Summary: Great Little Machine
Review: I used to have a Sony minidisc player and like it a lot, but this machine sounds as good as the expensive Sony machine, and can play an MP3 CD with a few hundred songs on it.

The shock isolation works well and there is no hissing sound when it isn't playing anything.

I'm retiring the Sony minidisc player and going to use this from now on!

Summary: Great product, easy to use, highly recommended!!
Review: I was looking for a quality, but not to expensive CD player at the store. I saw this and was amazed! The buttons are greatly laid out, and it is super easy to use. Just press play and you're in business! Displays the title, author, and album of any MP3 CD. The person that said this is a fiasco forgot a minor detail, (more like major), finalizing the CD! This has always worked for me and always will!

Summary: This player was nearly a fiasco
Review: I was psyched when this player went on sale and thought this was the player I had been waiting for. Instead, I'm here writing another review about how this player is a disappointment.

Simply put, the player wouldn't recognize burned MP3 CDs, ordinary CDs, or CDRWs. I tried:

* Three different ordinary CDs.

* Two burned MP3 CDs of different brands.

* Two sets of batteries, both fresh.

* Powering it externally through a transformer.

The player worked only twice, and then only hesitantly and briefly, once with an ordinary CD, and once with a burned MP3 CD, but it stopped after a few seconds with the latter.

The problem appeared to be the focusing of the laser. When the player is booted and searches for the CDs the laser focusing lens repeatedly swings up and down while the CD is spinning..., but the player only displays "CD Error".

So, if you are like me and are waiting for another killer bargain, I suggest you wait some time longer. Perhaps the mythical ueber MP3/CD/Radio/ID-Text below ... exists out there, somewhere.

As a post-script: this player seems to work for some people, and simply not for others, so your chances are probably, ballpark, 50/50.

Summary: Nice Player; Great Value for the Price
Review: In the world of MP3 players, this one may be considered a bit past its prime now (as of 8/2003), but I still use mine nearly every day and really like it. Do I want an iPod that can carry 10,000 songs? You bet! Can I settle for a player that can carry 100 MP3 songs on a 10-cent CD, and sells for less than 10% of the cost of the iPod? Sure!

I find the sound quality to be quite acceptable, though most of the EQ settings only distort the sound - not improve it (don't worry, the standard setting is pretty good). Controls aren't very intuitive, but can be navigated without too much trouble. The display, while not large, is clear and makes it easy to identify tracks and artists. Battery life is good - especially if you're using some nickel-metal hydride rechargeables (not included).

While not recommended for jogging, the player seems quite forgiving of general movement, with a generous skip protection window. So if you're not worried about being "cutting edge cool," but just want an inexpensive way to listen to MP3's, this is a great little player for the money.

Review: Its price is very low and it has a lot of high quality features.

Summary: Good American brand!
Review: Memorex is a solid American brand and I've bought lots of their storage media (cassetts, tapes, CD-R/RWs, DVD-Rs, etc.) and never had any major problems. This CD player is another solid product that can play MP3 files. The controls are easy to use, and anti-skip works. Do not listen to America bashers who want to promote foreign brands and foreign jobs.

Summary: Bluetiful, I am always getting compliments on the color.
Review: Roses are Red, Bluetiful CD Players are Blue, and if your smart, you'll buy one of these too...

O.K., I know pretty bad, but music puts me in a good mood, and for some reason so does Blue, especially the Blue on this Player.

I don't know why someone else has bashed my beloved CD Player, I have had mine for a little over a year, and have had no problems what so ever. It is the first Memorex product that I have purchased and I would definetly recomend the brand. I was looking at CD-MP3 Players at 3 and 4 X the cost, a friend purchased a Sony and paid over $$$ and mine will do everything that his does, and at the price I paid if it breaks I could buy 3 more for what he paid.

Overall, this thing is awsome for the price. I would, and do recomend this player to anyone, especially those just getting into MP3 Files, it is a great product at a great price to find out if you like MP3 Files, and MP3 CD Players.

Summary: Good little mp3 player...
Review: The good:
I recieved mine today and it works very nicely. Exactly what I needed for a cheap mp3 player for my truck. Nothing too flashy and it's relatively easy to use to boot.

The bad:
The Amazon.com review says it's display is backlit, it isn't. Also, as others have pointed out, it doesn't have the best navigation.

But basically it's a good unit with lots of features for a cheap price.

Summary: Not worth your $, unless you are really poor
Review: The only good thing about this cd player is that it is really cheap. But otherwise, it is not BAD in particular, it is just not good. It takes a long time to read the cds, it uses up batteries quickly, there is a quiet hissing in the background when it plays, it won't hold your spot in a cd if you stop it, etc. Also, I have a tape adapter for my car stereo, and my old Sony player worked great with it; however, this thing sounds really weird in the car. Basically, this is a cheap cd player that gets the basic job done, but your money will definitely be more well-spent on a Sony or another leading brand.

Summary: Value for the money
Review: This cheap discman plays well and has a lot of features considering the low price. I was looking for a cheap discman for my eight years old daugther. I wanted a discman, which was able to play MP3 files. This one does the job, shows the title and the artist in the display and does it all very well. My daugther listen to it before she goes to sleep, in the car and all day long. Great present!
Only disappointment was the headphones. The wire has got a loose connection, so I had to find some other headphones for her. But my daugther is probably the one to blame...
