Summary: This is going to be great!.
Review: i am looking so forard to getting this movie. I love superheros.. Batman, Superman, so when my husband said.. so want to go see Spiderman... i was a little nervous. But i went.. and man it was good! It was into the whole movie. I love that they show him "changing" into spiderman, and the route that it took for him to become spiderman. This is a wonderful movie. I liked it so much we saw it three times in the theatre. It was well worth every penny. Which there are a lot of movies i wish that i wouldn't have seen and wasted my money, but this one.. was WELL WORTH it!!!

This collection would be GREAT for Christmas!!!

Summary: Not bad
Review: I have great expectataion for Spider-man. Although it did not impressed me, neither I am disappointed. The actions are there. Storylines are there. So what is missing? The special effects! I feel that it is just a bit "too computer". But overall, it is still consider a nice show. The dvd gift set is very nicely done. Should get if you are not even a fan of spider-man.

Summary: If you buy one dvd all year, make it this one!!!
Review: Where do I begin? This movie simply flatout [super]!! I have loved Spiderman since I first discovered him through th cartoon series of the late 70s/early 80s. I don't recall everything about it, but I do remember that I wanted to be Spiderman.

This movie does a great job of transporting me back to that time in my youth. The attention to detail in the special effects and the overall appearence of this movie is amazing. The characters are dynamic and interesting. There isn't a single lull point in this movie. The action is fast paced, well done and exciting. The film really makes you feel as if you were there with Peter Parker. Willam Defoe is perfect as the Green Goblin ....

This movie has it all. Action, love, good vs evil and a plot!! When I left the theater I felt like I could do that. I wanted to do that. It was fun! I can't wait for this dvd to come out so I can experience it all over again and check out all the amazing extras.

This movie probably won't win the Oscar for movie of the year, but it should. Buy it and see why!!!

Summary: A good adaption!!
Review: As a fan of the Original "Batman" & "Superman", this was a nice comic-book adaption, Tobey McGuire & Kristin Dunst were cast perfectly here as Peter Parker & Mary Jane Watson, although I liked "Attack of the Clones" better in comparison, I can give this one credit where it is due, In this we see the story unfold as Peter, a high school geek, is smitten with Mary Jane, who has a very intimidating boyfriend, on a field trip to a labratory, he is bitten by a radioactive spider, at first his body has a flu-like reaction, but soon his DNA adapts, giving him un-limited power & strength, he soon ajust to his new-found sense of self, & like "Batman" doesn't become a crime fighter until crime hits him personally, Willem Dafoe is here as the Green Goblin who wrecks vengence on those responsible for ousting his alter-ego Norman Osbourne in his research for super strength, it is this action that draws the attention of Peter & his alter-ego, Dafoe is at times quite comical especially when Norman apologizes for being late for a diiner date in which he declares that "work was murder today, sorry I am late" as the Green Goblin wrecks havoc on NY, Spiderman leaps into action & the showdown is quite good, at one point he even suggest Spidey join him, a tempting offer, but he refuses & the Goblin then goes after Mary Jane in an attempt to lure Spidey into a trap, which he does & the two fight it out on what appears to be the Brooklyn Bridge with Mary Jane's fate hanging in the balance, this is where the special effects really come to life, & is a real treat, with a sequel on the way, one can only wonder if it will be ruined the way "Batman" & "Superman" were ruined with their seqeuls, hopefully not, but likely, overall a good movie!!!

Summary: I can't believe I wasted 2 hours of my life...
Review: In my opinion, I think this movie was completely, well...stupid. Spider-man was laughable and the Green Goblin reminded me of a Power Ranger. I have to admit Willem Dafoe is a good actor, but I don't know why he would agree to play the part of a scientist/businessman/robot who flies around on a magical surf board.

Most likely the younger audience will find it to be a "really awesome movie", but I think this whole film just went to hell with all the pointless humor, kiddish entertainment and flat-out boring hero vs. villian concept.

Instead of "Stupid-Man" I HIGHLY recommend "X-Men", a great movie as well as an excellent adaption from a comic series.

Summary: Spidey rocks!
Review: I was surprised to find I enjoyed this movie even more than Attack of the Clones--and I'm a big Star Wars fan. Partly it was the novelty of the movie, since I didn't know as much about Spiderman man as I did about Superman and Batman, for example, when I was a kid and was reading comics. And partly it was the fact that this was a more intimate movie than Attack of the Clones, since it concentrates on many fewer personalities and goes much more into the development of the Peter Parker character and his immediate family and friends (as well as his enemies).

The movie does a great job of realizing Spiderman's abilities, which are put to good effect in the movie. The fight scenes with the Green Goblin are really well done, and the movie seems to succeed without nearly the amount of special effects that the Star Wars movies are using.

One minor detail. In the original comic strip, Peter acquires his amazing abilities after being bitten by a radioactive spider. In this movie, he's bitten by a genetically engineered super-spider, whose DNA interacts with his own to give him his new-found abilities.

All in all a great movie for the summer. Big Steve says go see it and don't Bogart the popcorn.

Summary: A very feature packed DVD!
Review: I have seen the special edition dvd and let me say that there are so many features! I rented the FULLSCREEN VERSION which I have to say butchers the movie's video quality. The image looks scratchy (you can definitely tell it's not remastered by looking at the Columbia logo in the beginning) and unfiltered. Hopefully the Widescreen version will look a whole lot better. Here is a list of the features and comments about them:

Disc One:
Weaving the Web: Subtitled Factoids (Haven't viewed the movie with those yet)
Director, Producer and Cast Commmentary (The only cast member is Kirsten Dunst)
SFX Commentary (Pretty much just the SFX team talking about the SFX)
Branchuing Web-i-sodes (Haven't viewed them yet)
Music Videos: Hero by Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott and What We're All About by Sum 41 (The Sum video sucks as does the song, but Hero is the standout video!)
TV Spots (It even has the Cingular Wireless commercial on here)
Theatrical Trailers (Spider-Man, xXx, Men in Black 2, Stuart Little 2, Stan Lee's Mutants, Monsters & Marvels, Mr. Deeds)
Filmographies and Character Files (Just text)
DVD-Rom (RECORD YOUR OWN COMMENTARY, how can you not love that!)

Disc Two:
HBO Making of Spider-Man (Standard HBO making of)
Spider-Mania: An E! Entertainment Special (Have not viewed it, but it sounds interesting)
Director Profile: Sam Raimi (Haven't seen it)
Composer Profile: Danny Elfman (zzzzzzzz!)
Screen Tests (Tobey "Spider-Man" Maguire, Kirsten "M.J." Dunst, J.K. Simmons)
Costume and Makeup Tests (Do I really need to add a comment)
Gag/Outtake Reel (Lots of Willem Dafoe outtakes)
Conceptual Art & Production (Design Gallery)
Historical Documentary- Spider-Man: The Mythology of the 21st Century (Self descriptive)
The Spider-Man Comic Archives
Rogues Gallery
The Loves of Peter Parker
Comic Book Artist Gallery
Activision Game: Hints and Tips
DVD-Rom (The video game, Dotcomics, Spider-Man visualizer)

All the features are nice. I recommend getting the Widescreen version though!

Summary: VERY GOOD....
Review: Yes, I agree with all of the reviews saying Spider-Man Really Rocked! And the Special DVD with the comic and other extras will be on my list of must have DVDs to get. I grew up watching the old Spidey cartoon and reading the comics when I was a kid. But I also grew up reading and watching Star Wars, so I have to give both movies thumbs-up. Because they were both very good in their own ways. P.S. The DVD edition of Spidey to buy is the one with all the extras like the reprint of "Amazing Fantasy #15 in the box!
