Description:
OCR (optical character recognition) eliminates the need to retype documents to get them into the computer. It converts a scanned image of a page into an editable electronic file, containing the words, numbers, and graphics of the original in computer-editable form. OmniPage Wizard has a friendly, Web-like interface that is intuitive, visually appealing, and easy to navigate. Users see graphical representations of the choices that affect OCR. OmniPage Wizard uses the recognition engine from OmniPage Pro 8.0, which boasts an accuracy rate of more than 99 percent on original-quality pages and provides higher levels of accuracy than most professional-level OCR applications. Caere's True Page technology precisely maintains the original layout of the scanned page, including attributes such as font size, font style (bold, italics, etc.), lists and tables, columns, and graphics.
