Description:

SpartaCom CryptoGram is designed for effective security that is simple enough to ensure it will be consistently used. Its strength derives from Triple DES (168-bit) encryption, while tight integration with Microsoft's Windows 95/98 and NT, keeps it easy to use and non-intrusive to the end user.

After defining your keys, encryption is only a right click away. Simply select the file or folder you wish to secure, right click, and encrypt. You can also encrypt on the fly. Once a folder is secure, every file placed in the directory will be automatically encrypted. CryptoGram also has an option to automatically decrypt the file when opened by an authorized user. If you need to transmit secure information to someone not using CryptoGram, you can create a self-decrypting file. This self-decrypting file uses compression before encryption, allowing large files or groups of files to be sent safely and quickly over any transport method, such as e-mail, FTP, or floppy disk. When the self-decrypting file is executed, the recipient is prompted to enter the decrypting code that is supplied via a different communication path.

Secure Delete prevents any file recovery utilities from recovering deleted data. Secure delete is not limited to deletion of the physical file table address. It also overwrites the physical location of the file several times to eliminate any trace of the original files. When encryption keys are placed on a floppy disk, not only is a password needed before anything can be encrypted or decrypted, but users will have to physically insert the key holder diskette. A file cannot be decrypted or encrypted without it. Screen Saver Lockout prevents anyone accessing encrypted data with screen saver lockout and automatic time out. After a predetermined time of inactivity, CryptoGram will log off or lock your computer with a screensaver. A password must be entered before CryptoGram is reactivated.
