Audience
The audience for this course includes End Users and Application Developers. Students should have basic knowledge of computer graphics, HTML, and Web-page design. Students should have knowledge about DreamWeaver, about how dynamic pages work, and about how to use ASP, JSP or ColdFusion. In addition, students should have taken the course Macromedia DreamWeaver 4, (13887), or equivalent knowledge of DreamWeaver is required before a learner takes this course.

Unit 1: UltraDev: An Introduction 1 - 2 hours

Identify the set of features of UltraDev that should be used to develop a Web site with the required specifications.
Identify the activities performed for creating a Web site by using UltraDev.
Identify the technology used to develop a dynamic Web site in a specific situation.
Identify the advantages of using a database-driven Web site compared with a Web site that is not database-driven.

Unit 2: UltraDev: Databases and Data Sources 1 - 2 hours

Configure an application server by using the Site menu.
Create a database connection by using an existing DSN.
Create a DSN by using the Data Source Name (DSN) dialog box.
Create a database connection by using a connection string.
Create a recordset by using a query.
Create a recordset by using a stored procedure.
Identify the type of server variable that can be used in a specified situation.

Unit 3: UltraDev: Working with Databases 2 hours

Add dynamic text to a Web page by using the Data Bindings panel.
Add dynamic images to a Web page by using the Insert menu.
Create dynamic form objects on a Web page by using the Server Behaviors panel.
Set HTML attributes dynamically by using the Property inspector.
Set the parameters of various objects dynamically by using the Insert menu.
Modify dynamic content on a Web page by using the Server Behaviors panel.
Copy files to an application server by using the Site menu.
Specify data for a Web page by using the Live Data Settings dialog box.
Display multiple records on a Web page by applying the Repeat Region server behavior.
Create a navigation bar in a single step by using the Recordset Navigation Bar live object.
