Summary: What a treat and one Incredible Journey!!
Review: I saw this movie this weekend with my 12 year old daughter and my boyfriend that drags me to see weird stuff all the time... you know like indie movies, foreign sub-titled flix and NOW Anime (which is one of his favorite types of movies)

I actually REALLY liked this movie A LOT!!!it had some very meaningful lessons(for children and adults alike), it was suspenseful, funny and heartwarming. Sen was so adorable and responsible. I'm not a HUGE Anime fan so I can't pick-it-apart like others but I can recommend it for someone with children above the age of sayyyyyyy 10 and it isn't totally one of those movies that you have to follow anime to understand the "rules" of their movies like say Mononoke-hime (or at least that is my impression)so with that said I think any average movie-goer would enjoy this one just for the Animation Quality as well as the humorous parts.

Also highly recommend Mononoke-hime if you enjoyed this one and want to find something similar.

Summary: Great movie
Review: Great story, great picture. It may be difficult for children, but, I would strongly recommend it.
Also, "Princess Mononoke" and "Nausicaa of valley of wind" are wonderful movie which are produced by Hayao Miyazaki. Miyazaki always says how we can live in nature in his movie.

Summary: A true work of art and storytelling
Review: Spirited Away is easily one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Hayao Miyazaki creates a world of amazing characters and imagery that when put together by a master of animation create an amazing film.

A young girl named Chihiro is moving to a new home away from all her friends and her old life when her parents take a wrong turn and they all end up at a supposedly abandoned amusement park which is really a spa for Japanese Gods and spirits. Unknowingly her parents eat too much and get turned into pigs. Chihiro must get a job working at the spa in order to have her parents turned back into their human form again.

It's tough to find a movie that can convey true emotion through it's characters, but Spirited Away pulls this off with flying colors. By the end of the movie you feel as if you've known the characters in it forever and can truly relate to them and their emotions. Chihiro comes to the spa a scared little girl but her determination to help her parents gives her the courage she needs to conquer her fears. She meets a vast array of characters who she eventually wins over with her gentle ways and kind heart. Miyazaki brings the world Chihiro is thrown into to life so it isn't just another movie, it's a work of art and a legendary piece of storytelling that can be enjoyed by all.

Summary: A Masterpiece by a Master
Review: I was fortunate enough to have watched this movie while on vacation in Japan which added to my experience greatly. Miyazaki never fails to impress me with his vision. His stories always move me in one way or the other. Spirited Away is a wonderful film filled adventure, intrigue and certainly something you shouldn't miss!

Summary: Absolutely Amazing
Review: I'm not a huge fan of anime, and i have to say that I wasn't exactly thrilled when I was dragged with a few friends to go see this in the theater.
30 minutes into the film I found myself lost in the story. It really envelops you and lose track of reality to a degree. The animation is silky smooth and some of the effects (moving images reflecting off car windows) really impressed me. But this movie isn't about uber computer generated effects, it's about the characters which all have such a believable personality, and the twisted Alice-in-Wonderland like plot. Don't think this is a happy feel-good Disney flick though. Some of the scenes may not be appropriate for young children.
This truly is a masterpiece, and has given me a respect for jap-anime.

Summary: Spellbinding beauty, moral lessons, but scarey and gross!
Review: The clarity of the details, rich color palette plus intense and distinctive characters all help to create an extraordinary dream-like beauty. The pure heart of Chihiro as she encounters tests of her perserverence is very touching. There is a clear message against greed and in favor of hard work and kindness.

For all the beauty, though, it must be said that this film is not for young children (newly rated PG in the Disney version, which I have not seen..I bought the original with subtitles) The various demons are hauntingly odd and bizarre, especially the "No-face" one which tempts others to become greedy, then unveils a large mouth and eats them. Yubaba the witch has a huge head and turns into a creature, still with her head, which takes to the night sky like a strange predatory bird. There are also gross moments, when No-face vomits up all the things he ate over a period of time, and when the River God comes to the bathhouse so dirty he is dripping slime as he walks.

Interestingly, Hayao Miyazaki's "Princess Mononoke" also has a gross monster, the boar-like thing that has worms dripping out of it as it moves. If Mr Miyazaki would refrain from these gross moments, I'd be more interested in seeing these unique, entrancing films over and over. Perhaps it is a cultural thing, with the gross details of such demon creatures being necessary to be true to their cultural tales. But it does not suit my taste, and I certainly would have children under age 14 or 15 to see it. On the other hand, Mr Miyazaki's "Kiki's Delivery Service" and "My Neighbor, Totoro" are more suited to children, and also have the heart, unique details/stories and dream-like beauty, without the grossness or scariness.

Summary: Spirited Away is an awesome movie! ...
Review: Spirited Away is a really, really cool movie! This movie is totally awesome! It is about a young girl who is moving with her family. The girl is worried about starting at a new school and leaving her friends. But on the way to their house, the family stops and finds a cave that leads to an abandoned amusement park, or so it seems. This place is actually a place for spirits with a bathhouse. The girl's parents start eating food set out, and turn into pigs. Now the girl is trapped in the spirit world and needs to find a way home and a way to save her parents.

Spirited Away is a very, VERY, VERY VERY!... good way to spends two hours. This movie has everything, action, excitement, mystery, more good stuff. It is Japanese anime, which is really cool, too. I went and saw this movie because it was anime, and I didn't know what the plot was AT ALL before going to the movie. It was really good anyway!... Go see this movie! It is SO GOOD! Plus there's a really cool guy with blue hair in it ^_^. I'd also like to say that even though it is a movie rated PG and animated, it is not a kid's movie. It is exciting, adults like it, and it might scare small children. It has spirits and blood and stuff like that. But, anyway GO SEE SPIRITED AWAY!... I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND IT!... THIS MOVIE ROCKS!...

Summary: the most breathtaking...
Review: amazing movie i have seen in a long time. i only went to watch it after reading awsome review from critics and watching it win the oscar for best animated feature. never did i expect to be totally enchanted by this wonderful film. the animation is simply beautiful, the story is heartbreaking and touching, the characters are ones you will never forget. my ten year old sister would not stop talking about it and even I could not help but think about it. as a word of caution, there are some gross and really creepy moments that will scare little children and the entire movie lasts well over two hours. but don't think for even a second that this is a children's movie. the complexity and rich detail makes this a masterpiece of artwork. this movie, with its adorable and moving nature, is destined to become a modern american classic even though it is japanese anime. i just wish that more people would go see it and experience this magical treat for themselves. this really was worth my time.

Summary: best movie
Review: Me by ben ten I like it better then princess mononoke because it wasnt violent. But for you that you think that this movie was violent it isn't true because watch the other movies by him castel in the sky and Kiki's delivery service. Those movies were great because it weren't so violent so think again because Miyazaki dosen't make movies for adult to see. He makes it for all people to watch. Of all four movies he makes only one but only one was for adult no 13 years old that was princess mononoke. I think he made it like steven spilberg he made jurasic park and then he made the land before time 1 2 3 4 5 6 and 7 and the new one 8 so i think he also need to have a chance for an adult movie. So every one who thinks that he made movies for adult you are correct and really wrong so dont tell that to the one who made it. Is okay that is not for kids of 4 or ??? because no face was bomitting all over the bath house and Haku whit blood getting out of his mouth. So belive in these two other movies and spirited away.
