Summary: Still A Great Product
Review: I've had no problem installing TurboTax this year, despite the reviews to the contrary. And incidentally, if anyone is interested, TaxCut is not easier to use. My advise is if you have been comfortable with TurboTax stick with it, you won't be disappointed.

Review: I don't understand what everyone is complaining about! I've bought turbotax this year(as I have for the past 3 years) and yes, there is a new code that needs to be entered, but what else is new with software these days? Microsoft has been doing this to us for years, so it looks like Intuit is just trying to protect themselves, which I see as no big deal. People are just making this a bigger deal than it really is. Turbotax 2002 is just as easy to use and great for my taxes. And I will still be buying the product next year! Don't listen to all these complaints, they dont know what they are talking about.

Summary: Keeping it Simple
Review: It works great. I had no issues installing or using TurboTax this year. I'm not sure what this... business is that everyone is complaining about but as far as I'm concerned, there is nothing I can't do with my PC that I couldn't do before so if it ain't broke--why complain?alled, but time will tell. Thanks Turbotax for WASTING my time and money.gh, that the new activation scheme caught me a bit by surprise. I can, however, understand why Intuit thinks they have to resort to these measures to protect their intellectual property. I don't seriously believe that their product installs spyware on my machine. Just about any application that is installed on a PC will load some kind of component into memory, and I do have the ability to remove anything on my PC that I don't want there.
Since I haven't fully used the product, I can't really rate the 2002 version. If my experience is the same as in past years, it will get another 5 star rating, as I usually get a nice refund. I prefer to try it out and see how things go before pushing the panic button. For all those people out there that don't like the product, uninstall it and ask for a refund. It's your money, you should be happy with what you get. Good luck.s in Mountain View, CA. I have written each, requesting an immediate refund for a product I refuse to use. I copied information I found on the web discussing negative aspects of this copy protection, and included that with my letters, in case these executives needed to know why I was so upset.Perhaps Intuit will respond with a more tolerable copy protection plan when enough people demand refunds, and express their dissatisfaction with the product.

Summary: Thank Goodness I Didn't Listen
Review: Because of all the negative reviews, I debated listening and not following my intincts. Thank goodness my instincts won out! I bought TurboTax and can't understand what all the fuss is about. It works great. After reading through the instructions, I called tech support. They told me they would walk me through uninstalling it...and they did! Thanks Intuit!

Summary: An Honest User
Review: Have any of you actually used TaxCut? All the issues people are having with installing and uninstalling etc. are all issues with TaxCut! After using both products and comparing the pros and cons, TurboTax wins hands down. And for those who complain about possibly needing to reaccess their tax return--I know this is the paperless age but keep a hard copy in your files!!!

Review: Despite what's written, people with complex returns, like myself, use TurboTax too. It works great. I've been using it for years and will continue to do so. Why would I complain about something that saves me so much time and money?

Summary: Read the Instructions
Review: I had no problems installing TurboTax on my desktop and laptop. It worked fine, I just had to copy the data back to the machine I did the original installation on. No big deal. As far as the software protection piece is concerned, if you read the instructions, it's not spyware it protects this one piece of software. It uninstalls pretty simply without doing anything to the rest of your machine. Don't look for trouble where there isn't any.
