Summary: Like Nothing Before
Review: I really like this movie. When it first came out it was like nothing else. Especially since alot of the movie was set in virtual reality. But even though it was a very technical movie it also had a lot of human elements. It had Neo dealing with becoming The One, Trinity dealing with her love for Neo, and the whole human race dealing with slavery (although most didn't know it). Even my friends who do not like science fiction, like this movie.

Summary: GREAT! BUT its japanese animation inspired
Review: i really liked this movie very,very much,most people say this flick is as original as it can get,but FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW,let me tell you that the creators of the matrix are japanese animation FANS,they said in an interview that they were watching some anime movies and series while writting the script,and by the way the movie plot is and many scenes from it ,clearly they took parts from GHOST IN THE SHELL,SERIAL EXPERIMENTS LAIN,and NINJA SCROLL,any anime fan can tell you this.but still what a great movie.also mission imposible 2 is filled with some scenes from a video game called metal gear solid.

Summary: One impossibly great movie
Review: I really must say that the story line is very original... I salute you, Wachowski bros! However, the dialogue didn't seem to be as original, which detracts from the movie. The acting was somewhat forced...I felt that Keanu and Carrie-Ann had to have their teeth pulled just to say some of the things they had to say. As for the DVD, I haven't seen it; but I took one look at the features included and I'm definitely buying this one (my first!!). This DVD offers many different features, which many DVD's do so little. I would definitely invest in this little puppy!

Review: I recieved the DVD, I tried to play it on 6 different players and it did not work at all. Reason why I give 2 stars is because of the customer service I recieved when I called, right away they were able to next day the movie to me and it accually works!

Summary: Just an awesome experience. What a film!!!
Review: I remember when I came out of the theatre the first time I saw The Matrix back in 1999 (I returned to watch it in theatres three more times...): I had never felt such a rush after watching a film.
Everything is exciting about this movie, the story, the concept, the special effects, the ending, the philosophical messages. And by the way, it is a great sci-fi-kung-fu-action thriller.
The sequels are another story. But "The Matrix" stands on its own as a milestone in the history of cinema at the dawn of the new millenium.

Summary: I tried to play the dvd;it didn't work!
Review: I rented this at two different video stores,and I coudn't play it! I got zero picture and sound! I don't think it's my dvd player,because I put in a different dvd,and the disc worked fine. Did anyone else have this problem? Are all initial copies of this dvd defective,or what?

Summary: Great movie--Great documentary
Review: I rented this DVD yesterday and it was so good I watched it twice. The making of The Matrix documentary was worth the rental cost by itself. I bought the DVD earlier today and can't wait to try the White Rabbit feature in which if a white rabbit appears on the screen you can watch how the effect was done. The commentary should be fun also. I love DVD and its extras. And this movie uses them to their best.

Summary: Mind numbing computer graphics...
Review: I respect that somebody spent a lot of time "designing" this movie, but fancy computer graphics can only get you so far. It's extremely artificial in it's entirety, so much so, I think it would have been a very good film had it been made into an Anime feature. Besides, Keanu Reeves is one of the greatest OVERACTORS of our time. I think most movie buffs know what I mean. The plot is a good one, not a great one seeing that most of the time was spent on cartoonish graphics and not storyline. Teenagers would probably like it, but I don't recommend it for mature film viewers who want a movie with substance.

Summary: Good Effects, now you just need a storyline
Review: I sat and watched this film after listening to all the hype about it and yep, it has got good special effects. However, if you really want to see a good engrossing film then don't bother watching it. It lacks a decent plot, the storyline is just plain bad and the acting is bordering on painful.
