Review: 1.) The Radio has 10 programmable presets for your favorite AM and FM Stations. The PLL Digital Tuner ((PLL) Phase Locked Loop) offers drift-free reception, and will adjust automatically to better receive your favorite radio station when necessary.
2.) The Player has a 21 Track Programmable CD Memory. It also has Random Play, Repeat 1/All, Track Skip Up/Down, and plays CD/CD-R/CDR-W discs, both MP3, and regular. 45 seconds of Anti Shock Protection with regular Music CD's, and 120 seconds in MP-3 Mode.

Summary: It's good, not great.
Review: As soon as I got it, I popped in one of my cds containing only mp3s. To my surprise, not all of my mp3s were recognized. I'd say, one-third of the mp3s on my cd was missing. On another mp3 cd, less than half were recognized. For those who are considering purchasing this cd/mp3 player, be aware that not all mp3s can be read. The sound is very good and the FM/AM tuner works well. In general, it's a good buy and easy to use. In my opinion, I would throw in a few more extra $ for a better quality player.

Summary: Works great for me!!
Review: I have had this player for over a week now and have had no issues. I have used various cd-rs of mp3s that were burnt on different pcs and have had no issues. The AM/FM stereo is competent enough, and I have had no issues playing normal cds. I haven't gone running with it, however I did shake it for over a minute with no signs of skipping. For the Price, this does everything I could want it to. The navigation is OK, could be better could be worse. I cannot comment on the battery life (i have used it mainly on a dc plug I had laying around--since it didn't come with one). It also played in my car through an old Koss cd-->tape deck converter. The display could use some work (only 2 lines are scrooled for meaningful information), the earphones pinched my ears over my glasses, the user manual is a bit sparse, and the mp3 folder navigation controls take some getting used to. But overall, if you are concered about having a functional player, without having to pay for all of the little features you never use anyhow, this is the one for you.

Summary: Great unit, but...
Review: I just got this unit at and have been testing it out. It works well so far and I love that it has a radio in addition to the CD/MP3 functionality. However, the behind the neck headphones that come with the unit don't fit my head well for some reason. Fortunately, I have other headphones I can use. In addition, I ran into the same problem as one of the other reviewers in that it would not play some of my MP3 files. After some experimentation, I discovered that the files that it wouldn't play had long file names. Once I shortened the names of those files to fewer than 26 characters, they played fine. As this is my first MP3 player, I don't know if this is a standard limititation. All in all, I think this is a great unit and a good value for the money.

Summary: Player skips, even in ESP and MP3 mode, but nice interface.
Review: I liked the interface of this player, but it has some real problems with skipping. At first I thought it was a problem with the media I was using to burn my CD's but then I used the media shipped with the product (you get 3 free CD's with the player) and found the player still skipped. The player would skip even without movement, at random, even in ESP mode, and while playing MP3 CD's. (With ESP off it almost wouldn't work.) Also, the player has no Hold switch. (The hold switch keeps you from accidently pressing buttons when the player is in your pocket or purse.) I returned it. You shouldn't buy it, go for a RioVolt or something from a more reputable company, like Sony, Panasonic, or even Phillips. Even if it costs a little more, you'll end up saving yourself the hassle of returning it. The interface and four line display, radio, and headphones are all very nice, much better than I expected, but that doesn't make up for the skipping.

Summary: Excellent Anti Skip and Sound Quality
Review: I needed something to play mp3/cd's and initially got it because of the high anti-skip time and its price. i first ordered a panasonic then cancelled it once i found out that it skipped a lot. the reviewer who got 'one day' (2 hours) battery life must have been using very low quality or already used batteries. first day i used it for 4 hours straight on kirkland signature batteries (mediocre costco brand) on mp3 with 120ESP, the batteries didnt get on low, and im stilling using those same ones now. Today I used this biking, street as well as bumpy trails, and it did not skip once in mp3 mode. Sound quality is good. I'd say the only negative thing it is not too big generally, but it is kind of thick. I also played mp3's from 56kbps-192kbps, had no problem playing any of them, but before I did my first CD i did what the other reviewer reccommended, making the files less than 26 chars. The radio is OK. The seek function isnt very good, so if you know the to the dot address of an FM or AM station, its better you do it yourself with tune. For Example: it picks up Power 106 (which is really 105.9) as 106.0, but once manually reset it sounded much better. good luck

Review: This is the first Mp3/cd player I have bought and I think this one is great.
- It has great sound quality for mp3's and normal cd's
- The volume is a good range
- It reads all my mp3 cd's perfectly
- the display is big enough for easy searching for songs or displaying everything else(song title,how long song has been playing, mp3 info, etc.)
- The search function is easy to use, it displays by directory and lists the songs that are in it
- The radio works good and gives clear sound
- The top seems kinda flimsy but it works good(just dont drop it)
- it comes with headphones that work good, it also comes with 3 memorex 80min blank cd's.
I think if your looking for a good mp3/cd player for a good price, you should get this one.
