Rating: Summary: Would not travel without it - best for frequent travelers Review: I have been using Map N' go for several years. It has been especially useful in the 15,000 miles of travel in our RV from New England to Californa and to Florida. We have been in 32 of the 50 states with our RV and would not travel without it. It calculates the time and distance and tells me were the attractions and campgrounds are located with approx costs. We can save alot by knowing where all the Wal Marts, Flying J, Super K Marts so we can shop for grocercies, and supplies. If we need additional information all the AAA offices are included also. With our motorhome we cannot afford to go off road and get lost and waste gasoline. This has been the best product I have used. I use it on my laptop as we travel and my husband is worse than a kid -- how much longer --- this product is great. You can delete unwanted items. Like with any software program, the more you use it, the better it is as you find shortcuts and innovative ways to use it to calculate and find the best things to fit your own needs. For greater street detail I use the Street Atlas when we get to our distination.
Rating: Summary: AAA Map N' Go is OK - Sort of Review: I just bought, installed, and used this product to lay out a long trip. This software quickly plotted the trip which would be over roads ranging from interstates to secondary roads. It has a very large points of interest database and produced an extensive report (maps of various scales and lists of points of interest) and features (personalization options, integration with GPS).After about 5 hours of use, I found the product was not acceptable for my purposes and returned it. Some problems were: 1. When I tried to constrain portions of routes from interstate to secondary roads, the program would either show both routes or show the secondary route with a return to the secondary route start on the interstate. (Same behaviour if the road was a state vice interstate route.) Although an annoyance, this behaviour effectively added duplicate miles to the route total milage. 2. When points of interest are added, a bulk add to map feature is available. No delete from map is available. In one case I had added 208 points to the map, only to find that they all appeared in the final printout report. In order to remove the points, each had to be deleted individually - a large chore. In addition, some information apperared in the printout report of no value to me. I could find no way to delete this other data. 3. Documentation is marginal at best. Workarounds for the problems may have existed, but I could not find them in the documentation. 4. I am a AAA member so expected to see all AAA points of interest and accomodations. The information, when compared to AAA books, was incomplete. 5. The internet download features (road conditions) produced error messages but some data appeared. The above shortfalls may not be important to all - but evaluate this mapping product carefully before committing to extensive planning.

Rating: Summary: Map n go won't help you go.... Review: I purchased this program to replace an old "AUTO MAP the intelligent road atlas" by Nextbase Ltd. and am sorry that I did. I opened the package and tried to use it (which means I can not return it)- big mistake. My old program puts this to shame. The print out of the Directions (itinerary) are quite scant and you can not tell where you are as far as towns along the way are concerned. It is easy to use if you are just going from one place to another via freeways, but want to go someplace else and you are cooked. It may take you around the shortest routes instead of using secondary good roads that get you there just as fast. Time of travel can not be adjusted - all travel time starts at 0:00 and goes from there. My old program alowed you to start at 8:00 - 9:00 - 9:30 or whenever you wanted to start and gave the times along the way from there. My new purchase is now in the trash.

Rating: Summary: Best map program on the market Review: I've been using Map N Go for at least 5 years and decided to purchase aadditional copies for Christmas gifts. I have taken cross country trips and found the maps to be easy to read and accurate. One of the best features for me is the maps are printed in the direction you are traveling. That puts right hand turns on the right and left hand turns on the left instead of having to turn a standard map upside down. The quality and speed compared to internet generated maps is least 100% better.
Rating: Summary: Would not travel without it - best for frequent travelers Review: My sister and I are planning a trip to California. Since we have never driven ourselves there before, I bought this program to help us know where to go. It has taken a few weeks of playing with it to really find my way aroung in this program but, that's probably just me. It is a great tool for planning not only your route but for details along the way. It gives you names and locations of all sorts of points of interest like historical sites and museums as well as restaurants and hotels with addresses, phone numbers and average cost...Everything! And if you have kids to travel with, it even has games for different ages, up to adults, that you can print out and take along. If you want or need a lot of help in planning a trip or finding a location, I would say this is it.

Rating: Summary: Great software but it needs updating! Review: This is GREAT software, but AAA needs to update it! Already the 7.0 version is several years old. The maps in my area are out of date. I would GLADLY buy an updated version of this software if it were only available..
