Summary: Should Have Won An Academy Award For Best Picture!
Review: Yeah, right!

This film reeks. A bunch of people decide to disregard all traffic laws, waste gasoline, and endanger innocent lives just to be the first of many to drive cross-country. Hoo-Boy! Now that's entertainment!

I supose a bunch of guys juiced up on testosterone might like this film, but that's about it.

Review: I saw this movie back in the theatre when I was just a kid, and I loved it then as much as I love it now! This movie is a must see for anyone who loves cars as much as I do. The opening sequence when the black Lamborghini hits the gas and leaves the highway patrol in the dust is a laughable scene that you'll want to play over and over again! It's also fun watching an early Jackie Chan kick some booty in an all-star free for all with a gang of bikers that will leave you begging for more! Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin will make you laugh as the two Cannonballers, posing as clergymen, drive a red Ferrari cross country while dealing with nemesis (Reynolds) and an array of highway patrolmen! You can't help but love Capt. Caos (Dom Deluise) But you'll want to slap him almost as much as Burt Reynolds does..especially at the end. This movie is a must see, and will keep you entertained the whole way thru.. with non-stop action and on-the-spot comedy, mixed with an all star cast..you really can't lose!

Review: I was surprised to see the overall rating here. I've seen so many reviews calling it the worst movie ever made. The comparisons to The Gumball Rally is dissapointing. What sets Cannonball miles ahead of GR is the all-star cast. And in addition to the main characters, who can for get the Doctor!...probably the most sinister looking doctor of all-time! And also a young Jackie Chan way before all his hard to watch self-stunt films. A MUST SEE!!!!!

Review: This is a goofball comedy with a top of his popularity Burt Reynolds, a young Farrah, and two pickled Rat-Packers. Brilliant! This movie wasn't made for Cannes... Cans of beer, maybe. An all-timer when it comes to FUN movies. I still want a black Countach with gold campy's and a front wing!

Review: Cannonball Run is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.Burt Reynolds & Dom DeLuise made a great duo not to mention Sammy Davis jr. & Dean Martin throw in a very young & VERY sexy Farrah Fawcett you get a high speed race for comedy.

Summary: All stars equals one star
Review: Burt Reynolds was the biggest movie star in the world when (1980) he made CANNONBALL RUN. Did he appear in this bomb to test his fans' patience? Did he really think the script was humorous or exciting? Maybe the filmmakers spent so much time recruiting CANNONBALL RUN's all-star cast that they forgot to write jokes or develop any story. Except for Dom Deluise's very funny performance, the only laughs are at the paying audience's expense. Burt Reynolds redeemed himself with the appropriately titled STARTING OVER once the stench of CANNONBALL RUN died down.

Summary: Another good car movie
Review: When I first saw the Cannonball Run. It almost reminded me the movie, "The Gumball Rally". Except in the Cannonball Run; the plot and the character are most interesting. My favorite character in the film was Captain Kaos. Jackie Chan also has a marvelous cameo in this film.

Review: Summer 1980. Superman did it with Lois Lane in Superman 2, Condorman was Disney's next big thing for live action, and Han Solo was frozen into a giant ice cube in Empire Strikes Back. Not only that, millions of us were tuning into the Dukes of Hazzard on Friday nights. Yes, it's almost like summmer '99, with the start of Darth Vader, Inspector Gadget as Disney's live action follow-up, and Superman...well he's in active retirement at Warner Bros. right now. But those darn Dukes. If it we were only smarter, we would not have tuned in, and Cannonball Run would not have been made. I guess karma really does happen. Because of the enormous popularity of car crashes, dumb comedy and sexy women, director Hal Needham lined up the grooviest 1980 cast he could find this side of a Love Boat episode. Burt and Dom flirt with one another, Sammy and Dean pat each other on the back, and Terry Bradshaw hangs out with stuttering Mel Tillis. Ah, the 80's. It's a great movie for those nights that you're home alone and have absolutely NOTHING to do. You can even make a drinking game out of it - everytime Burt slaps Dom, take a drink. Everytime time Burt and Dom chuckle, take a drink. The moment you notice Farrah Fawcett is NOT wearing a bra underneath her tight blouse - take a cold shower! It's the little things like that which make Cannonball so enjoyable. Let's just thank our lucky stars that a Cannonball prequel is not out this summer.

Summary: one of Burt Reynolds most subtle and moving performances
Review: A brilliant demonstration of the effects of the automobile on the contemporary American cultural scene. Burt Reynolds's performance is only eclipsed by Sammy Davis Jrs estatic portrait of a Ferrari driving priest. Reynolds's best performance up until the recent "Cop and a Half". Along with Chevy Chase, he is America's best arthouse performer.
