Summary: Great......Sound?
Review: Did anyone notice that there is essential dubbing missing or have Fox become politically correct? In Alien there are two scenes where the characters of Dallas and Ripley speak but nothing comes out. Dubbing is missing - can you believe it and at these prices? Then there is a scene where Parker says 'spit on it for Christ sakes' well, you see his mouth motion 'Christ' but only 'sakes' comes out.

Then in Aliens the sound actually sits on top of the film. Is the track off? It certainly looks that way because every breath that Ripley takes is larger than life but unfortunately is a beat ahead or behind the action.

Come on guys, don't you know that we movie fans own the VHS tapes before we upgrade to DVD and may even know some of the dialog by heart (yup that means the missing dialog that you didn't include on this disc). I am wholly disappointed that these discs are NOT the same as the VHS. Its not just the money - we want ALL of the original movies, dubbing, scenes and extras. Shame on you Fox! Buyers beware.

Summary: 3 is a whole new movie
Review: If you bought the first set and didn't plan on getting this, reconsider. It couldn't be any better than this. There are new scenes all over the place in the Director's Editions. If only we didn't have to wait until 2010 to get a StarWars release like this, bite me George.

Summary: WARNING=BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!
Review: I am a HUGE fan of the Alien series and was greatly anticipating this set. I've viewed most of the disks, and of the ones that played for me, I was greatly impressed. The content seems unsurpassed. HOWEVER, I went through two sets with Amazon and had to return both due to scratches on the disks and disks that would not play (even without scratches). I have one of the latest state-of-the-art DVD players, so it can't be my machine.
Even if the unscratched disks played normally, there is still the major issue of badly scratched disks and a digi pak liner that pops out and is sharp enough to badly scratch disks if they are not carefully replaced. I am either waiting the inevitable "fix" that will come to this set, or may buy the disks individually. I realize many people are getting good sets, but my luck brought me two scratched ones. Buy at your own risk!

Summary: The ULTIMATE EDITIONS
Review: This 9 disc box set is awesome! While the first two films (ALIEN and ALIENS) are still the best it's cool to get to see the "SPECIAL EDITION" of David Fincher's "ALIEN 3". Which is better than the original release of "ALIEN 3" and both versions of "ALIEN: RESSURECTION". And as for the DVD extras... over 40 Hours! Plenty of replay value from this Box-set. However I must say that all four films are better to be seen in their "SPECIAL EDITION" versions. That's really where this box set shines.

Summary: Alien Quadrilogy
Review: The Alien Quadrilogy is the ultimate DVD set for the alien saga. Unlike the Alien Legacy(Which was also good too.) this set is packed with extras. There are featurettes and photo galleries in Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production catergories on seperate discs for each movie. The bonus disc has a 1 hour long documentery on ALIEN with theatrical teasers and trailers on all movies along with TV spots.

ALIEN is the scariest of all the ALIEN movies. The one unigue thing about this DVD is that the Director's Cut is one minute shorter than the theatrical version. There wasn't much added, but the extra/extended scenes were pretty special. The special feature disc has 201 minutes(rounded) of extras. I prefer the Director's Cut of ALIEN because the added stuff makes it perfect. On my scale this movie is a 9.2/10 and third favorite in the series.

ALIENS to be honest with you is kind of over-rated. I heard it was great, but I was disapointed after seeing the Special Edition. Then I viewed the original version, now I like it a lot better because I don't have to wait an hour before the action starts. ALIENS has 151 minutes of extras on the features disc. I gave ALIENS a 9/10 only because of the theatrical version. It was my least favorite in the series.

ALIEN 3 had a mix of action and suspense in it. I hate reading about how bad it was, I just didn't understand. If you hate this movie I would like you do give it another chance and watch the Special Edition. I thought the extra 30 minutes were great and most of the plot holes will be filled in. ALIEN 3 has 164 minutes of features on its secon disc. I give it a 10/10 on my scale and it's my favorite.

ALIEN RESURRECTION isn't is scary as 3 and the first, but it has the most action in it. I,ve watched 3 times in a row and I keep liking it more and more. The CGI aliens don't look terrible! You can actually see one fore more than 2 seconds before it gets blasted like in ALIENS or disappears in ALIEN. Besides I think the aliens look the best in ALIEN RESURRECTION. The extras are cool revealing the basketball scene showing that Ripley really made the backwards shot and one of Winona's secrets in the Underwater scene featurette. It has 180 minutes of extras. I give it a 9.7/10 and it's my second favorite.

This is my favorite box set, I also like the Rocky set too. Having the Special Editions and Theatrical Versions are a real treat. This is a must for any ALIEN fan.

Summary: Finally There All Out!!!
Review: I am a huge fan of the Aliens series and have been waiting patiently for all of them to come out in a boxed set. This boxed set is awesome, not only does it have all of the great Alien movies but it also includes bonus material on every single movie there is. So not only does it have four great movies, but it also has great DVD features. I had read a review on the quality of the DVDs. I recommend this set to any Alien fan.

Summary: Rated 10 Stars!!! It is that special!!!!!
Review: Overkill with DVD releases is certainly frustrating....you think you have the best version of your favorite movie on DVD that the studio could ever possibly put out already in your collection, and bam! A new, improved, remastered, high quality, new super soundtrack, superbit release is coming out!!! You just have to have it! It replaces anything that has ever been released beforehand......
come on.........how many copies do we have to get before the studios get it right???
Ridiculous, right????
Well, they actually got it right this time ( after quite a few versions released already)...........
Oh well........
I hate to say it.....but this sucker is incredible...immense.....unbelievable.....over 5 ft. long....and heavy!!!! The packaging leaves alot to be desired....I saw a foreign release where they presented it as a book, with pages of DVDs....not the hard to handle, fold out 5 ft. package.
But enough about the package........the insides are a dream come true for any Alien fan....so much material, new versions never seen before, new commentaries, documentaries......I can't list all the goodies packed into this beast. Needless to say, this is highly recommended...
if you get only one special set this year, make it a doozie and get this one...you will not be disappointed....I have only gotten about one tenth of the way through this set, and everything has been above and beyond what any other set has had to offer. (the Lord of the Rings sets are close, and also must haves). No point in getting into the guts of this special set...........all I can do is to let you know that it is worth your hard earned money.....you gotta go get this set. Only sad thing is that David Fincher didn't get involved, but every other filmaker has added a tremendous amount of goodies, and each contributed a special version of their film just for this DVD set. A tremendous job by all, especially Fox......a DVD release they can really be proud of.......
This is truly what DVD should be about....pristine versions of the films, with super soundtracks, and lots of extras and behind the scenes goodies that you can watch anytime in the comfort of your home.
DVD's rule......and this is certainly a contender for the "king" of DVD releases so far. Ridiculously highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did I mention.....
GO GET IT???? A.S.A.P.?????????

Summary: This is as good as any DVD set gets.
Review: This gives you everything you have ever wanted and more. The bet feature in this set is that it gives you two main ways to watch one movie. The regular version and the uncut version. Every rumer you might have heard about the series that you never saw, comes to you in the uncut version. I give this my highest marks A+

Summary: Fabulous, IF the disks weren't scratched and flawed!!!!!!!
Review: The content is great....I reiterate every great thing others have said. But, what isn't said here is that about 50% of the sets sold are scratched and/or flawed. They freeze up and are unplayable. This is why there are SO many used for sale...when the set just released! Be especially cautious buying used sets. I personally have purchased the 4 individual CEs, and am delighted with them. I do not experience any of the same problems with these as I did with the Quad set.

Summary: The First Three are Flawless!
Review: You Know I'm really tired of people bashing Alien(3) I think this film was excellent, it brought back the claustrophobic fear of the first film, it was dark and atmospheric, stylishly directed, very gothic. I always knew there was a large portion of this film that was edited before it's release in theaters, too many plot holes near the middle and later in the film (fortunately restored). The nerds dislike this movie because Mr. Fincher killed off Ripley at the end(much to my dismay), I thought it was a powerful and moving moment and somehow strangely appropriate. My advise "Get Over It Nerds!!!". Now Nerds let's talk about the real turkey in this bunch(Alien Ressurection), I remember sitting in the theater waiting in anticipation for the movie event of that year(at least for me it was) I was so excited!, after the film ended I was so ticked off! IT WAS ABSOLUTE S#!#!!!!!!!,a massive pustule, an abomination, a cancerous sore, garbage on a grand scale. The writing was incondite and sloppy, the acting was the pits, chessy special effects, just horrible in every aspect, they had turned one of my favorite francise's(Alien) into a bombastic Commercial travesty! with no redeeming memorable value! My GOD it was STUPID!, STUPID!, STUPID!, STUPID!. There I vented. Buy this DVD for the first three films they're worth the price alone. Just forget the forth, as far as I'm concerned this trashy film doesn't even exist!.
