. Brenda Vaccaro and Laurn Hutton round out the cast as the female leads.
Rating: Summary: Best Slap Stick Movie You'll Ever See! Review: This movie is hilarious & I never get tired of watching it! Before this movie, I never knew George Hamilton could do comedy so well! I first saw this film when I was 12 years old - 17 years later & I'm still rolling!
Rating: Summary: ABSOLUTELY HYSTERICAL!!!!! Review: Anyone who finds this movie unfunny needs to have their funny bone checked. This is the type of movie you can watch over and over and get as big a belly laugh as the first time. George and Ron are in top form!
Rating: Summary: Great "silly" film! Review: If you are in the mood to just get silly, this is the movie for you. I think you could say it's the "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" of American film. The writing was excellent and the casting was even better. Funny, silly movie.
Rating: Summary: My friend and I loved it! COLONEL POOF-POOF! Review: When I watched this inane and comical film, I called my friend up & she came over. She and I laughed out loud and "quoted" the lovable pantomiming Bernardo. We were quoting this movie all school year!
Rating: Summary: Yee-haw! I love this movie! Review: Saw this first when I was about 10 or so and I missed most of the gay jokes, but I LOVED the fencing. Now, 20 years later, I am an anomaly: A straight male in theatre, but now, I get all the gay jokes and it STILL cracks me up! Watch this movie if you're looking for swashbuckling fun!THANK GOD FOR SMALL FAVORS!
Rating: Summary: Maybe fun for older people Review: I could not just laugh, although I did not find this movie offensive/politically incorrect at all. Put simply, extremely dated --- I could not believe the fact that this was produced in 1981. It looked like 1971 instead. Probably this movie might be funny only for people who are older than 50 yrs old.
