Summary: The Lord Of The Rings
Review: After seing the movie I can tell that the book is better and the movie has changed alot of things which are in the book.
It is one of the best movies I saw all my life you can see that by the graphic effects and the good actors in the movie.
I recommand this movie but more the book.

Summary: Great Movie - even if Eurocentric/lacking racial diversity
Review: Great Movie based on an enjoyable series of books.
Loved the Movie. Obviously lots of work and effort went into it.
Disappointed that in a diverse fantasy world they couldn't have any of the races with black/brown or 'yellow' complected people.
They could cut verbiage and do all sorts of things but wanted to remain true to the racial characteristics interpreted.

Go see it! too short for me - wanted to see longer version.

Hopefully dvd will include longer footage and next movie will have more racial diversity and musical diversity... not totally Gaelic sounding music.

Summary: Review of:Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring
Review: First of all, unless the spectator knew the story behind the "Ring" and Bilbo Baggins and Gollum, he could be confused as to misunderstand the whole premise of the trilogy.
Secondly, there was far too much violence in the movie and not enough to show the intelligence of the Fellowship (members) of the Ring. It would have been nice if the band with Frodo showed some intelligent planning to achieve their objective. The sentence uttered by Aragorn and company "Let's go hunt some orcs" was not at all smart! After all, the orcs greatly outnumbered them.

Summary: My favorite movie of 2001!!
Review: I have read the Lord of the Rings 3 times in my life, and I have started it again after seeing Peter Jackson's cinematic masterpiece. I am so glad the producers and the studio didn't chop the movie down to a 2-hour Reader's Digest version of the book. The film was just long enough to convey the essence of the story without leaving you feeling cheated. Kudos a thousand times over to the screenwriters and editors for doing such an excellent job!

Today's filmmaking technology didn't get in the way of making this a very great film about the power of faith and friendship. The scenery is awesome to behold on the big screen--I'm definitely going to see this several times.

The cast is a wonderful ensemble, particularly Sir Ian McKellen and Elijah Wood's performances. Viggo Mortensen and Sean Bean and Sean Astin make for fine soldiers and swordsmen. Cate Blanchett literally looks and sounds like a vision in her very brief appearance. I also really enjoyed Liv Tyler's character and her look. I hadn't seen her in a movie before, though I know she has done a few. Looking forward to seeing some of these characters again when the next movie is out in Christmas of 2002!

The DVD edition will hopefully be full of extras and commentary. Don't miss this! You will believe in the magic of the Ring!!!!

Summary: Best Movie
Review: That has absolutely got to be the best movie I've seen in my life. I've seen it twice in the theaters (not nearly enough times) and plan to see it AT LEAST once more before it leaves the theater, because it just won't be the same on video. Please, if you have not seen this movie- see it!

Summary: THE BEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD!
Review: I am a huge Harry Potter fan; i have every book she has written, posters hanging all over my room... you get the picture. My mom bribed me into seeing this movie, so I (reluctlanty) went with her. I LOVE IT! Forget Harry Potter! I've seen the movie 3 times, and I want to see it a million more! I'd never read the books until after I saw the movie. It stayed very true to the books, much more than the Harry Potter movie did. GO SEE IT!

Summary: A pleasant surprise; definitely a must-see for Tolkien fans
Review: I supressed my excitement when I first heard of The Lord of the Rings coming to theaters. I expected it to be simply another Hollywood action flick that would omit important parts of the story line and paint an inaccurate picture of what Tolkien intended in his book. However, I was very surprised and pleased when I finally did view the movie. I didn't notice any variances to the book, all important scenes were included, and the personalities of the characters were preserved remarkably well. My only problem with the movie is having to wait two more years to see the next two parts!
I highly recommend this movie to anyone familiar with Tolkien's trilogy, "The Lord of the Rings." Whether you are a huge fan or simply enjoyed reading the trilogy, the movie will be worthwhile. If you are not familiar at all with the book, I would not recommend seeing the movie, since it has no conclusion (it's only the first of three installments). You will only be left wondering why you wasted your three hours and six bucks.

I think that the cast did a very good job and I can't wait for the next movie to come out X-mas 2002.If you haven't seen this movie WHAT are you waiting for. Go see it and I'm sure you'll LOVE it just like me!!!

Summary: Great Movie
Review: This movie was wonderful. It was not as good as the book, but seemed to go along with it. It was almost exactly like the book, except it was shortened. If you are looking for a movie to go see, definatly go see this.
