Review: I am not reviewing all the technical details but there is one thing I can confidently say.. "You will never be disappointed!" This iRiver just keeps developing and enhancing its' product lines successfully and those changes were always great. If you are the one who tries to find easy-to-use interface, sophisticated functionalities, continuous customer support and etc. Pick one from iRiver~!

Summary: This is my first and probaly the last.
Review: This mp3/cd player and FM tuner in one is my first mp3 player and it will probaly be the last, you know why, its because its that good! You can get up to 15 hours of music on only one blank disk.
I highly recommend this product to anyone thats even considering to buy an mp3 player...if you got the money.
As far as the remote goes, its awesome! This small, flashy remote is very nice. Its got a backlit screen so you can see in the dark when playing it, which for me is very useful.
Overall an excellent product.

Summary: FINALLY!
Review: After much frustration, and pulling out my own hair, it appears I have finally found a suitable MP3-CD player.I started with the RCA RP2410 player, which froze every 5-6 minutes, and could only be restarted by removing the batteries. If you don't believe how bad it is, read the reviews. As of this writing, it averages 2 stars. Ouch. Then came the Memorex MPD8507CP. Don't even get me started. I thought I had found the one when I got the RioVolt SP250, but I made the unfortunate discovery that its battery life was about 15 minutes to 2 hours - not the 15 promised hours at all. Go look at my review of it for yourself, though. I had given up on MP3 CD Players. Then, I found the iRiver SlimX. This is, hands down, the best one on the market (I'd know; I bought 3 before this and tried 5-6 others in stores). It comes with all needed accessories - AC Adapter, carrying case, remote, earphones, two special stick batteries for 13 hours of battery life, and an external battery pod which will hold 2 AA NiMH batteries to extend battery life by 10 hours. The instruction manual is great, and anything not found there can be found at their website, and/or technical support. This player's slim design is ingenius, and the screen is on the remote - and remote can do anything that another CD player can. All the standard features are there, like repeat track/directory, resume, shuffle, program order (I believe that WinAmp playlists can be imported, too), options, and tons more! The screen itself packs all you need onto it in an organized manner (ID3 tags, volume sound balance, file type/bitrate, bass type, and more...even the song's lyrics, which can be done with a program at iRiver's website) and allows easy navigation of your music. You can plug any pair of headphones you want into this remote, and the sound quality will be great. The ones that come with it are surprisingly good. What else? Tons (I know that's pretty clichéd, but bear with me)! This can handle VBRs (variable bit rates), meaning you can decrease sound quality slightly to reduce file size - very useful with data-format audio files. I have managed to fit 275 80 kbps WMA files onto a 650MB CDRW CD for over 18 hours of music! This player also supports MP3 and ASF files, and can read from CD-Rs and CD-RWs. I reccomend CD-RWs, so you can remove songs and put new ones on the disc. On an unrelated issue, the player also has firmware upgrades which add new features to the player, available for download and burning at iRiver's website. And unlike other players with 8 minute antiskip, this player allows you to turn that off, to save battery life! Then there's the option screen. This lets you do the following: enter your name into the player's memory (in case someone steals it or it is lost, you can identify it), change the backlight contrast/brightness on the screen, the function of some of the remote's buttons, choose the audio CD's antishock length, turn several functions like resume, fade in, repeat and shuffle on and off, create your own bass setting, change the length of inactivity until the player turning itself off, language (35 of them, from Afrikaans to Ukrainian), change display of time remaining in song or time elapsed in song, fast foward on/off and speed, directory skip, sound balance between ears, auto-pause, and more. I highly reccomend that if you buy this product, you buy a set of Palm Pilot stick-on screen protectors, cut one to the right size, and stick in onto the screen to avoid scratching. Hey, it worked for me! To summarize, this is the greatest CD-MP3 player on the market. If you can afford it (took me a while to earn the money), this is the one for you.

Review: This is a perfect example as how should companies make their products, not like mass sellers but like pieces of art. Slim x has everything you need, starting from sound quality to easy of use. This product is great even if you know nothing of portable cd players!

Review: I didn't give the imp-350 5 stars because of the earphones; very uncomfortable; I can't use them. I am using an old set of headphones until I get a chance to buy new ones. Otherwise, great little machine. Lots of features I haven't even gotten into yet. Sounds great.

Review: I recently bought this unit and have been enjoying it ever since. It is quite compact. The external remote is easy to use, but I do worry about its getting damaged which would render some of the functions inoperable. I don't know how expensive the remote would be to replace. The sound is good and the ear plugs are high quality. I think the sound on my Sony Discman is a bit better, however. The rechargeable batteries last about 10 hours before needing to be recharged. There is also an option to use 2 AA batteries instead of the rechargeables, but you can't use both at the same time. The instruction manual is somewhat skimpy and appears to be roughly translated from Korean with some odd English phraseology. I would like a bit more explanation of some of the features. All in all, I'm very pleased with this unit, especially with how well it plays my MP3 files.

Summary: Everything You Would Hope For In An MP3/CD Player
Review: I must say that I have been searching for a high-quality and high-storage MP3 player for a long time. Finally I found it in the IRiver.
The way that it works, at least for MP3 songs, is it accesses the disk, and fills up its Anti-skip buffer with the next eight minutes of music. This way it doesn't have to access the disc nearly as much, which saves a whole lot of battery power--up to about 10 hours according to the manual. Because MP3 files are so relatively small, you can fit a big chunk of your collection on a single CD; I got 171 on my first one.
The IRiver is very slim, which is a plus. Despite its small size, it isn't as light as it may look, although this isn't a big problem.
The sound quality is also extremely good. I was amazed at how crisp all of my music sounded.
The strength of this player is, in my opinion, the LCD remote. Some reviews complain that it is too small--and it is small--but the dot-matrix display is so crisp that it doesn't matter. It fits a whole lot of information onto the small screen, and the crispness of the image is a thing to behold. Luckily, the player supports ID3 tags, so the title and artist of each song will scroll across the screen as it plays, along with other information such as a visulation, the folder the song is in, the mode, the time left, etc.
The remote is not of the most intuitive design, but once you read a few pages about it in the instruction booklet you'll pick it up quickly enough. The number of functions accomplished easily with the limited number of buttons is amazing. The option menu truly lets you customize the player.
Overall this player does not skimp on features at all, and the sound quality is great. I highly recommend this player.

Review: I believe that this is really a great MP3 and I am enjoying exploring and learning about it. The only draw back is the the small print on on the remote. I love how light it is and the shape of the player is so elegant and funky!

Summary: Wow... the SlimX beats all other MP3 & MP3CD players...
Review: I thought my TDK MOJO was the best MP3CD player on the market until I got a hold of this thing. Not only is it small, but the player looks great, with it's metal top and smooth curves. The remote is, by far, the most intuitive thing I've ever seen on a portable electronic device. There's three jog switchs (each of which can be pushed left, pushed right, or pressed) and two buttons that lets you contol everything with one hand and no hassle. The sound is great, and all sorts of files play great. There are a few (extremely) minor drawbacks, however. The iRiver Caption Editor program (for synchronizing lyrics) is buggy and clunky (no word-wrapping), and for some reason won't work with the new version 2.0 firmware. Also, the Line Out output varies with the volume and the EQ setting (it shouldn't). Third, some of the >50 shuffle and repeat modes are redundant or useless (i.e. shuffle 1 song). But, all of this stuff can (and maybe will) be fixed with future firmware upgrades. All you have to do is send an e-mail to iRiver, and they'll personally consider your request. I won't be surprised if I'm playing Tetris or Breakout on this thing before the year is out. Oh, and one thing I was worried about was that remote. It only has a 90-day warranty (as opposed to the main unit's 1-year) and if it breaks or gets lost, then the player is utterly useless (for instance, you can't switch between CD/FM from the main unit). Luckily, the included carrying bag is well-padded and even has a little pocket inside that fits the remote control perfectly. In a word: Buythisnow!
