Rating: Summary: Serious email problems - here is a solution Review: I just love it. I was snowed under by emails and it was only getting worse (100-200 a day). If they were all spams it would be bad enough, but they aren't, I have to be able to make it clear what has come in from which list, and be able to place everything in order, without getting what has just arrived mixed up with what I got from an earlier session. It use to be a nightmare, and it is not anymore, what more can I say. Each time I download, all these mails are kept together (until the next download), each is coloured, the subject line and name of each email is extracted and a labeled according to the list it comes from and when I am finished everything is sent to its proper folder. Basically I just could not do it with Outlook or Eudora and I was wasting a lot of time opening up stuff I had seen before and missing stuff I was looking for. The trick is with the filtering, which can be customisied no-end, and the fact that I get get specific types of emails to trigger external scripts is frankly a bum saver (all the extraction of information is via a script triggered by each mail as it is downloaded, but bills and few other things get opened and filed separately). I cannot recomend this product too highly, especially to anyone who really has to rely on emails.
Rating: Summary: Better Documentation would make this a winner Review: I purchased this product about two weeks ago and almost threw it out since it was not intuitive and had virtually useless help screens, since they pertained mostly to REXX and not the menu driven operation of the system. I am not a company and don't need some of the features that this has. I don't really use the REXX scripts for the simple things that I do. Fortunately the tech support is reasonable good and I slowly got up to speed on the product by emailing questions and getting answers. Having become familiar with it's use, I now feel that it is a reasonably priced alternative to Outlook Express which most people have. It has many interesting features and is not hard to use once you learn how. I wish that it let you drag and drop messages into folders instead of having to right click and "move to", but other than that I like using it. There is some documentation on the web site, mostly for promotional purposes but it does shed some light on this. I think that this product would be and should be quite popular but it needs some documentation that should be a part of the download. A pdf file or HTML help that explained things would go a long way toward the success of an otherwise classy e-mailer. My earlier review was an expression of my initial frustration and is superceded by this one. But the kind of frustration that I originally felt will not, if experienced by others, help this product be successful.
Rating: Summary: It's never been easier Review: I've been using Mailer for 6 months now and glad to see it's now available on Amazon. I want to share the good news to others that there is help for heavy email users. I have multi email addresses and receive tons of mail. Lestecml mailer sorts my mail for me automatically. In fact it even responds to my spam mail without my intervention! I feel more protected against virus's as the program handles mail differently to most of the other email programs. Being able to color, comment and change headers to highlight emails using filters as it comes in (eg email with attachments etc), is great so that I can be sure that I really want to open them. To sum up, I love the technology that the internet has brought, all this up to date information sent right to my desk. Instead of endlessly plowing through all my emails I can now at last dictate what they do. It has never been easier.
Rating: Summary: Better Documentation would make this a winner Review: When I first downloaded and installed the product, I was very frustrated by the lack of documentation that came with the product and the inadequacy of the "Help" screens which reference the REXX scripts but not the menu driven functionality that most users would want. One should not have to hack away at a product in order to find out how to use it. I am a single user, not a company, and don't want to have to do any programming to get the mailer to work. I am a private user, not a commercial one and my needs are simple. Fortunately, the tech support is very helpful and with an exchange of five or six emails, I was able to get familiar enough so that I could use the product. Now that I have used it for a while, I can agree with the other reviewers that it is a fine piece of work. The only thing it could use is a drag and drop facility for moving certain emails to whatever folders you might want them in. Other than that, it has more sophisticated spam filtering than Outlook Express, which is what I used prior to this. I am happy to say I can recommend the product.
