Summary: Amazingly Spectacular!!
Review: I just recently bought the special edition DVD version. And it's amazing. I love the layout of where to go on the DVD and I can't believe how many special features it has.
The movie itself is for all ages. The tail of a lovely woman and a romantic hero, but it's also funny, and has lots of cool star's and guest stars throughout. Carey Elwes (Glory) plays the romantic hero in the movie who goes to try to rescue Buttercup (Played by Robin Wright (Penn) who makes her first movie debut). Cute scene's include Billy Crystal and Carol Kane as a married couple who fight over the Prince and other matters. This DVD version includes more than I think than the original version. I has a brand new Documentary featuring all new interviews by Carey Elwes, Robin Wright Penn, Billy Crystal, Mandy Patinkin and much more! Also new audio commentary by Rob Reiner or you can have the choice to have the audio by the author from the novel of the movie William Goldman. They have really cool special footage over the making of the film, and beautiful 88 extra photo's of the cast and characters, and behind the scene's. It's another one of my instant favorites. I love the movie as a young adult and now an adult. Kids today I know love this movie, and it's like I said before an instant Classic. A great DVD and is really worth the buy!

Summary: Is There a Better Movie? Inconceivable!
Review: Is "The Princess Bride" the best movie of all time?

Probably not. Roger Ebert isn't always right. :) But "The Princess Bride" is among my favorites.

The whimsy of childhood tales and adventurous dreams, mixed with witty dialogue and solid storytelling, "The Princess Bride" "The Princess Bride" is as entertaining as any movie can be.

Clean and wholesome without being saccharine-dull, "The Princess Bride" is filled with intelligent barbs and comments that keep me coming back for more. The plot is as classic as any myth, its romance as honest as any love story, and the action as swashbuckling as anything Errol Flynn ever did.

Sure, "Citizen Kane" might be better made. And "Casablanca" might have more to say. I don't care. Give me "The Princess Bride!"

Whether you enjoy a campy "This is Spinal Tap" or "Rocky Horror Picture Show," or anything Monty Python has made, you will laugh at the subtle lines, and cheesy romance for years.

Not every comedy can be watched a dozen times. Fewer still can be watched two dozen times. I'm no movie buff, but I've seen "The Princess Bride" somewhere between 30-50 times. Funny... hilarious, every time.

Watch with your children and grandchildren, your church group and your girl/boy friend. You won't be disappointed.

I fully recommend "The Princess Bride." Then read the book. Just as funny.

Review: The extras are good but the movie (of course) steals the show.

Summary: "Anybody want a peanut?"
Review: I'll be short and sweet...the best movie of all time! Here in my house we watch this movie often, and at work it is always quoted. It is the rare type of movie that is enjoyed by adults and kids (even us adults with no imagination)! You must watch this video- definitly one of my top 5 picks.

Summary: Hard Core Comedy! #3 Cult film!
Review: So how do I review a movie that everyone has seen??? After all, this film is third to "Rock Horror" and "Buckaroo Banzai" in the cult film count-down.

This film is a parody of medieval fairy tales/romances much like "Shrek" or "Don Quixote." We all grew up on these stories so we understand the playfulness, the jokes, and the mock of conventions. Rob Reiner is a master in translation Goldman's book to the screen. It is not a perfect transliteration, but a transposition to the idiosyncracies of film. I have read the book and was not disturbed in any way--Reiner got the spirit of the book right!

This is a hard-core film popular among the college crowd. So that tells you something about the appeal of this film. A fun film, with only two objectionable words it, which, by the way, is fewer than the four found in "Star Wars: Episode IV A NEW HOPE." You can use the mute. Plus some children might be disturbed by the blood in the sword

This film has great one-liners, and is perfect for quoting:

"You say it's impossible because no one has done it before."
"Life is pain. Anyone who says differently is selling something.."
"Mawage."
"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia [!]; and only slightly less well known is this: Never go in against a Sicilian, whendeath is on the line!"
"Anyone want a peanut?"
"Inconceivable."

As a comedy, I won't spoil any of the jokes, but as a testimonial, I have enjoyed the movie many times over and it still has not lost its luster. And that is the mark of a good film!

Summary: You don't see what i see
Review: This is just one of those feel good movies. If you have the mad reds then pop this movie in, you'll feel better. I would put it in the list with movies like Black Rage, Big Truck Crush, PI, and 2 for the road. So if you are the type of person who would chew off your arm to set yourself free, then don't buy this movie it's not for you.

Summary: One of my all time favorites
Review: This is a great movie. It has a great cast. It's funny. It has so many great lines. You can watch it over and over and it's still fun. I bought it as soon as it was available. To most that see it, it's a classic. It's hard to find an absolutely great family movie, but this is one of them.

Summary: Good movie, but the movie companies screw us again
Review: Most people know of and like this movie, so I won't go into the content of the film itself. HOWEVER, do NOT buy this DVD. A disturbing trend has been taking place in DVDs, in that movie companies "rush" to get a DVD out and then re-release it with additional items a year or so later. This is incredibly annoying and they're laughing all the way to the bank. DVD wouldn't be as popular as it is if it wasn't for the extra features...trailers, documentaries, commentaries, etc. In my opinion, no DVD should be produced that doesn't have these "basics": widescreen format, commentary by the director/screenwriter/editor/etc., trailers and at least a "making of" documentary. By seeming to "atone" for previous releases that lack these items, the companies are making special editions which add these things that should have been there in the first place. What about all us poor souls who went ahead and got the "rush job"? You either buy the new release or fume over the knowledge that a better version is out there and you're stuck with an inferior version.

Summary: Best Movie in All The Land!
Review: I have seen this movie at least 200 times and it never gets old. I have the whole thing memorized and I love love love love this movie. Its full of amazingly witty and clever rapparte and wonderful satire. Its a must see for anyone. And, if you don't like it I'll give you a papercut and pour lemon juice on it!
