Summary: Terrific Movie, Some issues with DVD ROM
Review: I won't say too much about the movie, other than to say that it is my favorite of all the Superhero movies that have been made. The DVD set is terrific with ton's of great extras. However, the menus are difficult to navigate on a computer. I can't seem to click directly on a menu item. Instead, you have to move the cursor around for a while until I find just the right spot where the little hand appears. In fact, there are some options that I have just not been able to select from my computer. These problems don't crop up when watching on a TV.

Summary: I love this movie.
Review: I think that this is a very wonderful movie.
I was able to see this movie, without being bored.
Furthermore, Tobey Maguire is very beautiful.

Summary: don't waste your money
Review: what can i say? this movie is horrible! the script, plot, and special effects are the worst i've ever seen in a 'blockbuster' movie. when you compare this film to other films inspired by comicbooks such as the first batman film, x-men, and the first superman film, you will see that spider-man just dosn't hold up. maybe your little 12 year old brother would like it since he wouldn't know a good movie ...- which i think is why this movie grossed as much as it did.

Summary: AS GOOD OR EVEN BETTER THAN STAR WARS 2!!!!!
Review: This was an incredible dvd! Lots of extra features, but I could of cared less about the extra features, because the movie basically payed for itself. It was that good! I like this just as much as I like Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones! Check this one out and be prepared for the ultimate spin!

Summary: Wow, this DVD is cool!!!
Review: This is a must to buy for children the age of 10. It has 2 discs and one of the discs comes in a fold. It's about a story that a boy named Peter Parker becomes the amazing Spider-man.
Tobey Maguire from Wonder Boys. Kirsten Dunst from Bring It On and Willem Dafoe from Platoon.

Summary: A great family movie, but a little on the comic book side
Review: OK, I'll bet I'm the millionth person to review this DVD. My son had seen it at the theatres, but my wife and I hadn't, so it was a real family get-together when we bought this and watched it. We all enjoyed it, but I kept getting little nagging questions eating at me. Such as: aren't ANY of those so-smart kids going to college? No, they just go off to "the city" to pursue their respective careers. Spiderman's character yearns to be a photographer. OK, I'm sure those two high school classes will get you a quick interview with -- NOBODY! OK, I understand this is comic book fare here and not classic cinema and on the comic book level is more than delivers. The scenes where Spidey is zipping from building to building are great. Yep, he even bonks his head a time or two to remind us he's human. It was great to see Willem Dafoe on screen again, but his talent is wasted here. Yeah, he plays a great villain but he repeatedly reaches out to the young man who becomes Spiderman and we expect him to take him under his wing as a protege, but he doesn't! So, what's with the "Science Award, eh" scene, then? I've got to give this film kudos to being a movie a family can watch without hearing profanity utttered in every other sentence. It's entertaining. The plot is, well, comic book but fun, and my minor complaints aside, it's a good way for a family to get together for a couple of hours.

Summary: Spiderman delivered over the summer, the DVD is a diff story
Review: I won't take up too much time with a movie review but let's face it. Spiderman rocked the socks off of movie goers everywhere. It was everything it should have been and more. I couldn't have been happier with the product released in theatres that great summer ago. Now to the real meat of this review, the DVD release.

Could this DVD have been any more rushed?
1)Navigating the on screen menu is VERY hard when your guide is a tiny red dot you can barely even notice.
2) Features that were already shown on TV to do nothing but promote the film do not count as features taking you "inside" the making of the film.
3)While it may appear that there are alot of features they are very short and you will go through them so fast you'll wonder what the big hype was about.

After viewing this DVD I feel my spider senses going off, just as with the X-Men DVD I feel they are secretly planning a bigger and better release in the future. So proceed with caution, I on the other hand am content with just owning the movie. They won't get more money outta me.

Summary: One of the best superheroe smovies ever made...
Review: I still think Superman 1 & 2 with Christopher Reeves tops the charts as one of the best superhero movies. After all, who doesn't want to fly? But Spider-man takes a more down to earth hero from the comics successfully unto the big screen. Sam Raimi did a great job in bringing out the character as he's supposed to be unlike those tragedic Batman movies. They did take some liberties in Spiderman's origin and powers but it was still told quite nicely and, in some cases, like his organic webbing was a better change. I didn't think I would have liked this movie after having seen X-men. X-men was an ok movie but the mutant thing has been done to death. Didn't like their costume change either. Now, Spiderman shows that if you just portray the character seriously enough, you can still use those colorful comic costumes on screen and still be believable.
I think Tobey McGuire did an excellent job as Peter Parker. You really felt his anger at his Uncle's untimely demise. You really felt like swinging with him as he learned on the fly how to websling from rooftop to rooftop. And Kirsten Dunst, another character who I didn't think I'd believe in, portrayed a great Mary Jane Watson. Didn't even think her red hair annoyed me in the entire movie unlike Storm's godawful fake hair in X-men.
The dvd widerscreen is definitely the way to go. The black bars on the top and bottom aren't as big as other widescreen movies so you still have great picture even at a 27" TV. Lots of extras on the two disc set. Great animated menus although the interface is kinda weird with their shortcuts selection method. Takes awhile to figure out what does what. The movie itself is a great transfer. Clear picture and sound. Didn't see any artifacting or heard of people with faulty discs as of yet. Definitely a great movie at a great price. Kid's will love it. Adults will, too.

Summary: OK but I am having problems
Review: This dvd is truly good. I am however experiencing difficulties with my copy. I can not seem to get the subtitles to work and when I hit scene selection and select my scene, when I get there the audio is gone. Have I got a flawed dvd or is anyone else having these problems

Summary: Could have been so much better.
Review: This is an example of where the plot loses, once again to the effects. Don't get me wrong the effects are spectacular, and they are well woven into the story, but the plot is simply pathetic.

The plot: boy gets bit by spider; troubled CEO tests himself on latest product with obvious results. CEO goes insane, runs round in plastic suit. ...Only one man can stop him - SPIDERMAN!!!

Big battle - run credits.

Even the sub-plot of the love affair and the eternal triangle between Peter Parker and his two best friends is slow and mangled.

Bottom line - too slow, too simple, no twists, BUT great effects.
