Summary: W-O-W!
Review: I was very leary about seeing this movie at first... but I sure am glad I didn't miss out on seeing it! It's awesome... good storyline, fun characters (and I have to say, this is the one group of actors in a heist caper that seem to have some good chemistry, unlike the remake of "Ocean's 11" where the interactions and such were cardboard and stale), unbelievable music by the brilliant John Powell, and just an all-around, lighthearted (although serious at times) movie. The twist of Lyle being the REAL Napster was also a brilliant addition to the storyline and made it much more funny. By the way, Charlize Theron looked HOT in just about ever scene...especially in the outfit she wears during the Mini Cooper chase/ending...yeah!

Summary: Great heist movie, sappy ending....
Review: "The Italian Job" is a remake of a classic, but under F. Gary Gray's direction, is surprisingly crisp and well-paced. No need to detail the plot--revenge of criminals on one of their own, who stole from them.

The cast is a great ensemble with the only cast members in break out roles, being the 3 Mini-Coopers featured in the film. No doubt this will be a BMW Sales Bonanza for the cheeky little Brit auto. Character development is secondary to the heist and the action, as it should be...too little of the film is in Venice and too much in LA, but what can you do?

The music is a refreshing mix, there are laughs sprinkled throughout & enough action for all but the youngest adrenaline jockies. A sappy ending...they should have stuck with pictures of each of the heist members surrounded by their gold, and called it quits.

Definitely worth seeing on the big screen, and again in DVD, where it promises to have some great special effects!

Summary: 3 1/2 Stars: Gold
Review: "The Italian Job" is the most expensive commercial ever filmed, I would guess. If it doesn't make you want to trade in your SUV for a Mini Cooper, I don't know what would.
In between the ad portions for this car is a pretty good caper movie, a remake really of a British version of the same basic story, which starred Michael Caine, based on a double cross (by the Edward Norton character) plot.
The hijack scenes that were filmed in the Chinese Theater district of Hollywood are amazing as this area is always jammed with tourists. The logistics and planning necessary to pull these scenes off must have been almost insurmountable; yet they play out so naturally as to appear seamless.
"The Italian Job" is fun, sexy, noisy and fast paced. I can think of a lot worse ways to spend a couple of hours.

Summary: Love the original? See the 'remake'
Review: I am a big fan of the first movie, and I love the ending. I heard about a remake and I knew that they would have to have a different ending this time, but I didn't expect a completely different movie. Wow! Seth Green plays the usual excellent supporting character. The scene with him in the car watching Rob put the moves on the cabin repair woman was bust a gut funny.

If you have never seen the original, see it before or after this movie. Never spoils the other.

Summary: Best Movie ever!!!
Review: I may be a bit biased (My daily driver is a '67 Mini), but I think this is one of the best movies ever filmed. I love a good heist, and was grinning from the first scene with Theron in the mini. The driving and chase scenes are some of the most exhilerating ever caught on tape. I have only seen it once, but I'm already on the waiting list to buy it. GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!

Summary: Blasphemy
Review: Now I have to say that this film has yet to hit our shores but, in the UK, the original is such an iconic film, a film that defines the best of Brisish cinema, played most Christmas days, that the thought of a remake, let alone a foriegn remake, makes one's blood run cold. The original is perfection.....it's like trying to repaint the Mona lisa....
