Summary: Oh, I just can't wait for the DVD!
Review: I must say that I just love THE LION KING...it is my favorite animated Disney classic. To me, THE LION KING is better than BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and perhaps even SNOW WHITE. To make it all clear: Disney is planning to release THE LION KING in IMAX theaters sometime in January of 2003, and the Platinum DVD is supposed to come out sometime in 2004 (which I will definitely purchase a copy of). You all know the story of Simba...the young African cub who just can't wait to be king. The music to this movie is absolutely wonderful and magical--Elton John and Tim Rice at their best! The voices for each character are perfect--you couldn't have asked for better actors! And the animation is just superb! I can't wait for the DVD and the release in IMAX theaters. I didn't see BEAUTY AND THE BEAST in the IMAX theaters, but if THE LION KING is released in IMAX theaters, then I will definitely see it. I'll be first in line in the Disney store to purchase my very own copy of the DVD when it hits shelves in 2004!

Summary: Wonderful !!!!!
Review: I loved the Lion King it is definitely one of my favoritest Disney movies (and I have almost all of the animated ones) In my opinion this is one of the best in the past ten years if not 100 years. Just a comment to "A viewer from Oklahoma United States " Just to let that person know that Disney is putting Beauty and the Beast out on DVD October 8, 2002 with three different versions of the film (original, special edition, and one other i can't remember). Then later this year they are supposed to rerelease the Lion King (probably in a special ed.) and will most likely be released on dvd next year in October (like how Snow White was released this year). Thanks for your time!

Summary: An wonderful teaching tool!!!
Review: This is my all time favorite Disney movie. By far there best. I am a pastoral studies major at college and have to give sermons in my church. I have preached a sermon using a clip of the Lion King as an illustration and basis for one of my sermons. I used the clip where Raffiki is telling Simba that his father is alive because he lives in him. This is a wonderful illustration.
I highly recommened this movie for entertainment/teaching/ or whatever else...The animation, the dialogue and the music is beyond measure to any other Disney movie I feel...I Can not wait until it comes out on DVD!!!!

Summary: Best movie ever depicted
Review: The movie Lion King is the best depicted movie from a past time ever made. this movie was a rendition of the Shakespearse's "Hamlet". The story of Hamlet (Simba)was the death of his father (Mufassah) in which the Claudius (hamlet's uncle/Scar) killed his own brother, married the queen (Sherobi)and took over as king. While in office he took advantage of young Hamlet (Simba) and told him to run away in his time of grief. Hamlet listened and to soon return toface the grief and to find the murderer of his father. Hamlet (simba) later found out that his uncle (Scar) had killed his father and he then challenged him for the throne. Hamlet won and was king for a split second until he died from the battle, however Simba lived and took over as king. A wonderful rendition of a beautiful classic. The Lion King, the best movie ever depicted.

Summary: disney's best
Review: Of all the Disney animated films, I think that this one is my favorite. My kids absolutely love it, so I have probably seen it 30 times, perhaps more. And each time, embarassing as it is to admit, this story moves me and I see subtle details I missed the last time round. Perhaps I am overly sentimental, but I think it is truly great drama and that there is even wisdom in it.

With its ecological message and the far deeper calling to live up to potential and responsibility, it has great lessons to convey. I talk about them to my kids, who understand them through the love that the old king Mufasa conveys to his son. Then there is the comic relief of Timon and Pumba, who are truly original court-jestor creations. Even...Scar, so brilliantly personified by the voice of Jeremy Irons, exudes uncanny arrogance and selfishness. There are also the wise fool, Raffiki, and the slimy Hyenas.

Although it is fashionable to dislike Disney films as some kind of symbol for American cultural imperialism, I must admit that I really really like just about all of them. Sure, they simplify old tales and add happy endings or eliminate tasty ambiguities, but what is wrong with that?...

Warmly recommended.

Summary: Lion King In IMAX Theatres!
Review: As everyone's been buzzing about the IMAX re-release of The Lion King coming On January 1st 2003 I find it more interesting I mean Beauty & the Beast was re-released on New Years day January 1st 2002 that's odd that there re-releasing this on the same day but in 2003!!! I imagine they'll be re-releasing Pocahontas on January 1st 2004 okay maybe I'm thinking way ahead of myself to the future but it could happen! Maybe, maybe not! Who knows maybe they'll add a new song to the IMAX release just like they did with Beauty & the Beast the song was called Human Again anyways I recommend you go see this when it gets released in 2003 in the mean time watch the movie it's Terrific!

Summary: Spiritual and uplifting, really warms the heart!
Review: This is the best movie I have seen since....well...ever! The music is rich in spirit and the artwork is tremendous...ear and eye candy, topping it off with a rich plot. This, my friends, is a full course meal including appetizers and desserts. Absolutely amazing, really deserves to be on Disney Platinum. However, some news for you, the DVD's expected release is 2004, I have spoken to Disney Officials at the Mall of America in Minnesota.

Summary: Coming out in IMAX - soon in DVD
Review: In case you haven't heard, The Lion King is being re-released in January 2003. That means it should come out on DVD in October 2003, as part of the Disney Platinum DVD editions. Snow White was the first, and Beauty and the Beast, which is out this year in IMAX, will be the second. Both released in October. This film is the greatest! The animation is awesome and the sound is incredible. It will be so awesome to hear James Earl Jones' voice booming from IMAX speakers!
