Summary: Great For Students
Review: This is a fine office suite for students. I have purchased Office as a medical student and it seem to be a good investment. All the programs that are included are complete and fully functional. The programs are even upgradable at Microsoft's Office website. All security patches and improvements are available. Really, the only difference that I can see between the Students and Teachers version and the Standard version is the price, and for a Microsoft product, it's a bargain.

Summary: Response to user from Clarksville, TN & MS security patches
Review: The user doesn't know what he/she is talking about. I have used the various academic editions of MS software since the beginning of them and have never had any trouble with downloading (for free) or ordering a CD of the updates (service packs) from Microsoft and then installing them. I have them running now as I type this. Microsoft has been wonderful in offering discounted versions of their software to academic educators and students alike. Although they don't offer all the applications in the professional or deluxe versions, they offer the core of most interest to academics. As for the complaint about upgrades, why would you want to purchase an upgrade to the new version when if you purchase the next academic version that comes out you will be paying the same price (or less) than an "upgrade version?" Please check your facts before you post. Just clarifying this for others reading the reviews before purchasing. Enjoy!

Summary: Excellent Product
Review: This is an excellent product designed with the professional user in mind. I was required to purchase this professional version for a class that I am taking. Otherwise, I believe the Standard version would be sufficient for most people. I would have given it five stars, but the price is a bit steep. If the price doesn't scare you, then you cannot go wrong with this package. Also, get a decent microphone if you want to use the speech recognition feature.

Summary: DON'T WASTE TIME WITH ANY REBATES
Review: The software itself is okay... except for no potential to upgrade. The real bothersome aspect is if you purchase during a rebate period, forget it. I have sent two separate rebates to Microsoft (yes, I can read and followed the directions exactly) and they don't pay. They don't even acknowledge having received them. Imagine that this is the only company in the world that doesn't receive mail properly. I have purchased my last Microsoft anything. I will use freeware, cheapware, or whatever else is available... for myself and my company of well over 1,000 computers.

Summary: Some nice software but overpriced
Review: I bought Office XP only to find Open Office two weeks later which is free and nearly as good. Power Point is better than Impress in Open Office, but for the light use I make of it, I could easily use nothing but Open Office.

If you have 130 bucks to spend go for it, but I would recommend seeing if Open Office will work for you especially since you don't have to buy it and you don't have to worry about licensing...

If it is Free its for me...this aint free :(

Summary: Microsoft Office XP
Review: First I want to say that I bought this cd from comusave. Just wanted you to know that this company is quick to ship and reliable to do business with.
I rated this product a 5 star for its excel and powerpoint program. I found out one thing. OfficeXP Professional and Windows XP office suite do not like each other and I solved this problem of installation by first removing all the office suite from my computer then load the Microsoft Office XP Professional on it. Worked like a charm! So for all you out there that migh be having a conflict in software you might try what I did. Thanks Mary Oyerly

Summary: LOVE IT!
Review: It does everything the XP standard at an itty bitty price!
I love Bill Gates for giving us teachers a break!
It comes with word, excel, outlook and power point, I couldn't ask for more.

Summary: Review for Office XP for students and teachers.
Review: To start, Office XP for students and teachers is too [spendy]compared to Office 2000. There wasn't enough of a description of the product. The shipping in 24 hours is a plus.

Summary: Nice UI design
Review: That's all I have to say. Office XP tends to be quite unstable with my workstation (Pentium 4, 1GB RAM, Windows 2000 Pro). Oh, it has its upsides also. It has a nice UI design, the SmartTags feature are nice. But that's it. Just the (not-so-good) same-old same-old.

Summary: Microsoft hits a grand-slam
Review: Never have I come across a collection of applications that are so useful and well-integrated. The price might seem steep, but if you can afford it, it's well worth its price.
