Summary: Classic Old School Film
Review: Well Well Well. What can I say except this film is an ultimate classic. Kurt Russel fills the truck driver role of Jack Burton perfectly. My friend and I use to watch the hell out of this movie in 7th grade, and after buying the DVD I have begun to enjoy it once again. The price is a little steep for such and old film, but the alternate endings and deleted scenes make it worth your effort of going out to the store and buying it. The special effects are fantastic, and if you cant get over the B-movie story line it is definitely for you.

Summary: You know what Jack Burton says at a time like this?...Who?
Review: Jack Burton...Me. This movie is awesome, if not only for this great piece of dialogue. The action and comedy are just at the right measurments to make this movie a success. Jack Burton is one of the most unlikely heros of all film. He gets thrust into this world of Chinese mysticism that he has no idea how to deal with except using his American arrogance. Kurt Russell plays this part to a T. The DVD really does the movie justice with a great commentary track with director John Carpenter and Kurt Russell catching up on old times and discussing the ins and outs of acting and movie making then and now. There are also some great cheap shots at Captain Ron. Don't look to much into this movie cause it's simply here to entertain you, which is what it does best.

Summary: great movie
Review: This is an excellent selection if you like great movies. The main character is Jack Burton (Kurt Russel) who is half Indiana Jones and half Ash from the "Evil Dead" movies. This movie is an adventure not quite like anything you have ever seen.

Summary: All aboard the Pork chop Express!
Review: BIG TROUBLE is big in the laughs department. Kurt Russell plays Jack Burton, a likeable lug of a truck driver who finds himself assuming the role of Indiana Jones facing-off against cosmic, dark forces of Black Adept David Lo Pan. The Lo Panster is played by James Hong who brings wit and nefarious Dr.Fu Manchu menace to this over-the-top role of S.F.Chinatown's resident crime lord and sorcerer. Kim Cattrall is Gracie Law, a Lois Lane-type super woman whom Lo Pan nominates for ritual sacrifice. Jack has to rescue her to get back The Pork chop Express, his beloved 18 Wheeler. John Carpenter has great fun parodying a half-dozen adventure genres and employs a mix of FX and art direction/sets whose quality ranges from the wow-inspiring to the sublimely bogus. The big battle finale occurs in what looks like the (Chinese) food court of a yuppie shopping mall and Carpenter takes some right-on shots at the PC police...BIG TROUBLE in LITTLE CHINA is a movie with insouciant, self-deprecating humor that is mucho fun. So get-off your crouching/grouching tigers and climb aboard the Pork chop Express...

Summary: Big Trouble, Lots of Fun
Review: Misunderstood when it was released in 1986, this film has achieved cult status through home video. Now we get an extra treat, not only seeing the film beautifully realized with geat sound, but we gets lots of extra goodies on this DVD to make this 2 disk set a true gem. Lets face it you either love the movie or don't. For those who don't it seems you miss the whole point. John Carpenter made this in homage to the great Hong Kong karate movies he grew up with, and instead of having a Rambo clone as hero we have Kurt Russell's Jack Burton - a loveable, yet over bearing and concieted bumbler. That is where the joke lies and this is why this film is truely memorable. Russell is perfect in the role. Don't try to explain the plot, just go with it and have some fun. A special treat is the commentary by Carpenter and Russell. This is worth the price of the movie alone.

Summary: AWESOME!
Review: I loved this movie when it first came out and I love it even more now. It is still great even in the year 2001. The quality and sound are excellent and the deleted scenes are a BLAST. I highly recommend this. Tell em Jack Burton and the porkchop express sent ya.

Summary: The Definitive Guys Action Film
Review: Where to begin... You have to respect a film that you can add to your collection that spots the eye of every freind that comes and visits your place. Kurt Russell plays a goofball version of his Snake character from Escape from NY tracking down a pair of green eyed beauties that were kidnapped by an evil asian gang (dressed in black). Joining in the fight is his best friend Wang as well as the leader of the good martial arts gang (dressed in white no less), and china town tour bus driver, Egg Shen.

The fight scenes, the magic potions and some of the outworld characters in this movie turn the film into a kind of mystical battle with good pitted against evil. The evil leader David Lo Pan has only one opportunity once every few centuries to sacrifice a green eyed girl in order to become of flesh and mortal blood (he was a wretched skinless spirit before then). Joining him in his quest for mortality and attempt to rule the underworld are three fighters that represent Thunder, Lightning and Wind. The awsome power these warriors possess make the fight that much more difficult for Russell and friends. And I wouldn't doubt that the Mortal Kombat game owes more than homage to these spirit warriors particularly with Raiden. Well worth watching time and time again.

Summary: Best B rated movie I've ever seen
Review: This is by far the best B rated movie I've ever seen. Its silly not never outright cheesy. I've seen this on TV many times but not watched the DVD version, which I am tempted to buy. If you haven't seen this is worth renting, heck its worth buying too.

Summary: A Favorite gets the right treatment on DVD
Review: Why some DVD's have more material ("Fight Club") than others ("Traffic", for instance) is a mystery I'm sure plagues a lot of us who own DVDs. So upon reading what's in this DVD, I was a little shocked. A movie that bombed when it was released gets this kind of treatment? Well, considering it's one of my favorite films to watch, the answer is "yes". The picture and audio were good (bearing in mind the 80's weren't good at preserving film like today), and the commentary with Carpenter and Russell was fun (a good third of it isn't even about the movie!). For those of you who love this movie, this IS the Pork-Chop Express!
