Summary: Wonderful! Much better than the original!
Review: I am so glad this wasn't as bad as ALIEN. ALIENS had a much better plot, better characters, better acting, and (thank, God) better picture and audio! This one was also better because we don't have to endure one alien, but several, including the queen. This one also had a better, and classic finale :)

Summary: Aliens - For Action Adventure Lovers as well as Sci-Fi
Review: Aliens DVD Special Edition has deleted scenes added right back into the movie. When watching Aliens - there were always a few things that didn't make sense. Like sometihing had been edited out of the movie that might shed some light on a few comments. The DVD edition also has a scene where Ripley finds out what happened to here daughter. You get to see Newt's family - Mom, Dad & Timmy. There's a little chemistry between Ripley & Hicks. Vasquez, Hicks (Michael Biehn) & Hudson (Bill Paxton) have parts in many other Cameron films. They are both in Titanic. Vasquez is in Terminator 2 as Janelle, the foster mother. Paxton has a very, very small part in the beginning on Terminator as a punk rocker encountering Arnold. Michael Biehn we all know starred in Terminator & played the psycho HPNS affested Lt. Kofy in The Abyss. Rather well I might add. All of these actors are brought together for a wonderful movie that will have you on the enge of your seat til the very end. The extra footage adds to the movie. You will definately be glad you purchased this DVD. I was.

Summary: Get on the ready line Marines! It's time to die!
Review: I remember going to see Aliens at the Movies back in High School. I loved it soo much that I went out and bought the book and came across parts in the book, that of course were not in the movie. Aliens Special Edition puts those parts back in and completely restores this movie to greatness. Sometimes you get movies that have scenes that have been put back into the movie that were left out and end up making the movie horrible(i.e. Night of the Living Dead). Just like the added scenes in The Abyss, the added scenes in Aliens do not take away from the movie, but only make it better. The added scenes are everywhere in the Movie. I won't try and spoil it for you but give you what you will see. You get to see the Colony on LV-426 before they get attacked, you see the Family with Newt that gets orders from Burke to check out the area Ripley stated the derlict alien ship was located at , you see some of the measures the Marines took to protect them selves in Med Lab, and you get to see that Hicks and Ripley actually had something starting in the whole mess. It is really worth looking at and I just had to have this DVD for my collection. I suggest you do the same.

Summary: A great opportunity squandered
Review: James Cameron had some pretty big shoes to fill when he set out to do a sequel to one of the most hauntingly beautiful films of all time. Unfortunately, ALIENS ultimately falls flat when compared with Ridley Scott's nonpareil classic. This is sad, because Cameron certainly had the skill to take the whole ALIEN mythos into new and exciting directions; instead, he opts for the same old "shoot 'em up", wild west, mindless violence, cardboard character movie formula that is so prevalent in Hollywood today, possibly because it appeals to the lowest common denominator and translates into guaranteed big profits for the studios.

Giger's alien (truly the 'star' of the series) loses much of its mystery and appeal at the hands of Stan Winston, becoming more of a mindless insect with big teeth and claws, a departure from Giger's original (and much more interesting) idea for the alien's lifecycle (check out the deleted scenes on the ALIEN DVD).

In summary, a mildly entertaining but ultimately disappointing action film that's definitely worth a look; save your money, though - rent it.

Summary: ALIENS
Review: The DVD is truly worth it. The missing parts from the theatrical release makes the viewer appreciate the story more. With the clarity of the DVD format, a lot of things in the background became clearer. I even compared it with the VHS and VCD copy using a 2-Tuner PIP TV whose screen can be split in half. Such a big difference in clarity of picture and sound.

For Sci-fi and war freaks, this is a DVD to collect.

Summary: Express ride to Hell. Going down!
Review: This movie is a ball tearer. It can not be compared to the preceding film, "Alien", because the two of them are so totally different. Where Alien was a drawn out plot twisted suspense filled horror flick, Aliens is an all out action thriller. Sigourney Weaver was hailed for her true action hero portrayal whilst still retaining motherhood instincts.

I have to admit that she was superb in this role however I don't know how seriously she took it. During a publicity interview on one of the midday shows I witnessed her being asked, by another guest, a question about "Hicks", to which Sigourney replied with a completely blank look as if to say, "I don't know what you're talking about." For those of you that miss the point here, "Hicks" was the leading male character in the film, played by Michael Biehn.

We start the story where the first film left off, at least from the heroine's point of view. Ellen Ripley is awakened after drifting in deep space for over fifty years whilst in hyper sleep. She then finds that her daughter is dead, (special edition), and she is facing charges for destroying her infested ship, (the Nostromo). Then surprise, surprise, she is asked to act as an xenomorph expert just in case it is her imaginary aliens that have caused the loss of contact with colonists on (LV-426). The very planet where she first encountered the beasties.

Enter the marines and their corporate helper, Burke, that are to protect Ripley during the excursion. Of course it is the other way around in the end. Landing on the planet, all seems peaceful but deserted, until they find a survivor, in the form of a little girl called Newt.

After this, all hell breaks loose as in quick succession they raid the Aliens' lair, dropping half their number to the nasties. Lieutenant Gorman, officially in command, is brained by a box, during a wild APC drive out of said lair. Then their drop ship is destroyed, crash landing out of control after the pilot is perforated by an alien's inner jaws. This leaves them stranded in a building that has already been swarmed during the colonists stay, as night approaches. I'm not going to describe any more because from then on it is just mind numbing action without letup.

If you haven't seen the directors cut of this film, make the effort. There is a scene in it where computer automated gun arrays defend a corridor that is just fabulous.

Summary: One of the best movies ive ever seen.
Review: I think that this is one of the greates sci-fi action movies ever made. The intense nonstop action was totally amazing. So my recommendation is to BUY THIS MOVIE as soon as possible.

Summary: Awesome Sci-Fi Movie!
Review: This movie was unbelievable. Everything in it was so superbly done, the action sequences, acting, etc. This is the first "Aliens" movie I have seen of the trilogy, and after seeing this one, I HAVE to see the others. The concept of the movie is great, that Ripley is discovered after being lost in space for 57 years. She then is told that there is a colony of families where she had seen these monsters. She goes back with a group of Marines as a consultant. Michael Biehn, a personal favorite of mine, is great as Hicks. Weaver is also brilliant as Ripley, and I believed every word she uttered. A truly outstanding movie, and one that should be in every home.

Summary: Possibly one of my BEST of movies.
Review: hmmmmmmmm.. what can I say? This film brings Sci Fi and Terror better then anything i've seen. Though this film is Sci Fi and Terror.

If you can't stand a little action, blood, gore, or a little spice of terror (Though it wasn't at all scary to me).. you might want to stand clear..

But for me, this is simply one of the best films. See it!

Summary: One of my six favorite films
Review: I first saw this movie as a junior in high school, on a double bill with "The Fly" (as I recall, that was the only time I've ever seen tough teenagers running out of a theater).

It is packed with action, cool effects, and convincing acting. When that rat, Paul Riser, gets his due, a little part of my heart smiles
