Summary: Absolutely fabulous player
Review: I love this player. It does everything that it says. I bought the attachment to have it play through my car radio and boy it sounds terrific. It is great to have a RW disk with 150+ songs and be able to play in the car and sound this good.
I highly reccomend this player. If anything different starts happening with this unit I will update you.

Review: I just received my Riovolt sp250... and I¡¯m loving it so far.
It didn't even take me more than couple of minutes to learn how to use the player.
Everything seem to look pretty simple to understand.
After reading couple of other reviews, I thought I had to download whole bunch or stuff from Rio site to have this player work but thank God, I didn¡¯t have to down load anything (so far so good)
What I really like about Rio is that it also supports other languages like Korean and Japanese.
I have lot of the titles written in both Korean and English and I was surprise to be able to view both languages on the display. (The letters are very clear and easy to read.)
There are few things I don¡¯t like about the system as well. The lid is a bit flimsy it doesn¡¯t close really tight (don¡¯t know if it¡¯s only my unit or not ) it kind of has a 1/16th of an inch space between the lid and the base when the lid is closed. It kind of spring back up a little when I press on it. Bottom line, it doesn¡¯t close tightly.
The false leather case (w/strap) that comes with the Rio sp250 looks good but the zipper zips up to slightly past half point from the bottom and I wouldn¡¯t trust that it¡¯s won¡¯t just zip open and out comes your system. For added protection, if I do end up using this case, I would secure it with the safety pin.
Also once this case is put on, the descriptions next to the four buttons on to the left gets covered up. (better learn the functions by heart)
As for the FM radio, some channels are really clear and some are not. Who needs radio anyways.
Headphones that¡¯s comes with the players are okay. If you don¡¯t have golden ears it should be okay for use.
This player is actually quite heavy for a portable player. Personally, I wouldn¡¯t want to carry this around when I¡¯m going for a walk or a work out. For a long trip, this would work great.

Summary: Poor Quality and Customer Service
Review: I purchased the SP 250 because of the audio quality,menu options and good reviews that I had read about the SP 250. I liked the audio of my Rio 600 and had hoped that the problems that I had with that unit were the exception not the rule. From the day I recieved the SP250 I had trouble with the batteries not charging completly. New rechargeable batteries did not solve the problem. When I used alkaline batteries it would only play for two hours.Repeted unanswered e-mails and long hold times to customer service with no resolution in sight prompted me to return the player and purchas one from another manufacturer. With the track record of the two Rio units I have owned I would never buy a Rio product again.

Summary: This unit is not Jog-proof...
Review: I bought this unit because it had the 8-minute skip protection. While this goes a long way to preserve battery life (CD doesn't spin all the time), it is not much of a service if you are a runner. In fact, a regular CD-player would probably skip less. Overall I like this little machine. It seems to play nicely with my MP3 collection and the ability to read M3U playlists on the CD's is great. One more problem...the volume only goes about half of the way I would like it to. It is only a problem with big headphones. Overall, this is definitely the best CD/Mp3 player i have tried out, but I expect I will scrap in in a years time for a 20GB (that's 400 album's worth of space)Rio Riot. No moving parts yo! The Riot also automatically keeps an eye on what you like to listen to and pushes those preferences into several different playlist options. For the money, it will blow away the ipod.

Review: I received it three weeks ago and it has excellent features. Everything I was looking for until a week ago when it stoped working. Since than I am trying to have it fixed under waranty - a huge phone bill and nothing to show for....

Review: Good, really good, the great software makes you feel like you are using a palm pilot, but still easy to use. This baby comes with a number of accesories, 2 different styles of headphones, remote controler, leather case, ac adapter and rechargable bateries, cant be beat. the player itself is really good, it has everything you need, radio tuner, plus a great mp3 cd player with a nicely done easy to read backlit LCD screen. the reason why it doesnt get a perfect 5 is because of the style, it is slightly bigger than the more modern cd players, heavier and not stylish enough. its kind of ugly actually, i wish i can redisign it, but stly doesnt take away the amount of great features personally the best cd player in the market, thats why i chose this over the top choices including the sony, which is nise but doesnt have the useful lcd screen Get this and you wont regret it, guaranteed

Review: I got one of these for Christmas, they cost a little more than a CD Player, or just an MP3 Player, but with this, you get them both in one with an FM Tuner, I love mine, although it doesn't charge some rechargeable batteries, it is still great, I take it almost everywhere I go. It is a great product and I would definitely reccomend it to everybody who has a computer and wants to listen to their MP3's on the go.

Summary: Using Playlists -- m3u files.
Review: The RioVolt SP250 is a great MP3/CD player, and it has worked perfectly during the short time I've had it. The display is large, and SONICblue has done a good job presenting track information in an accessible, efficient manner. I would imagine its a difficult task to create an elegant interface for a portable music player that supports so many features and has the capacity to store so many songs, but the makers of the SP250 have done a good job of making it fairly intuitive... Also, the quality of the FM tuner was a pleasant surprise. It works well and is easy to use (but, really, I wasn't expecting much from this feature to begin with). The thing I found most frustrating about the SP250, and the reason I'm writing this review, is the fact that accessing playlists (m3u files) is not exactly intuitive, and the instruction manual / data file doesn't seem to cover this feature at all. I had to have a friend who owns an SP100 show me how to use it. While the RioVolt is stopped (not playing any music), you have to press the "PROG" button. This will bring up a menu of all of the playlists burned onto the current CD. You can scroll through this list and choose which one to play. I hope this explanation helps some customers avoid the frustration I initially felt when confronted with this puzzle.
