Rating: Summary: Excellent player Review: For the price of this player, you cant go wrong. Plays MP3's in any format, and comes with a great set of earbuds that carry the bass better than a homeboys car. The shock protecton is solid, I took it and slammed it on a table and it didnt skip once. It doesnt have the bells and whistles that a RIO Player has, like song display or direct-CD playback, but thats fine. The volume is much better than it is on a RIO, and its about 150 less. As for the person that had trouble with the player, may I suggest an exchange, it sounds like you got a faulty player.
Rating: Summary: Philips EXP201 - UNACCEPTABLE Review: I bought this 2nd generation CD/MP3 player from Philips in the hopes they had fixed the problems which reviewers of their EXP103 described, mainly skipping. Don't waste your time -- they didn't. Each and every MP3 will skip at 7:44 from the start, and every 2-3 minutes after that, even with the unit sitting solidly on a table (none skip when played from this CD-ROM on my computer). If every one of your MP3s is shorter than that then this might well be a fine CD/MP3 player for you. Its display is strictly numeric, numbering directories on the CDROM as "albums" and files in them as "tracks". It read my Linux-written CDROM just fine, which has 1-level-deep directories and no files in the top-level; I don't know if it can handle more complex file and directory structures, but long filenames with embedded spaces are no problem.
Rating: Summary: Dissapointed... Review: I bought this player last week and im really dissapointed. It's skipping all the time and during 5 days i haven't heard any whole song. when it's starting to skip you need to stop for a while otherwise you won't be able to hear anything. and forget about running...
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT! Hours of music using CD-Rs I already burned. Review: I can use the CDs i burned before I purchased this Player. PHILIPS has a winner here especially at this ... Price. Now I can enjoy my whole Music collect when I am traveling and all on few CDs. Although i have not tried it, this unit will also use CD-RWs which means I can delete and add music as I like to my CDs. And the options are many, shuffle, repeat, all in any combination. You can't go wrong with this one as a New Toy or as a Gift.
Rating: Summary: Very good, few problems Review: I found this to be a solid mp3 player with all features working as promised. I don't use the resume feature, so i don't know about any problems with it, but i had no problems with sound quality or skipping. I did have a problem getting "easy" cd creator to preserve the correct file ordering, but then i started burning my cd's with nero, and my problem disappeared, so i don't think this is a problem with the cd player. The only quirks i found is that sometimes it doesnt find all of the mp3s on the cd, and the base boost is a little flat compared to other players. Also, it's (...) expensive.
Rating: Summary: Forget about it Review: I hate this cd/mp3 player. When I open the package,I can't find the belt clip and AC/DC adapter. And 45-Second Antiskip is [bad].One more thing, the color of LCD is not orange, just the normal LCD.
Rating: Summary: Great Product!! Review: I hate to contradict most everyone else, but this is a great product. I haven't experienced any of the skipping problems that others have mentioned. Bought the player for use in my old Ford pickup. The alignment and tires are so bad that I can watch my five-year-old's cheeks jiggle as we go down the road; but this player doesn't miss a beat. Sound quality for both standard CDs and MP3s is superb. I suggest maybe other folks are having problems burning their CDs. For audio CDs, burning any faster than 2x is not recommended. It is also suggested you spend a couple of extra bucks and go for the higher quality CD-Rs. Not the RW-CDs. You should also check your downloaded MP3s before you burn, they may be bad.
Rating: Summary: Terrible Product!!! Review: I have owned Philips products in the past, including a stereo which is amazing quality! This MP3-CD Player is so terrible! The quality is so poor it is a total waste of my money, so I returned the product! It skips constatly, as in every seconds when I am walking with it in my pocket or bagpack. Some tracks it will not even play on mp3 data cd's I create on my computer. It won't display the title, only the number of the song which is a very poor feature. Also when I am walking with the unit it will sometime go crazy and start playing another track while I am listening to the current one. This unit is poor and I would not recommend it to anyone!
Rating: Summary: RESUME PLAY??? Review: I like this portable mp3 player but the RESUME button ... ...I use this player in my car and when i turn it off and come back, it still goes back to song no.1!!! the only way the RESUME works is if you switch it on while you are on playback mode and you have to do it every single time, unlike other brands where you just leave it on RESUME and it will ALWAYS continue where you left off! isnt it kind of pointless to have an mp3 player that will always go back to song no. 1??? that'll over work the NEXT button....
