Summary: Microsoft® Windows® 2000: Upgrading from Microsoft® Windows
Review: Course Overview
This course provides students with a practical view of the tasks involved in performing the actual migration of domains to a Microsoft Windows 2000 environment. As with an actual migration, the steps to accomplish the process are rather mechanical and straightforward. The bulk of the work in the migration is in the planning, which has already been covered in other courses, and confirming that the migration was accomplished successfully. This course presents an in-depth look at the procedures a System Administrator should follow to confirm that the migration did not adversely affect the system performance. Troubleshooting, therefore is the principal emphasis in this course.

Learn To

Identify and troubleshoot problems associated with domain upgrade, user account, and domain access.
Identify and troubleshoot problems associated with network services, applications, and domain migration tool problems.

Audience
In addition to the principal audience of System Administrators, other MIS support personnel would benefit from this course. In some organizations persons whose principal duties are technical may also be required to perform the tasks instructed in this course. Students should have completed the following four NETg Windows 2000 courses (or passed the Microsoft exams which they map to) prior to taking this course: 72410 - 72412 Microsoft Windows 2000: Administration Parts 1 - 3 72413 - 72420 Microsoft Windows 2000 Installation, Configuration, and Administration Parts 1 - 8 72421 - 72425 Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure Administration Parts 1 - 5 72427 - 72431 Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure Parts 1- 5
