Summary: Cruise, Pitt, and Dunst were all wonderful
Review: I'm in the minority in that I liked the movie more than the book. The book is long winded and bogged down with description and the movie starts that way too. But once Claudia is introduced, the movie spins with action, depth, and spooky bliss. The settings are beautiful, the costumes terrific, the characters superbly portrayed. The soundtrack is hard to beat, but only if you're cultured in your music tastes. The altered ending is - at least to me - refreshing. Axl Rose singing Jagger's Sympathy for the Devil is a fitting ending for the movie that glorified Lestat. And of course Lestat himself was beautifully portrayed by Tom Cruise. This is a must see for any serious vampire fan.

Summary: NOT A LOST BOYS MOVIE, BUT A GOOD ONE!
Review: Ok, it's a good vampire movie, one of the 5 betters ever made ( including Fright Night, The Fearless Vampires Killers, Dracula and of course, The Lost Boys), but is not the best vampire movie. I think many have forgot the best one, The Lost Boys, which certanly has very good looking actors as Brad Pitt. Compare Brad Pitt with the actors of Lost Boys (Jason Patric, Billy Wirth- the long darkneed hair vampire) and it's not just the actors, all the elements in Lost Boys made it the BEST VAMPIRE MOVIE EVER. And don't forget it was made in 1987- above of it's time.

Summary: Pretty decent vampire movie
Review: I don't know why everybody complains about Tom Cruise's performance in this movie. I think he actually carries the movie. His portrayal of LeStat may not be strictly by-the-book (I don't know ; I haven't read it), but is very convincing. Kisten Dunst plays an excellent part. I have to say this is by far the best vampire movie ever made. For once you can actually suspend your disbelief and enjoy the world of these nocturnal creatures.

Review: I can't tell you how much I loved this moive in word

Summary: This movie is the best and it sticks with you for hours
Review: What can i say I love this movie. The vary first time i saw this movie i was enthralled by it. Though I always find mysalf wishing for a happier end for louie but I know the movie would loses its majestic quality if it did. I love the poetic way Lestat speakes and the way Louie well... is. I love the development of all the characters. And contrary to what one of the people below me will say Tom Crusie is the only one you could ever picture as Lestat. Its a whole new concept for him and he excels at it. And Brad Pitt my god you coulden't ask for better. I'll admit that not only is this movie great but the stars are hott. I always find mysalf wishing I were Kirsten Dunst. This movie in truth is a must have for any collection. It is deep but manages to maintain a playful adittude. BUY IT!!!!!! :D :P :D

Summary: Nice Movie, should have followed the book more
Review: I really liked this movie, but I wish I had not read the book first. The movie leaves out too much. If you like this movie I would definately recomend that you read the book after.

Summary: "I want some more"
Review: I love this film because of it's passionate sensual mood. All the actors portrayed the vampires as they should be, firece, sexy creatures of the night. Tom Cruise was fantastic as Lestat and if/when you make a movie of "The Vampire Lestat", Cruise is the only one who can play Lestat. Although the video didn't follow the book exactly I still think it did it great justice. The costume and design was definitely something to be desired, I think I can speak for every vampire fan when I say at the end of this film all I could think of was "Bite me".

Summary: a well-done rendition of Anne Rice's phenomenal book
Review: While this movie did not follow exactly the story in the book, I still think it did the book justice. I would like to say, in response to the Australian viewer who complained that the movie showed none of Lestat's making or life before Louis, that the book Interview never goes into that either; those things don't come until The Vampire Lestat. But I do agree that while Antonio Banderas was alright as Armand, he is really nothing like the angel-faced boy he was in the book. Tom Cruise surprised me with how well he portrayed Lestat--like Anne Rice, I never would have considered him for the part, but he proved us wrong. Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst are both excellent in their portrayals of mournful, brooding Louis and spritely Claudia. Overall, all the actors did a fine job and the movie came out beautifully. One last thing: even though the end of the movie is not the same as the book, I loved it!

Summary: Very good movie...until the end
Review: I really enjoyed this movie. I am an Anne Rice fan and loved her book Interview w/ the Vampire. Tom Cruise&Brad Pitt did an excellent job of portraying her characters. The end did no justice to the next book The Vampire Lestat! They did good staying with the book in the beginning but they took a doosey in the end!!
