Rating: Summary: Crash Crash. Not being very productive... Review: I really wanted to make this work, since I'm an active Outlook user and believe in the Covey/7 habits way of thinking. To make a long story short, Outlook is now so unstable that I can't use it. I went round & round with email support, chat support and even phone support, but the bottom line is that the program is unusable. I've since deleted it from my system. I was informed today that a new upgrade will be available on 10/20/03. With any luck they have listened to their customers and will have something more solid. If the new version doesn't live up to my (basic) expectations, I'll be asking for a refund.
Rating: Summary: Franklin Covey software Wrecks Palm - Worse Than Virus! Review: I was angry when I found the Franklin Covey planning software wouldn't update Palm's "To Do" list, the most useful thing on the Palm--I had to buy a new Palm to get rid of it. You can't uninstall the FC Software. But worse, it REINSTALLED ITSELF on my new Palm AND ERASED A YEAR'S WORK. Even though I removed it from my computer. I'd like to throttle somebody with my bare hands. What a piece of crap.DON'T BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rating: Summary: Franklin Covey software Wrecks Palm - Worse Than Virus! Review: I WISH I had read the reviews in Amazon BEFORE I made the costly purchase! The software does not work well with Microsoft Office 2000. I downloaded the software, bought the CD, was using it for about a week--then a msg came up saying I had no more trial days to use the program. This msg appeared several days AFTER I had entered the 'Key Code'! When I tried to print my 'Mission/Values' my printer crashed! Also -- The Technical Assistance at FC was a joke! FC's paper products are great. Not so with the software!

Rating: Summary: Virus for Sale Review: I'd wait to buy this until they come out with version five or so. By then, the bugs might be gone. As it is now, I'm using Outlook 2002 on a Windows XP 3ghz machine with 1gb of RAM, and it takes me 34 seconds to load Outlook (time for the splash screen to go away). Occasionally it will tell me it had to disable PlanPlus on startup as well. The memory usage (if you leave it open all the time like I do) is high as well, although I don't notice it much, having such a leet box (translation: fast computer). I do give them 2 stars instead of 1 because it's pretty. Outlook 2002 on its own is really dull, especially after you've looked at it daily for years. The extras (like the Compass, Mission/Values, and Goals) are very similar to their planner kits' first few pages. So if you liked those, I'm sure you'll enjoy the extras on PlanPlus.

Rating: Summary: Great for Outlook...Terrible for Pocket PC & ActiveSync Review: I've found this this is a useful add-in for Outlook even though it's been a while since I've read any of Covey's stuff -- I think I'll make better even use of it after I revisit 7 habits. However, when it comes to syncing with other devices this product very quickly turns into a real stinker. Global Partners should have quit while they were ahead, ..., and not included Pocket PC / Sync functionality. Here are my experiences: - "Regular" tasks that were already in Outlook when PlanPlus was installed multipled like rabbits. Each time I tried to sync, one more copy of each task appeared on both my device and in Outlook. Even after turning off the "FC Task" for synching, my "regular" tasks still kept on getting copied over and over again. I basically have had to TURN OFF all synching of any type of task between my desktop and device. - When I still had this functionality turned on, the process of synching "FC Tasks" (like a regular Outlook task, but with a Covey twist) was *dreadfully* slow. Even though I connect my device to my desktop via Ethernet the FC Task synch process drags on forever. - Even though I have turned off FC Task / Regular Task Synching, ActiveSync now soft hangs at the end of any sync...In essence even though all syncing tasks are complete (Contacts, Mail, Notes, etc.), ActiveSync continues to be active ("spin") and the current session never ends. I have to click "Stop" in ActiveSync on the Device to finally get the AS Client on the Desktop to quit. Lesson learned...Buy this product if you are interested in the "Desktop only" features. When I have some time over the week-end, I intend to remove all the Pocket PC / ActiveSync functionality installed with this product in an attempt to get to the point where I can sync "regular" tasks again. I would have been *much* happier if I had never installed the "Device Stuff" -- I've wasted quite a bit of time trying to get it to work, then cleaning up the mess it made.
Rating: Summary: Stick With Franklin Planner Review: I've used Franklin planner for 6 years, I thought I would switch to Plan PLus to keep my outlook contacts and planner contacts in one place. Plan Plus wouldnt install hot sync so I had to reinstall my old planner so I could use my hand held. The new version has some good enhancements, but I much prefer many of the enhancements in the last version of Franklin Planner. If I were to go back one step I would just upgrade to the New Franklin PLanner Software, and not purchase Plan Plus
Rating: Summary: Very Unhappy Review: I've used Franklin products forever (pre Covey) and I even had Ascend when it first came out. I dropped it all in favor of my Palm and Outlook so I was really excited to get PlanPlus. It's been a complete pain. As some other users stated, it crashes Outlook on a regular basis. I too called tech support and was told to run the repair to no avail. They also told that they didn't KNOW when an update would be out. I couldn't believe that since it's a new release so I wrote to them and complained bitterly. They did write back but they weren't the least bit helpful. I wouldn't buy this product. I would go with Outlook at Chapura Pocket Mirror Pro.
